Wow, that Normal PB was worse than I realised. Just now I decided to play a quick credit before bed, so late-night tiredness set in towards the end, and I didn't capture a single one of Kaguya's spells. Also completely messed up Reisen because I've forgotten how to do her attacks. And still somehow outscored my old PB...? I guess having improved my PIV farming in the early stages really does make that much difference.

And that's more like it. Still room for improvement -- I shouldn't fail Rainbow Danmaku or the fourth LS, and I missed the first LS in the last second, but still, I played the main game really well and that sent me sailing over the 2 billion mark. Really pleased with this result.

Just a casual credit to give myself a bit more experience with a team I barely ever use. Wasn't really expecting to get this close to my goal....

....and then THIS happened. This was going to be an awesome run, I made some mistakes in the early stages but still came out with really good PIV. But what really sealed it was a first ever capture of Reimu's impossible Last Spell. That really fired me up and helped me concentrate, and I was on track for a perfect Stage 5. Then, in the middle of Reisen's final -- "your PC has been unprotected for however many days" popped up, and when I dismissed it, I immediately died. I was so upset, I started making mistakes everywhere, finished with only one spare life. The only good thing that happened in the rest of the run was capturing Kaguya's fifth LS. And yet, after that trainwreck I still made 1.9...? Well, if nothing else, that was a perfect illustration of the comparative importance of PIV and survival in this game.

Now I'm starting to wonder how it became so crowded. I've never seen the scoreboards with that sort of activity. Though when I came here they were basically never updated; every 4 months didn't encourage anyone to use them...

My first scorerun (and I made this account just now in order to submit it). With this I've not only reached my goal of 2b but also got no-miss and my first full spell ever in the same run. Runs that feel this good are rare

As for future goals, I'll probably try to get first place in the local Border Team rankings. I hope to have time for improvements soon (soon-ish).

(By the way, where does one who's new on this forum introduce themselves? Would really like to know...)

After getting the 150fps clear, I thought I really should be able to get this now. And indeed, 60fps really feels slow now, all the time in the world to read patterns and dodge. Still needed a bomb on Reisen's first

Another annoying near-miss. Died at the worst possible moment, on the death fairies at the start of Stage 6, so not only could I not finish with max lives, some of the storm of point items turned into power items. After that I was sure I couldn't get 2b so I lost concentration and failed the fifth Last Spell. Turns out I would have had 2b without that fail. Then again, I wouldn't have been satisfied with it. I guess this team is so much better I should be aiming for 2.1 or something.
