She's adorable, for one. Mainly though, she's cunning and snarky. Oftentimes she's portrayed as dry and sarcastic, which is probably my favorite.  She has fun toying with people in small ways just to see a scenario play out just as planned. Despite her overall capacity for tsundere, I find the tsundere stereotype is often poorly done, so usually I don't like that characterization much. Rather, I like that she has a very "sturdy" and self-reliant character, but she's weakened once other people get involved. I imagine she isn't used to dealing with people in emotionally-heated situations, both because she can't stand emotional outbursts from others and because she gives into her own, so she separates herself from others. It doesn't often get to that point because of her ability to flip a situation around or escape quickly, but this is ironically a reason why she doesn't know how to deal with people. I can also guess that she is angry that Shou, who's clumsy and personal (unlike her), is chosen as a representative, but she follows her orders to the letter out of loyalty to Bishamonten. Moreover, her personality is terrible for a Buddhist, which is why she distances herself from the temple, yet is still somehow Bishamonten's envoy. I find this sort of irony cute, in a sense.
Anyways, I usually explain that the first hook was because her theme and design are awesome, and because nobody else really was a fan of her, people started talking as if I was "the fan", and it became a long-running feedback loop sort of thing. That's mainly the reason I'm as big of a fan as I am now, I figure.

Though for reals, only a fool who cannot appreciate the many varieties the world has to offer would have a favorite. A true fan has at least one thirteen-way tie for first, second, or third in a touhou sort.

Ach! So many patients, so little time. Let me see ...

I like ladies in high authority.
Tell me ... did your kindergarten teacher ever with-hold your favorite toy from you? Just curious.

I'm in love with how she is absolutely cheery and adorable despite the fact she could make your organs eat themselves inside out with a thought. Her design is simplistic and states her race subtly without being absurdly obvious about it. Every thought and dream of spending time with her is laced with the threat of death, of how easily it would come by only a whim, laced in a manner like venom might be laced with her lips. Every moment makes my heart race, in fear or in anxiety or anticipation I don't ever know. It's a wild ride, every bit of it, and I'm trapped in her web and I don't want out.
You spend a great deal of time daydreaming how you will get revenge against your enemies, developing elaborate torture scenarios, some of which you even doodle from time to time. You experience feelings of inexplicable excitement when scolded by older women.

Kind. Friendly. Capable of punching boulders in half.

Also a refreshing exception to the whole 'fragile wizard' cliche.
Earning the respect of others is not as important to you as finding someone yourself that you can respect. As a child, you found the smell of freshly-sharpened pencils calming. There is a character from a television show from your early youth who still haunts your dreams.

I don't have multiple personalities disorder. I just like a lot of characters. >.>
At this point, I seriously question your credentials.
Denial isn't going to get you closer to the root of your multiple personality disorder, you know. Don't hate the messenger.

What can I say but that I like a lady who sometimes has horns?
... This is almost too obvious. Suffice it to say you are probably very happy spring is here at last.

Laid-back and easy to get along with, but is entirely capable of laying down the law when the situation is serious enough to call for it. Morbid sense of humor helps, too.
You avoid conflict and confrontation, and as a result, you have repressed a great deal of anger and frustration. I believe you find an outlet for these feelings through your massive model train collection, or possibly through furious air guitar.

I have a huge soft spot for what tvtropes calls Woobies: characters whose personalities, backstories, behaviors, and/or fates make you sad. In the case of Touhou characters, therefore, my favorite would have to be Fujiwara no Mokou: centuries of isolation and loneliness, hated and despised by just about everyone, consumed by regret for the things she'd done to herself and others. (Well, that's bit of a hyperbole, but the point is: Mokou makes me   and I like that.)
You are a romantic at heart. You should also seek medical attention immediately, because TVTropes.

Quote
side-talk about legs
HM! ... Verrrrrrry interesting ....

My absolute favorite would have to be Utsuho, no doubt. Everyone likes outer space (myself included), and the inside of her cape is made of space! The whole nuclear fusion thing is also awesome, being able to create stars on a whim. Her wings are also pretty, but I imagine they would be hard to use due to the cape...the concrete foot would probably hurt if I were to be on the receiving end of a kick. I, unlike many people, don't think she's a birdbrain (or at least not as stupid as everyone says she is...), you need at least some brains to keep a sun from collapsing or exploding. She's not that bad looks-wise, either...
You feel bored and stuck in your present situation, and can't wait to be more fully independent. Friends consider you impulsive. You have an irrational fear of styrofoam.

I admit her hairstyle is both weird and ridiculously awesome for me, the idea of someone being both capable with a blade, magic, as well as faith is something I love - it gives me the feeling of the "Jack of All Stats" sort of character. That, and her BGM, Background, Effects and Spellcards are all simply breathtaking, her story is also one of the things I like the most about her - it simply screams "BADASS" to my ears.

Can't really put it more into words without going into personal life, I can identify myself a lot with her, or at least I can identify myself to how I perceive her to be :derp:
You are an expressive extrovert with an almost pathological love for televised singing contests. As a child, you witnessed your father clipping coupons, and felt great shame.

The potential to develop the character. There are several things that can be used, which are unknowns, to allow interpretations to vary wildly. The mystery.

Also the carefree attitude, and general goofiness. The concept that her abilty is darkness, yet she isn't some superpowered evil being with evil intentions. Dark is not Evil.
You are quick to embrace new ideas with little question. You excelled at spelling as a child. Your shoes are very disorganized.

She has fluffy wings.
That is all.
Oh and I guess you could develop 'er in any way.

The willingness to trade in freedom and independence for power.
A serious demeanor.
Fluffy tails.
Hm ... I believe the two of you are linked on an unconscious level. While science has still far to go in proving the existence of extrasensory ability, these two posts back-to-back provide solid evidence. I recommend that you try not to think about the same thing at the same time, lest your psyches merge into one.

Healthy ghost girl. It's odd, since I'm usually one for the flatter ones.
You wish to defy death itself. You had a lot of pets as a child. Your mother often bought you candy as a reward for good behavior.

You find reading the phone book entertaining, and experience anxiety at the sight of the color pink.

Well, let's see....probably Youmu, since I tend to like characters who are fairly serious and determined. Plenty of tsukkomi potential there. Not to mention she's fairly level for being a servant to such an airy boss.
You are constantly disappointed by how immature and irresponsible your friends are. You are a big fan of death metal.

She likes trains.
You like trains.

What can I say Doc, I'm a simple man. I like long hair, curves, and penis I MEAN COCK! I MEAN ERECTION! I MEAN MY MOM'S PENIS! I MEAN I WANT TO FUCK MY MOM! I MEAN SKIRTS. I like skirts.
Hm. In all my many, many years of psychoanalysis, you are by far the most balanced and well-adjusted person I have ever met. I have nothing to teach you.

She is (like) goddess, she is clever, she is beautiful, she is powerful, and she is just good.
Your first childhood crush was Hilary Clinton.

Because/
You protect your soft, sensitive feelings behind a veneer of dismissive sarcasm. Your greatest fear is opening up to the wrong person. You ate a lot of sugar cereal as a child.

I love Alice Margatroid because of a dream I had. I think the dream is on this page http://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php/topic,13774.50.html and is reply #99. the date of the dream was 25.10.12. Alice Margatroid is my favourite character because we kind of fell in love.
You played with dolls extensively as a child. You are jealous easily. You prefer to carry your books rather than put them in your locker.

I am sending a message to the kind doctor through my eyes alone. Good luck.
... Interesting approach. Let me see ... you are drawn to the unknown, even if it scares you. You fear growing older. You are unfamiliar with the term "hotlinking".

You are often known as the conflict-resolver to your friends. You maintain a strong exterior because you believe it is your duty to do so. You once witnessed a childhood friends spill food on themselves, causing you to laugh for a long time, shaming your friend, making you feel guilty but at the same time you thought it was even funnier. The memory haunts you to this day.

I like Yukari because she looks like Freud when using his hat

I never thought why I like Youmu, I just like her, help me doctor  :ohdear:
Tell me ... what do you like about her most? Is it that long, white, wiggly thingy that is always present with her? Let's go with that. Yes. Verrrrrrry interesting indeed ...

Buckets.

You have strong feelings of fidelity with the underdog. You are egalitarian, but practical minded. While normally calm and collected, you fly into a rage when someone leaves a book open and face-down on a table.

Nein. What you are witnessing is the piercing, lazer-like insight of the kind of professional who reads the human mind the way mere laymen read the ingredients of soy sauce.

Was it not worthy of praise-through-analysis to reference Kogasa through 3D glasses?
I see you place great importance on having your efforts validated. This has probably been the case ever since that bicycle accident you had in grade school.

Is "hotlinking" a sport?
In some cultures, yes.

No, but she did sit me in the corner every chance she got. The majority of my early school years were nothing but me being chastised and berated.

Yes, she does sound very strict and commanding. This likely had an imprinting effect on you, making a lasting impression about women which has clearly lasted to this day, in that women in positions of authority, as you put it, attract your affections. Believe me, the doctor can relate. I myself have some complicated feelings about my beloved smother. MOTHER. I meant mother.

I like Yukari because she's cunning, manipulative, and highly intelligent. She projects an air of elegance and has great taste in clothes, while still being ominous enough that even other youkai are wary of her. Although we know quite a bit about her, she still has tons of mysteries surrounding both her past and true motives. The best thing about her, though, is her ill-defined ability, since it allows for an incredible amount of shenanigans.

Also, the insides of her gaps are full of eyes and hands clawing their way out. That's just extremely awesome. Reminds me of eldritch abominations and other Lovecraftian stuffs.

She reminds me of someone I know who's very cute.
You are often deeply troubled by the complex machinations of your socio-economic surroundings, seeking solace in reading up on some of the greatest minds of 20th and 21st centuries. You likely also develop attachments for people easily, and find it difficult to break away.

That long, white, wiggly marshmallow thingy is really interesting but the thing that I like more about her is that she looks pretty focused while fighting but at the same time she seems to be so naive when talking with her boss.
Your everyday responsibilities have become almost too much to bear, and if it weren't for your treasured coin and stamp collections, you would likely be up on a water tower with an M-16. You are terrified of dancing in public. In grade school you gained unwanted attention for your unusual laugh.

My favorite Touhou is IN. I love everything about it, the gameplay, the charachters, the story, the music, the sprites and the art, the backrounds and the bullets.
You have a willingness to please everyone that is both powerful and unrealistic. People around you believe you're an overachiever. You are often plagued by dreams of peanut butter.

What do you think of Koishi, doctor?
Who?

I like her because she's so carefree, but when shit hits the fan, she doesn't hesitate to get serious and fix the problem.

And also because she emits this air of authority around her, and I find that trait of hers really really alluring.

and gap hax who wouldn't forget that
You have become very adept at developing a mask of conformity, where you appear to be the ideal child/student/employee in every way. But beneath the surface, if we peer within, there lies another decent, regular person who doesn't want to make any waves. But within that person, whoah nelly!

My answer was not a joke answer. >:|
And I do not give joke diagnoses, as my results here attest. I am both incredibly insightful and impeccably professional. If you need further proof, I refer you to my AA degree in locksmithy from Phoenix Online University.

She's the youngest. Fuck Akyuu.

Oh, and the twincest.
You are a nostalgic person, and often feel as though you missed several opportunities in your youth that will likely not return. You bounce your leg when nervous. You have posted Shovel Dog1 on an imageboard within the past six months.

Pretty scroll, pretty hair, pretty clothes, pretty personality... though SoPM has us believe otherwise.

She's calm most of the time, yet clearly fights for a cause. She doesn't go out of her way to kick ass, but she will when she needs to and she will kick it hard.
Am I the only one noticing a pattern here? I'm seeing a lot of "Character X is calm/cool/laid-back unless something happens, and then they can take care of business/get the job done/kick ass". What does this say about Touhou fans? Find out in my soon-to-be-published paper, "Repression and Anger In the WTC"!

You are shy, and prone to laugh at very inappropriate moments. Your first real crush was with someone significantly older than you are. No 3-ring binder was ever safe from your constant drawing and doodling.

Mellow, cheery, witty, appreciates a good meal and has the best sense of humor in the land.
You would much rather resolve an argument by apologizing or otherwise accepting fault, even when you are not to blame, than to try and "win" your point. You feel a kinship with reptiles. All of your favorite foods have high levels of sugar, salt and/or fat.

I love Tokiko because she's smart, sweet, quiet... polite, mature. Or that's how she seems to me.
When not plotting your absolute rule over the planet, you spend many long hours watching the History Channel. You have shocked yourself at least once by getting too curious about electronics. You are embarrassed by your own taste in music.

1Do not under any circumstances Google this at work, school, or around your parents. In fact, don't Google it at all.

Umm...my fear of styrofoam is completely rational. The sound of it squeaking makes me cringe, and I dislike it.

Let's try another, my second-favorite. She loves to just sit around and read. I'm always up for reading and sitting around. She can hold intelligent conversation, so that's a plus. The asthma is a bit of a minus, though. I don't dislike the dark, which she happens to be in a lot, or the wide open space of a library. She's also very purple, but I don't mind purple (I'd rather green, though.)
