"Yes, Well, I suppose we may have to do something about this... The river has to flow through though, or the Lake would dry up. And the existing pollution has to be dealt with too..."

Your voice echoes through the chamber, along with the splashing of water. Its actually kind of hard to hear anything you're not looking to hear in here.

> Ponder list of possible culprits.

You really do have to wonder, I mean, Yamame appears to be incredibly distressed over all the work this'll mean for her, and really few other people could and would just evade Yamame. Medicine was well... Forced to pass on, it'd been her time for a while though. Eirin could've actually done all this with ease, and you do have absolutely no idea where she is, she COULD have managed to get back...

> Examine the area more closely to see if the culprit is in the vincinity.

You look around for the culprit as you ponder. Someone did this, and its likely that they're still in the room. You begin towards the pool and try to find a spot clear enough you can look in. Before you reach it, Yamame lets out a shout and tackles you away from where you were standing. A sharp blade slices through the floor where you where, and begins cutting towards you. You guess it probably wasn't anyone you knew after all.

You get yourself and Yamame to you feet, and get out of the way of the blade. It doesn't turn quickly, but does so in quick and precise order. It seems like it would rather keep moving straight.

"This is certainly new. Whatever it is is... digging with an unnatural speed through the ground here..."

> If it's from below, Lure it to cut in a circle/square/whatever so that the floor falls on whatever is trying to hurt us.

You watch the blade... Its cutting through the floor, so its coming at you from BELOW. You figure your best plan is to try and get it to follow you in a way that it hurts itself. Your first though is to try and get it to drop the floor on itself. That doesn't end up too well, you notice that just side stepping is enough to dodge the quick blade, and it turns far from you. Yamame outlines the next floor.

"Somethings not right here, I can't see the cuts from where it's been!"

This leads you to further examine this strange blade, its clearly cutting the floor, but as soon as you stop acknowledging the cut in your eyesight, it vanishes. You're not sure what kind of sword it is, but its clearly different than any design Tenshi or Youmu have used. Its heavily curved backwards and incredibly thick, the full blade must weigh much and be rather unwieldy. You decide its probably a cutlass.

This all proves rather pointless, as mid turn around this time, The blade bursts from the ground at you.

You apologize to yourself, Thats not a blade. That appears to be a SHARK FIN. Belonging to a shark that is effortlessly crashing straight through the earth like it is swimming.

...

This is the worst day off ever.

You don't think -anyone- could blame your yelp in terror, it comes with a free dive the fuck out of the way. You suggest Yamame get on the wall as the shark plunge itself back into the floor. You've lost sight of it.

Yamame gets on the wall, and with gust, you scamper up for her to grab you. All is quiet.

You take a few deep breaths and calm yourself. You're facing a shark. A shark that swims in the earth itself. Its probably responsible for the poison too. You're going to have to take it down. Yamame has the power of Disease, but this thing is decidedly not a normal shark. It doesn't appear to be a youkai though, so it probably is a familliar. It also is notably limited, its a shark, it swims, jumps, and chomps. On the wall and in the air, you should be perfectly sa- Wait...

>Try not to whimper. Because goddamn.
>"It...it might be able to dig up the side of walls..." Keep an eye on the walls. We don't need Yamame getting sharked.

You try not to. Its really really hard.

"...No, Its definitely able too. Its starting to circle the room. I'm not sure if thats required for it to get up here, but its starting to reach our height."

Oh. Its a shark that can climb walls too.

Yamame nods, climbing up higher towards the ceiling. You're rather glad the nice little youkai perks like this didn't go away, or you'd be in some trouble!

"It should buy us time at least."

Not so farfetched, since she has them under her dress (along with her normal legs) on her Ex-form sprite in Touhoumon. I'm also imagining her sprouting them when climbing.

> If it digs through earth, is it still capable of going through water? Either go with Fightest plan, or lure the thing into the dirty pool and hope it's traded it's ability to swim for digging, and watch it drown.

>Take some steadying breaths
>Does it look like THE ROC can do anything in here, if were were able to summon or conjure him into this chamber?

You're not sure how well THE ROC could fair against this thing. On one hand, he has the room and a lot more maneuverability, even in this room, on the other thing this thing may be just on another level... THE ROC is just basically a super strong giant eagle. This thing chews through the ground and has a bladed fin.

> Lure it out of the chamber. If it's not quick, we can guide it somewhere with some open space.

You decide you may want to test both series. You get Yamame to go towards the center of the pool Ceiling wise and wait. A few moments later, Yamame jumps away as the shark goes crashing downwards into the pool with a tremendous splash. The water is pulled straight back into the pool after.

... You don't see it's corpse. You guess you aren't so lucky.

You ask Yamame if she can take you towards the remains of the palace. She nods and dashes along the wall to the exit as the fin appears behind the two of you. Within moments, you're out of the room and both of you are dashing towards the palace.

Yamame stops a few minutes later, glancing back. "I don't feel it digging around here. It hasn't followed us."
