Well, I got a sink on the E-2 boss on my first try. Only took six buckets and over 1000 fuel.
...I have 21 buckets left and 1600 fuel. :getdown:

Took things pretty slow and did a lot of overzealous sparkling, but this event was very good to me. Of all the maps, E-2 and E-6 were the only ones with retreats (with E-2 having more to do with picking the wrong formation a few times). Managed to clear E-6 in 12 runs (final form took 2 sorties to beat), and got Roma in about 13 sorties on the H-K route. Also got Kumano and Suzuya (who I'm deciding to keep this time) and a spare Maruyu, Amatsukaze, Mikuma, and Kiyoshimo x 2. Gonna grind E-4 for Takanami/spare Maruyu/Akitsumaru, but I might give that up for E-3 grinding instead (cheaper/faster).

If I get Takanami in time, I'll try grinding E-5 for Yamagumo. E-5 ended up being my favorite map because of the branching rules and the ability to take a sub along, as well as introducing some really good music and Anchorage Water Demon (who quickly became one of my new favorites).

Also pretty excited for Nendoroid Yamato. Preorders went up today, but I didn't waste any time placing my order. She might be really pricey for a Nendo (7800 yen + 2000 shipping) but I get the feeling she'll be a quick seller.

e: final form took about 12 attempts combined. 5 under full sparkles (sans support), with two of them abandoned part-way through; rest (i lost count, srs) were default morale

Both Ooi and Kitakami are maxed except for anti-air.

I went in with everyone in the green, support expedition fired off, and everyone alive for the night battle. The only targets alive were the boss and the carrier princess.

... and everyone proceeded to ignore the boss and target the carrier princess instead. :|

I think this was the most ideal set of cards I could have been dealt and I still couldn't do it.

Currently sitting at < 4k for ammo.

hm,

are your daytime cut-ins doing >60 to either boss or princess? if not, consider switching to a double attack setup (2 red, 1~2 planes, no radars/AP) mixed is nice overall but prioritizes cut-ins and reduces the chance for double attack individually, and a cut-in that doesn't penetrate armor sufficiently is just a glorified scratch attack unfortunately. cut-ins can also miss and deal scratch damage too. double attack is nicer because two hits for scratch is a pretty big contribution to sinking the princess, which is desirable before it makes it to your CLTs turns during night combat
do you have a CA(V) to replace your BB in escort? works better in night combat

nothing else really sticks out, unless you're missing all your shots during night combat then uh, consider using 15.5 main/sub (red and yellow respectively) 15.2, or 12.7cms
ooi/KTKM should be able to hit the boss and hime for 50~150*/hit during night combat with double attack set

e: *depending on form, numbers stretched a bit since "normal" should have lower defenses

Update: I threw my fleetgirls into the 3-2A Hyberbolic Time Chamber and they stomped E-2 without even needing buckets, which is good because I have none. Hello Katsuragi. Please be my wife.

I wish I could do these events, but I'm just no good yet. Can't even make the first area on E-1, Easy Difficulty without having my ships wrecked to pieces. Especially when thse new ships look so good as well... :ohdear:

Technically the event doesn't end for another 24 hours, but I've decided to say goodbye to the spring event maps. I did beat the event on normal. I did find 10 ships I didn't have before. Overall the event was a success. But leaving without rabbit is a disappointment.

Hopefully Kasu has better luck finding Unryu than I did finding Uzuki.

I'm focusing on beating 5-3 now. Who knows, maybe when I get to 5-4 the rabbit will be waiting for me there.

To be honest, I had fun with the event however E-5 threw a big curve ball with people having to do sub cheesing then on top of that E-6 was a train wreck from hell I'm happy I got my first event done on easy and with what few Kai Nis in tact which is an achievement in my book although I didn't get a huge haul of ships like I wanted to so, I'll be hanging around E-3 today and then E-1 tomorrow. Who knows I might even broadcast the next event if it comes to it... since now people know how ridiculous my luck is in events for now no broadcasts I'll be hunting in silence as a celebration of my great triumph and success although LSC celebration time will be when I get Bismarck unlocked in LSC.

E-7 BS happened I bought some keys to unlock my docks and construction and boy oh boy.... did I went from 28 buckets to 11 at E-1 trying to hunt Tanikaze and Amatsukaze oh well... I'll get them next event.

i'm just throwing buckets at it at this point, while levelling all my low-mid levels, primary being maruyu, secondary being levels and tertiary being roma

By the end of it I could just get an E-3 clear by the time my bauxite reserves hit rock bottom. Serves me right for not being able to play for two weeks before the event leaving me wholly unprepared, right?
At least I got Shoukaku and Zuikaku besides Katsuragi. Next carrier-heavy event better go swimmingly.
