I had heard numerous references to JoJo and knew it was popular, but I had never really been interested in the manga. I'm REALLY glad that I decided to give the anime a shot when it came out though because holy crap. This has got to be one of the manliest things I've ever watched, plus the animation is great. The ending and both of the openings are great too.

Also I love the fact that the characters for some of the sound effects show up in the anime itself. :3

Araki is very particular about this. A long time ago one the things they wanted to do with the manga localization of Jojo was reduce the amount of huge sound effect words, but Araki wouldn't allow it.

He also won't allow anyone to rename the characters for copyright reasons (he says the names are an integral part of the experience), which is the main reason Jojo will never be sold in the west.

I really liked the Capcom fighter and the manga, but haven't gotten around to watching the animation yet. I'll have to get around to it, while pushing my uni's anime club to see this in all its manly glory. :V

IIRC some of the characters did get new names for previous US localisations (Vanilla Ice to Iced), but this is probably tangential.

That was just for the fighting game. Capcom had the rights to it and Araki didn't have any control over that.

IIRC The plan is to do all of JJBA, but it'll take multiple seasons and probably won't be back-to-back. Season 1 is Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency (Part 2 has quite a bit more content to cover than Part 1).

And god damn Joseph is an incredible character.

I watched the initial anime, I gotta make time to watch this at some point.

Hopefully they should re-do Part 3, as the initial did leave out whole fights.

Speaking about the OVA I think I can safely say this one's much better, although I've actually only watched half of the first episode and the Dio vs Jotaro battle

I now understand a few more things from Pt 3 than before, while something doesn't make sense as well , but I guess Pt 2 should answer it [Which I refuse to watch until they finish Pt2, it's how I watch things, in arcs.]

Just started watching a couple eps, and I got to say that the anime adaptation does a really good job capturing the feel of the manga. I'm expecting even more good things to come out of this.

Also, I think they're going to go with emulating how the art style changes over time too, which could be pretty interesting.

h-he's not? ;_; I'm thinking that they haven't finished the other characters yet- I mean, they call it an All-Star Battle but duwang only has 2 playables (when there's so many more characters that would be fun to play) and same thing with vento aureo and stone ocean nooooooooo

Well its just that he isn't confirmed yet. And there already seems to be quite a few characters, so I don't know...Either way if I'm wrong, feel more than glad to correct me, because I'll be glad too. I NEED CAESAR AND SPEEDWAGON.

CAESAR AND JONATHAN IS IN, YES!!!! Now we can even Sunlight Yellow Overdrive in HD! Next character I want is Iggy from Stardust Crusaders....but I'm pretty happy with the current list(Although that's because I've only read up to Diamond Is Not Crash(and that has really bad translations).).
