and if Rose is still doing the plan to blow up the Green Sun, Aradia can -hopefully- save her from dying in the process. Since Aradia is there, that's still something that happened (I think).
There's also that thing about Doc Scratch mentioning there being another way to achieve God Tier (This was a short bit before Rose went GRIMDARK, for reference). I think it'd be odd if he mentioned it and then no one used it. Although it might have just been a reference to how Aradia did it but hey remember how aradia was already dead and then her dreamself dying on the bed gave her god tier. So I guess this second bed gives you God Tier via your dreamself dying, instead of the first bed that gives it to you when your normal self dies.
Or something. I dunno. I'm rambling. But it would open doors if people with only their Dreamself alive could still achieve God Tier. *Poofs*

I'm still in awe. I've joked about other characters being killed off to further Vriska's story, But...-wow-. This is literally the first time I think it may have really actually happened.
There are still a great deal of logical arguments, even with the corpses in front of us, for this being bullshit but... I think Hussie just screwed up earlier with the timestamps and everything. He's not a perfect author, as we've seen, and i suppose it'd be unsurprising if he couldn't keep up with all of this.

At this point it's really just waiting to see who survives The Scratch, anyway, when you really think about it.
Most of the trolls have died before that, the remaining ones might also (Aradia permadying in the green sunsplosion wouldn't surprise me), we dunno if any of the humans will be able to live through the scratch even if they live up to it happening, and I guess we actually aren't ENTIRELY sure the Green Sun gets blown up but it's likely... hum.

...welp, this does seem like it might be the end of Vriska. It's not possible to be SURE, really, because no matter how just one of us might think the death is, it depends on what Hussie thinks. But we'll see.
It's quite interesting to know that Vriska would actually be able to damage Jack, though. Makes one wonder how she'd be able to do against him with multiple God Tier partners helping out.
It's a little irrelevant though, since Doc Scratch wouldn't let such a thing occur if it WAS possible for Jack to be beaten; he needs the Green Sun blown up, Jack dying beforehand would means his pawns don't have a particular reason to go to massive effort to blow it up.

Actually, for all we know, the Homestuck kids launched this plan specifically so Jack would be in reach of Aradia and Vriska for a Beatdown x2 COMBO.
But basically if I understand correctly, the purpose of this segment was to see Terezi's ability in action. It appears that when she needs to make a decision, she can flip a coin and create two alternate timelines, witness the results of both, and pick the better one.
This makes a whole lot more sense with Doc Scratch's dialog, and kinda removes my idea that this whole thing was pointless.
This wasn't quite the timeline hi-jinx I was expected when I wrote that one page 3, but I'll take it. :)

Yeah I can't buy Vriska as a character at all. Nothing has happened to her to actually cause her to suddenly develop a conscience, she just has one for no reason now. Along with all that random shit being attributed to her trying to make her out to be some kind of mastermind when it's obvious she's not from her personal interactions, she's a really poorly written character.

this has been implied since the beginning. Since ya'know, she didn't kill Tavros off the bat: this is the action that would have been perfectly acceptable in troll society. She just ended up killing him later when he came to kill her.
gamzee is going to kill sollux by the way. We know Terezi/Karkat are 'safe', but that doesn't go for the rest of the trolls. I presume the crying karkat + zillyhoo scene hasn't happened yet.

Vriska's conscience is a recent development. Tavros was spared earlier more due to Kisemsitude than any attack of morals; recall that Vriska had been using Kanaya to make that dress for ages. And she was well aware of Kanaya's feelings; given some of the things she's said.
Vriska is mostly just in the process of breaking down after all the shit she's been through. Chances are, talking with Hunams sparked the idea that maybe she was just fucked up.

The failtrolls decided to use the Scratch to reset their session, which in turn created the Alternia we know - at which point Doc Scratch fiddled with the history of the planet and the troll race to make them bloodthirsty warmongers. I'd totally buy the books. Pesterlogs are one of my favorite parts of HS, and those would probably be the easiest to transfer.
Also, I'd imagine Homestuck in still pages would end up being similar to House of Leaves in terms of presentation.

My roommate fairly recently marathonned the series after I got him hooked, and it took him about a week or two. Once you hit the sweet spot, you can burn through pages remarkably fast.

That first card reminded me so much of Sakuya. And then Light Sigil's clusterfuck of arrowheads. But the last one I kinda liked, looked like a Spellcard I myself would use. I always did like cards like that, like Danmaku Paranoia, and Kokkuri-san. ...Cards I've never really experienced for myself...
But all in all, that was awesome.

When I saw it this morning, I was shaking and my eyes were tearing up. I was so shocked yet felt so awesome, like I've seen God itself. It was the most epic sequence of images and music since the last episode of Gurren-Lagann. Seriously.
It was also the first HS flash where I understood everything, showing that it is really Finale time, with all the pieces on the board.

Rewatching it just because it's so amazing. I remembered, now - I also loved the part when
Jade was conjuring the wall/window, because you could totally tell what was happening the moment its silhouette formed.
I also noticed that there's still a brief reference to
Sburban Jungle (is it really that much of a spoiler though?), which is completely amazing

Nope, wrong. That's not what a Mary Sue is. Being more powerful than anything else around does not make a Mary Sue, or any other form of bad writing for that matter.

But we're doing it anyway because it's fun to see what their godtier forms are like, and because a good old-fashioned final battle suits the game just fine.

nope he coaxed them into making the green sun at a particular spot (possibly so it doesn't just get eliminated by The Scratch)
Doc Scratch never said he needed to die for Lord English to appear anyway. He just said he -wanted- to die because he'd done all he needed to. Besides, the universe he was in got blown up; I have a feeling he's dead. It's just... he died via CREATION of the green sun, instead of by elimination of it.
If we perused the chat logs he probably never explicitly said he wanted to die via the kids blowing up the green sun, similarly to how he avoided the truth about the entire plan. Assuming he died in the troll universe blowing up, the plan DID kill him, anyway.
Also the kid's universe got Blown The Fuck Up. I wonder if time-space shenanigans means it's still there reset by the scratch or if it it's just -gone-. I think this is something we'll just have to wait on the Huss to learn about... but it seems that even if it did get reset, it's still doomed to be cancerboomed by Jack at some point. The difference is that the latter could still do another session of Sburb.

In other words: the destruction of Alternia's universe, which helped result in the creation of the Green Sun as a requirement for Lord English's arrival, could have resulted in Doc Scratch's death. Of course, this doesn't necessarily mean he was killed by that specific event, and needs to die for some other reason, but ...

You know, now that I think about it I recall that somebody actually called PM being the one to get the ring. His reasoning was that WQ had actually made a mistake; she made PM queen and suggested WV be the champion to take on Jack. However, WV always hated war and wanted to be a mayor, while PM had the stronger willpower and higher aggression of the two (she even raised her Regisword at Jack when he appeared outside the temple!). In truth, they are each more suited for each other's roles.

It's likely a mixture of those two and a bunch of other stuff we've never actually noticed. I have a pet theory that Doomed!John will reveal some other things that should've never happened and it'll all be one huge glorious clusterfuck of 'Everything went wrong'.
What I mean more of, is Calsprite's existence would probably not do shit to stop LE, even if it was in the alpha. LE is immutably, already here, and unlike noir if Vriska didn't make john nap, he wouldn't have been stopped from existing. That's just not threatening if the heroes actually accidentally made him not exist. LE isn't noir. LE is something else entirely, something more naturally 'Here' than Noir is. I think what I'm saying is he is here and it is completely natural he is here, so even if some kink like calsprite happened it would still smoothly flow into him being here in a different manner.
I'm not quite sure why I think that, but yeah basically I think you can't just 'stop' LE from existing, not because he's here and the events have already happened technically, but because he is here and the events will happen however they need to.
This may be the massive sleep deprivation talking though. Take it as you will.
Edit: actually, a better phrasing would be you can't even stop him by making a time paradox and dooming yourself. He'll still be there. think that's what i was trying to express. maybe?

GRUMPY POST-SCRATCH TROLLS with pre-scratch humans we're having CHEERY PRE-SCRATCH TROLLS with post-scratch humans. And apparently the prescratch trolls (at least one of them) is aware of all these weird shenanigans. All of them.
basically the very first thing the troll says is the most important ( http://puu.sh/8J45 ).
This is a huge hint that this human session will finally make a completely successful universe unlike the failed pre-scratch sessions of each race, and unlike the troll's "cancerous" one that gets DESTROYYEEDDD, but we could sort of assume that was going to happen anyway. And also makes me assume that both sets of trolls/humans basically take a turn being eachother's paradox-clone parent thing between each scratched session.
Well the main huge story plot we don't know yet is more around Lord English and Jack anyway.
Lalondes sure like having WEIRD DARK PATCHES don't they? I guess involvement with the grimdark runs in the paradox family.
Also she mentioned 5 heroes. But there's only 4 of the humans. Oh wait nevermind the troll must actually be talking about the coming of the human kids we know better, who all escaped the scratch. Jeez he knows a lot.

We can't really generalize from UU to the other trolls in the post-scratch universe, since all the trolls we've seen thus far (ancestors and descendants) are clearly associated with one of the 12 zodiac. This new one is an anomaly. Unless of course, the Signless's true sign is Ophiuchus, and UU is indeed Karkat-cestor after all.
Though, all of this has made me wonder what state the troll universe is in for the post-scratch Kid timeline.. Pre-scratch? Post-scratch? Something else entirely?

The way space-time works in this comic makes it entirely possible.
For them to be interacting with prescratch trolls right now only makes complete sense (And the "cheering" thing fits in to that perfectly) so I just assumed that's what it was.
tbh I pretty much feel like it's a Sorry I Thought That Was Obvious sort of thing given everything that was said (cheering, 4 universe instances, they're having a game of sburb, switching to kid guardian's game, etc)

What I'm gathering here is that this is a literal mashup of the two universes.
The technology level appears to be a mix between the two. The lusii exist on Jake's island. The frog temple has 8 pillars, right between 4 (human session) and 12 (troll session).

About the 8-person session, well
there's some clues pointing towards the original kids simply merging their session with the kid guardian's. Jade has all their planets, and it's been mentioned more then once that they will meet, notably by the UU person. At least two of the original 4 have unfinished business on their planets that could be done, as well.
It's sort of questionable how non-Jade/John would get there, partially as it would suggest the trolls also make it, but whatever! We can't guess -everything- off of foreshadowehing.

Huh... I was rereading stuff to try to understand parts of the story better and something seems off. How does Vriska's timeline work from her perspective?
From what I can work out it's something like in the past Vriska breaks Tavros, kills Aradia, get's blow up by Terezi, blinds Terezi, gets robo arm and eyepatch. Then during SGRUB she teams with tavros, get's half killed by Aradia, becomes God Tier... then goes back to normal at the end game? In the veil she has her eye and arm. Was the timeline during SGRUB split by Aradia when she skipped to the end? Also does that mean Act 5 part 1 was actually a doomed timeline? But then if it's a split timeline, how come when God Tier Vriska is killed, viel Vriska dies as well?

Actually, Vriska lied to John when she said that not even she had achieved godtier. She actually had during the Sugrub session, except she changed her got tiger clothes for her normal ones, taking them off her dead body. If you notice her clothes in the veil, the sleeve from the same arm that used to be robo is missing. There's your explanation. She changed back to her godtier clothes when she finally decided to go fight Jack.
Also, I am giggling like a silly schoolgirl at the fact that Hussie didn't forget the other kids. :3

My favorite part is that the doomed timeline that Davesprite came from was probably doomed due to prototyping L'il Cal, thus preventing Doc Scratch from happening, and thus preventing Lord English from happening; after he already happened.

You know ... one of my favorite things about Homestuck is how, both literally and metaphorically, it doesn't just break the Fourth Wall. Nah, I think it most certainly means that the kids will arrive in 2012.04.13. Since while Homestuck was going for more than 2 years now, for the kids, it was still the same day. Three years from that is 2012.04.13. So basically Hussie just told us how long Act 6 will probably last. Or at least how long we'll have to wait till the kids arrive in the new session.

Haven't read this whole thread, but I noticed something in 5x Showdown Combo. In the slow spinning parts, Vriska's body is sitting there. but in the fast spinning part, you never see the body. This is what I think "don't turn your back on the body" means. Sorry if this was already mentioned.

Seeing this topic being incredibly popular (as well as a couple of other things here and there on the internet) I decided to conquer this webcomic known as Homestuck. I feared that after reading this comic I would've become incredibly obsessed with it. I was right.

Now, onto my mandatory opinions/favorites post: Favorite character(s): The beta kids. They are all so perfect! John is incredibly derpy yet herioc. Dave is the cool guy. Rose is the youth-rolling know-it-all. Jade is too adorable and kick-ass. Favorite troll(s): Andrew Hussie is my favorite troll. I love all the trolls. All of them. Well... the only universe that hasn't already been Made was the troll one, which doesn't make a lot of sense as a scratch.
Besides, he's been hintdropping all over the place that this session will actually be successful and have a result safe for all eternity or whatever. Which doesn't correlate to any of the current universes (Which, at the very least, get the inhabited planet nuked by Sburb)
