FYI, it's ultra violent Japanese movie night at the channel. Pop in if you like Battle Royale.

If you aren't reading the novel, don't bother with Battle Royale. It simply won't be done the justice it deserves. =[

Battle Royale's a surprisingly awesome novel.

Battle Royale is also a horribly angering premise.

It's the fact that it's so brilliantly executed that makes it great. Like, it's not violent purely for the sake of being violent, and it puts just the right amount of detail to make it detailed and not creepy.

The only bad part is Shinji's really boring chapters. No less than 3 readings have been stopped short because I have to read those.

I never found much to be boring in it; lack of action general means other details are coming in; which are to be noted and sorted into the larger picture.

I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what caused Japan to remain totalitarian in that setting; my theory was that the military coup against the emperor on the eve of Japan's WWII surrender actually succeeded.

Well, those chapters were just plain boring, and their plan amounted to nothing. I actually liked all the rest of the nonaction in the book.

Anyway, movie's over. About as good as a movie adaptation for a 600+ page book with lots of action can get.

Also, this slaves person is quite the topic spammer, huh?

Sorry.

As for me, though? Remember that Shoot the Bullet doujin rewrite I promised myself I would never make?

Geez, you're never gonna play the full version. :P Don't you want to meet Satori and Koishi and Utsuho?

And shooting the tengu? You have caught my interest...

Sodium, I didn't see Orin in her top 15, so I didn't mention her.

On the other hand, I don't have to draw anyone for Ruro if she doesn't play.

WHY DOES THE DEMO NOT COUNNNNNNNNNNNT

Because it's not the full version. :P Seriously, seriously, seriously, the demo's harder than the real thing.

[14:40] <Sakura-Rurouni> And there's this theory that if I play SA, the Silence will come onto the universe.
[14:40] <FallenV> She's probably sitting around thinking, 'Oh, I wish Ruro would come to my palace today. It's so lonely here'.
[14:40] <Sakura-Rurouni> ...

[14:42] <FallenV> 'I wish I had someone around to have fun with'.

OW MY HEART

Maybe I should. But first, I must eviscerate Eirin in Megamari's Eientei stage. Is that fair?

"The Second Coming"
by W.B. Yeats

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of "Spiritus Mundi"
Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

Spoiler:
Hotaru Tomoe's Prologue:
"Second Coming"

Certainly some sort of revelation is approaching
Certainly the time of "the second coming" is approaching
"Second coming" ... as soon as these words reach my lips,
An enormous image from "The World's Spirit"
Disturbs my vision

Somewhere in the desert
A monster with a lion's body and a human's face,
Like the sun, blankly,
Callously gazes about,
Slowly moving its legs
While all about it,
The angered desert birds' shadows rotate about

Then, a second time, darkness...
However, I understand now
The time that slept like a stone for two thousand years
Rests in the rocking, swaying cradle,
And the nightmares that were called out of it -

And yeah, let the Silence approach. \o/

Now the only problem: Three poets from the pre-civil war era...and three poems each. I actually managed to track down three from this guy called Phillip Pendleton Cooke, but I need three others whose poems can be found online.

If you find me two more I'll not force you to play SA. =D

Edgar Allen Poe, Percy Blythe Shelley (see Ozymandias), and Emily Dickinson.

Next?

Hooray for Escapism

Indeed. \o/

Does it have to be American poets?

'Cause if not, you can never go wrong with a little William Blake.

Seriously, freaking awesome poet~

I know. We had to read him in my class, along with Yeats. It was awesome. :D

May I suggest comparing the two poems of "The Chimney-Sweeper" for Donut?

*hugs Ruro*

*bites ear*

You're welcome, dear. :3

^_^

...Wait, this means you don't play SA. D: DAMN IT! Ah well~ I'll get you next week!

And Theorist, yeah they had to be American. Now I simply need to remember these poets for tomorrow and I should be good to go! :D Good thing MoTK isn't blocked on our school computers!

Thanks Ruro, you really helped me out.

And clearly the best poet ever is Shel Silverstein.

EDIT: And now my mom has given me a whole book on poets and their poetry. Goes to show asking others for help really does have its merits. Now off to relax in my bath.

EDIT 2: Third 1cc of PoFV normal! :D Considering I lost a life every stage from stage 6 on I didn't expect I'd 1cc, but Tewi managed to trick me! Sadly, it seems that the game simply does not want to see me 1cc, because my replay crashed the game AGAIN.

You need to stop giving Ruro reasons not to play SA.
Also, I decided to give IN a spin. After seing that it already had unlocked Almost every spell card, I wanted to play the harder ones. Got to capture 3 of Mokou's Spell cards and a Last Word. I feel like the king of the world for tonight.
