Story
Based on Mistbell's original discography, Advent Cirno and adapted into a manga by One Night Stand.

Advent Cirno is a Touhou Project+Final Fantasy+Monster Hunter crossover that has more influence from other video games

The summer heat has reached Gensokyo, a festival called the Aomori Nebuta Matsuri is arriving soon to commemorate lost heroes. For the festival, Shinra Company decided to help sponsor the festival.

However, their delivery ship will arrive exactly the same time as the festival due to technical difficulties but it wasn?t so much of a problem at that time.

When suddenly, the Sky Pirate, the ?Purple Mist? sent a warning to steal the goods inside the ship. Worried about the festival, Shinra posted a job offer at one of the guilds. Doing a job that does anything, as mercenaries, EX-SOLDIER Cirno Strife, the protector and strongest of all of Gensokyo and EX-Scientist, Reisen Valentine decided to do the job for the sake of the festival and for the happiness of the people.

I watched the video and listened to the song.

The battle system looks really intriguing. Sure it's only swordslashing and jumping at the moment but it still looks very impressive. I particularly like the simple user interface at the bottom. As I mentioned before, it looks very sleek and new-age, yet reminiscent of the old FFVII interface. The battle theme was energetic and heroic, something that really fits in with our heroine. It was a little repetitive though, in that it was a rather short loop, but I suppose that's just to be expected if you want to give it that FFVII feel. The sprites look very well done. The slashing animation's very fluid. I'm just wondering about the running animation, though, but I suppose that's still a work in progress?

The Reisen theme song was very well made. It really felt like a FFVII-ish (is that even a word?) remix of Reisen's theme with what I believe is bits of the Eientei theme (or are they one and the same? I can't remember). Puts in my mind a fast-paced event battle against the Turks in the middle of Midgard. A little bit somber though in places, perhaps that's just me. I was expecting her theme to have, well, more energy and bounce to it, AC Reisen being based on Vincent. But that's probably just me. Sorry I can't be more succinct, I'm no expert on music.

@Tsalop thank you so much for the offer, but I'm kinda afraid that you might get discouraged by my...pickiness towards graphics >_< I mostly need help at least making the enemies and a few animations or at least someone help me level the designs so that I can focus on graphics 100%

@Mind-The-Gap Thank you very much for the encouraging words! Yes the running animation is kinda old so it's not going to be used, I'm in the progress of remaking it :)

I'll talk to tyvb about Reisen's theme to have it have more energy and bounce at some point and I hope we could somehow succeed in that although...

Other side note. I am sad to say I am losing interest in making Advent Cirno due to too much pressure, demands, so many fixes, the only person fixing all of the graphical aspects I just want to throw it out of the window =_=

Wanting to quit is normal.  It's hard to constantly work on a single project all the time.  It's hard to work on a single task for hours, days, weeks on end.  My advice, since it isn't the sort of project that has a strict deadline is to take a break.  Play some games, watch some movies/anime or draw.   Do something to rekindle that passion and come back when ready.

It's a good test to see how well you can handle working on a project despite your personal feelings.  It's great for the real world and a true job.

Hello everyone, I know it's been a while but.

The current situation for this project is highly unstable, I'm not sure of the root of the problem but it seems that it's related to me that has caused severe damage to my communication with someone and it seems I'm the one getting all the anger even tho I'm not really sure what's going on...

In short, the real time battle system looks like it has to go to the drain and I have to go back to turn based.

I'm not sure what to go on from here since I ditched the development of turn-based idea long ago and I have to salvage it all back it seems.

I'm just thinking if everyone will like this sudden change or if you guys liked me to stick with real time (I can still do it but it'll just take longer) and yeah...

I personally have almost always preferred real-time. But if you're going for a real-time battle system, it's going to take a while to make it really robust. So, which ever one you prefer. I can wait as long as I have to.
I gotta have something for my sig, so...

Wow this looks great, although I never liked KH:CoM mainly because of how the whole combat system revolved around using cards, seriously irritated me to the point of not playing the game at all.

Just redid it entirely..

Man I'm beat
I'm thinking of how to do the gameplay mechanics now
If I stick with the turn based this is how it'll look like, for the other idea, I have to think of another HUD...AGAIN

Hi everyone! I finally got back on track with Advent Cirno and working on it at a nice pace. However, I found myself stuck at a very awful situation :(

Are there any nice writers out there that knows the Touhou character personas? I find myself stuck writing their dialogue without making them "Joe Everyman" if not well that's ok but I just thought I'll try my luck by asking :)

Ah, I have it written out and I'm worried if manage to have them "in-character" and not some soulless or samey people ^^;

It's pretty short(?) I hope, if you're still interested I'll pm it to you sometime once I got the story 100% written out sometime this week.

NO CHEN?!?

I am deeply ashamed.

You must throw me as a projectile at least once for this to be a touhou game.
I had a teacher who used to play radiohead during class once.
