Posting for a buddy, due to his lack of internet access.

To quote said buddy: "Okay. Anyway the problem is that Touhou Marine Benefit closes as soon as I open it. I was wondering if i was doing something wrong."

I'd help him before coming here, but I've never heard of what he's talking about. Soo... Thanks in advance, anyone.

I've never heard of it either. Definitely sounds interesting though.

Sometimes it's the simplest things that can cause it to not work. Did they try setting their locale to Japanese (or use Applocale)?

Apparently, and keep in mind this is 5:30 AM typing, so I may miss some details... it used to be a flash fangame which is now downloadable. A google search or two should do the trick. Maybe?

I'll check with him about the Japanese Locale thing, if it's... well... actually Japanese.

(Also to my knowledge it's freeware, but if it turns out it's an actual, pay-for game, feel free to let me know and I'll edit my post to omit the whole 'hey you should be able to find this easily' bit.)

Is it still Flash-based? You may just need to have Asian text support installed, depending on your operating system.

On that note, please post their system specs (O.S. version, etc.).

I tried it last night on my laptop with a jap locale.
It worked fine.
Whereas on my non jap locale PC.
It didn't work.

Those are the right files.
What happens when he says it closes?
Does he see the title screen?
That happened to me when I was fiddling around with the config.
If not then I don't really know.
If you can get a run-through of what happens then I might be able to help more.

I think I may have overlooked a file.
Does he have "th_kaikeidou01.dat"?
Maybe that's why it isn't working.

My copy of MB doesn't have this DAT file, either.

I have this popping up even before the game shows its Now Loading screen (I'll assume it even has one).

Just a reminder, that "error popup" doesn't show any error information at all, you have to show the actual information (the "click here" link).

Were you able to play the game with just the .exe file?
If you go to th right place then you can choose to open the .exe file instead of saving it.
If you aren't able to play it then maybe you aren't compatible.
If enough people ask then I might zip up my folder and put the link here.

Try opening the game .exe from the site without saving to a folder.

The exe closes automatically without some "error has occured" message.
Also, I got the files. They don't... work, last time I checked.

It's good to know that you got the files.
With the fact that you can't seem to open the .exe on it's own makes me think that it just wont work on your computer.
Does your computer meet the system requirements?
