>You do so. The forest is to the south, as thick and overgrown as ever. A road nearby, just to the west, leads inside. Off to the north is bit of grassland, ending in a rice field.

>It's kind of hard to tell, it's all unfamiliar to you. But you think you recognize a few things here and there.

>You begin making your way southward. After spending time in the kappa's chariot, this feels almost intolerably slow. Trees pass beneath you, every so often you fly past a creek. You see the lake in the distance and pass it by. Minutes crawl by, becoming tens of minutes. Every so often you see faeries fluttering about, alone and in small groups, going about their own business. Perhaps half an hour, or three quarters of one, has passed before you note a river ahead.

>The river runs more east to west, but following it toward the latter a little, you soon can make out some plumes of smoke rising from the trees.

>You make your way toward the smoke, and can just glimpse some of the curious mudbrick huts through the lightened canopy.

>You descend down into the village. It is much as you recall, as you land close to a familiar building with a sign depicting a foam-laden mug and a kind of winged and clawed beast rearing on its hind legs. Off to the right, you can see the palisade of Kay's little fortress. People are milling about; a stout woman coming from the building you landed near gives you both a curious look. Further out, you can see others are tending to their fields.

>The woman nods her head, her lips drawn thin. "Don't mind us," says Nue, "We're just visiting."
>"Well, I guess the buildings look pretty Avalonian," Nue says with a shrug. "But I don't see anyone I recognize. Not that I even saw all that many people before."

>The two of you make your way toward the small fortress. Nue purses her lips as you approach it. "Geez, what a budget model," she says. "The castles in Apex are a whole different league from this thing. Guess they must've built it from stuff around here?"
>Looking through the gates, you don't see anyone lingering around the terraces past the palisade.

>You go to knock on the door. After a few moments, you hear the muffled voice of Sir Kay calling out "Coming, coming!" before the door opens, and he peers out. "Ah, Miss Changeling," he says, "I hardly expected to see you again." Then his eyes fall on Nue. "Hmm. Well. I hardly expected to see you again, either."
>"You're looking remarkably spry for a human," says Nue.
