...so allowing a sword to be and remain stolen was to be the apology. Hmmm. Vague, but appropriate for Yuyuko...
I think your mistaken, yuyuko was actually talking about how Reisen give the SDM a painting from yuyuko's mansion, she was hired to steal it, but she actually asked yuyuko for it in exchange for giving poor youmu her sword back.
I was mistaken and thought Yuyuko was saying to Sakuya that apology for what happened with the assassination was impossible, because of the sword thing and the stolen painting. But it seems yuyuko is actually crypticly telling us that reisen lied to us about stealing the painting.
Hopfully you didn't already know that.

Regardless of how much time has passed, confessing to asking her to steal for us isn't a good idea.

Yuyuko isn't to be underestimated!

...I'd have Sakuya say something, but, honestly, coming here was Kilga's thing and I don't really have any ideas on where to take the conversation. I wouldn't say the conversation went well enough to reasonably bring up hunting for old or historical items right now. tl;dr is that Yuyuko letting the print end up in our possession uncontested was her form of apology, which was a rather fitting "gesture" for both involved parties (allowing Remilia to revel victoriously), even if it may not exactly equal out an assassination attempt (not that many things are grandiose enough for that in the first place)
<mauvecow> see this is how evil works in reality, it just wears you down with bureaucracy until you don't care anymore
