The Dark Mod is single-player a total conversion mod for Doom 3 inspired by the Looking Glass Studios stealth games Thief: The Dark Project and Thief 2: The Metal Age. It builds upon the gameplay of those games and even improves upon it in many ways. If you liked the first two Thief games you owe it to yourself to play this, as it's probably the closest thing to a modern equivalent to the earlier Thief series there is.
If you've never played a Thief game, then this is perhaps best described as a stealth game set in a somewhat medieval gothic steampunk fantasy setting. In most missions you play as a thief, and you steal things (duh).

No problem.

If you're already an experienced player of the original Thief games then this is something you should try when you get the chance.

It's made by and for people who have played the original games many times over, so it's designed to provide a renewed challenge for people who've played the originals so much they're now too easy. As such, while missions can vary  a lot in difficulty, The Dark Mod can be significantly more difficult than the first two Thief games on average.

Some missions recommended for beginners are The Crown of Penitence, The Outpost, The Parcel, and Too Late.

Some missions I recommend:
-Knighton Manor
-Tears of St. Lucia
-Return to the City
-Glenham Tower

Also a few especially difficult missions I recommend if you're feeling hardcore:
-A Score to Settle
-The Heart of Lone Salvation (very large map)
-The Phrase Book (features some really nice semi-random and dynamic guard patrols)

There are plenty more nice missions available other than those I listed above, these are just the ones I really like personally.

I just finished William Steele: In The North

This is probably the largest mission I've recorded so far. It's a little over 2 hours long and is a true blind run.
