Marine Benefit does not work on windows 7

Hello guys, I searched in the google and here about  this problem but I couldn't find any solution, so there go this post.  During one of my university courses I got the Marine Benefit 4 files from the official website and I could play it normally without use applocale. Later I tried to install it on my laptop but in this one it does not work, I can open the .exe with or without the applocale and it crashes in the black screen, it does not even show the main menu. In another computer I could enter in the menu and play, but the game are without the images and sound, I could see only the text. Well I wanna play only on my laptop so can someone help me?

Details:
* My computer has the Japanese IME;
* I tried to open using the Microsoft AppLocale and one portable appLocale;
* I can play the danmakufuku using the AppLocale;
* The folder has the 4 main files plus the "th_kaikeidou01.dat" that I read somewhere the game needs to run;
* Before crash the game can create the config and Log files;

Try changing your locale. Applocale doesn't always work.

Hmmm change my pc's locale or AppLocale's locale, what locale do you recommend? Chinese?

Try using Japanese locale to run the game, if not work, try to reinstall Marine Benefit using Japanese locale.
If NOT work too, let's wait for better answer.

I copied the files from the first computer to my laptop, so I don't think that the files are corrupted, only if they are corrupted while I was copying them.

I was never able to make the game work either, though I just compared my file sizes with the ones at the site, and in doing so noticed that a few of them were updated about a month ago. So whatever the deal was, I re-downloaded them and now everything's dandy, so I might suggest doing the same, in case you have an older version or something.

I changed the locale but it didn`t work, at least now I can read the program`s log, but there is nothing that can help me there, it just stop of log and didn`t give an error message =(

I don`t have idea, for me the game created this file when I started to play.

I don't know what to think then. I seem to be in a different situation than you (XP, no language packs despite legit copy so no changing locales, can't even view the menu) so would you like me to make my own topic instead?

For me there is no problem if you want to ask something in this post, maybe the solution can be the same even with different OS. I can't see the menu too because it crashes before , anyway did try to use the Microsoft Applocale or the portable AppLocale to run it? Also if you have the legit windows CD you can install the japanese package on your system.

That's the thing, I don't have the CD aymore so I can't get the language packs. Is there a way to use Japanese locale if you don't have the Japanese pack installed?

Huh, that is strange, they don't say that have japanese version, but there is one that I use, the problem is that the download site itself is in japanese. Try this one and click on the blue buttom at the right of screen, it is the same site  but in japanese, http://www.google.co.jp/ime/

When you install the japanese language package you make your computer more compatible with japanese applications, like when you use AppLocale because your computer's locale does not support the application's text encode. I think that when you install the Input method editor, you also install the language support ( you must be able to read what you write). Fixed my problem, apparently my bgm file was 2mb too short <_<

What are the sizes of your bgm and dat files?

Well I got the game again and could play it normally from a pendrive (lol) without use applocale in win7, with the portable locale I could open the game but couldn't see the textures. This is so random, do your game path have space characters in?

Those are the correct sizes. Not sure what your problem is then.

Tried getting this today too and it doesn't work either. I have the bgm.dxa, dat.dxa, the corresponding notepads and the two apps. The game refuses to run with or without applocale.

Huh. When I compared my file sizes to yours only a few posts above I noticed that my two .dxa files are a lot smaller. What do?

Yours would be the same problem as mine, probably. Just keep attempting to download until the file you get is as large as they should be (129988 KB/127 MB and 124314 KB/121 MB, respectively)
