Unusuals confirmed. (though, apparently, the particle effects aren't implemented yet.)
It's only a matter of time before a US$2000 trade over an Unusual occurs now. (reference to a Burning effect Team Captain trade in TF2 that cost that much)
While I got basic rules and some few easy difficulty bot matches down, chances are if I start playing, I'll be treated as lower than TF2 F2P status for at least a year by the community, going by traditional DotA elitism, the TF2 community's love of poking fun at F2P pubbies (usually over how they play poorly and which hats many of them wear), and the likelihood I'd probably only stand a chance against other such players. Considering this and other current ventures, it looks like I'll be ditching DotA 2 for everything except using its assets in Gmod, and focus on improving play in STGs.....
What I can suggest, though, is for community to have regular in-house training sessions, with 3 regular/experienced and 2 newcomer players per team. We've done that regularly on the unofficial community TF2 server (usually via specialized practice or scheduled meet-ups), with great results from both the newest F2Ps and near-competitive grade players.
