EDIT: Loving how fast the file size went up when you added some custom content.  It doesn't bother me at all (It would be hypocritical; Wish Under Celestial Star is sitting at 60mb or something already) but it does make me laugh.

I... Honestly.

The thing is. Random encounters in RMVX, as you might know, are freaking screwed up. I'd have to actually get into the nitty-gritty of ~*~scripting~*~ to fix how random encounters work. Average Steps is horribly skewed. D: I did not, in fact, touch the encounter rates at all!

Is it just me or is Incubating Hibachi less rage-inducing than it was before?  I was able to make him my third fight (First being the mandatory demons, second being Rizack) and take him down without a death.

Oh, right, about the encounters.  Give me a few and I'll hook you up with a script that fixes it.

EDIT: Here.  I would've gotten you the more uptodate one from Pocketwiki but I think Yanfly ragequit that again.  Anyway, this has some options at the start which you'll need to configure (The script details what does what), so it should be easy to set up.  Long story short it'll help you control the amount of time between encounters.

EDIT 2: Abomination cast Calamitous Flame!
Sana took 3000 damage!  Sana is knocked out!
Alstroemeria took 2800 damage!  Alstroemeria is knocked out!
Sapz took 3200 damage!  Sapz is knocked the fuck out!
Baity took 3000 damage!  Baity's shit is wrecked!
Garlyle used RAGEQUIT

EDIT 3: I also need to hook you up with some of the basic bugfix scripts.  This is the first time I've actually seen VX's reappearing dead enemies with my own eyes

Speaking of me being awesome, you might want to check out This (Turns out PocketWiki is doing just fine).  It's a bunch of fixes for programming fuckups in the base script (Such as the fact that if a state wears off when an enemy is dead, the enemy will reappear, even though it's no longer a battle participant and doesn't matter - This game was the first time I've actually seen this in action), plus some optional little things that may or may not matter to you.

Just tried the third demo for the first time tonight, and I really enjoy this game. There were some moments I shout-laughed
Spoiler:
Ruro eating strawberries and getting over a thousand HP!
, and overall I enjoyed the exploration. Combat was also a lot of fun; I love turned-based melees (always went for VATS in Fallout3) and developing combat arrangements for different types of opponents was enjoyable. The Tower's puzzle game feel was a really nice touch, too.

And I am never, ever going in that room again.

Hey, everyone, thanks for the reception.

It's been a lot of fun getting intermittent releases, but now I'm going to get into the nitty-gritty of it and try and complete a majority of the game, so the next release will be very far from here. I'm still debating whether I do another partial release or go for the full release, but we'll see. Patiently await for it, and rejoice if I can get the entire thing done by the end of the year.

Again, I'm glad for the positive reception and I hope you all enjoy playing it as much as I did making it.

Here are a list of things to expect:

Much, much more playable content
Some much needed rebalancing (bug me on IRC if you want to get in on it)
Bug fixes
The addition of the remaining 4 playable characters

also where am I in this :3


Found a rather deadly glitch. When you get the boat, if you use it to enter the tower through that tiny piece of land, the boat stays on that piece of land while you exit from the right and you can't get back on no matter what.

the portrait bug has been repeated to me about six times now

those are all fixed by now.

Regardless, I'm past Tark Fortress and am just grinding Sapz. Rou, and Purvis' levels up. Mainly Sapz as I haven't really used 'er yet, so. Yeah. :V

That aside, can't wait to see what'll happen next, and uh. Keep up the great work!

All right. My thoughts as this newest demo progressed:

Currently: LOOK AT THAT FISH
--oh hey new overworld battle music
--...that Demon Soldier just dropped iron. ...CRAFTING YAAAAAY
--Hibachi wasn't quite as tough this time around; took him down in two turns. Maybe Hime's ATK boost played a role?
--...okay, yeah, Hime's ATK boost is broken early-game. Spent a turn buffing and then took down Ruro in two shots of Tenba Haouken. yeah Purvis died during the fight but still
--Am I supposed to be able to go to Arkadia yet? Also, I don't have Rou with me yet and she's speaking to the Keeper there.
--Welp, Valentia's still as tough as ever.
--Sana's old portrait still shows up at the cabin east of the fortress if you haven't beaten Valentia yet.
--Related to the Arkadia bug; I decided to look around Arkadia and went into some tower where there were giant snakes, and Fighting of the Spirit started being the battle theme for other places until I beat Valentia. (I feel bad that I had to buy stuff from the store there and forge Sana a new weapon ;_;)
--Took down Kilga in three (four?) turns with Sana/Hime/Rou/Arashi; didn't heal at all. Yes, I was still using the Arkadia armor, but the weapons I had at that point were all normally obtainable. ...Still, if Kilga had used Mad Zapper again, I'd have been down two or three people.
--Nobu y u do Searing Halo and kill everyone ;_;
--Arashi's DITHYRAMB doesn't have an animation?
--Bladereon + Lesser Tamarand encounter looks visually...off somehow.
--"You make me want to toss you into the sun, you runt." *my party gets wrecked, and then presumably hurled into the sun*
--Does SPI affect more than just magical damage/defense? With an ATK buff but a SPI debuff, Sana was doing 1 or less damage per hit to Erebus.

Whew. Just finished playing through the demo. And I've got to say. It was quite the thing. The (at the moment) final round against Valentia was just... pretty damn intense. So many Periods and Berries being tossed around. So thankful for Sapz and Hime being hilarious seige engines of annihilation (<3 Redrum Beat & Tenba Haouken). Seriously. ...That and Hime being comically fast. Just. Phew.

Though nothing will be as hilariously close as both my victories against Hibachi Mk. II with a party of Sana/Hime/Sapz/Drake. Long story short for the first one: Horrifying slugfest ensues, everyone but Drake dies, and Drake is just barely alive spamming STRIKE FORCE. Hibachi Hyper Blazes her and she barely survives, then finishes him off with one last STRIKE FORCE. Then I kinda derped out and couldn't get back on the ship so I had to do it all over again. Though this time it was Sana who was playing last man standing and spamming Kuugashouryuukyaku. Suffice to say, both ended with the respective survivor levelling up after victory.

Also, I loathe Fatal Circle. So much. ...actually I just kinda loathe Val in general, but whatevs.

And one last thing: is the sound from the Island Trail overworld supposed to be overlapping with the music in the various places you go to on it?
