SNAAFU ADVENTURE version "Omg, A New Release!" is now out for play!

Changelog (09/03/10)

  • Sana's stats rebalanced
  • Hime's stats rebalanced
  • Alstroemeria's stats rebalanced
  • Hime's skillset revised:
    • Swordplay became Deathblow
    • Skills have massive damage potential, but have very high mana costs
  • Alstroemeria's skills have been buffed, and tweaked accordingly
  • Sana's Grave skill has been buffed
  • Sana now learns Lightning Bug at Lv45, and it has been buffed accordingly
  • Purvis now learns Highness Heal at Lv14
  • Purvis now learns Restore Faith at Lv18
  • Sapz's starting level reduced from 10 to 7
  • 2 New Playable Characters:
    • Roukan the Keeper's Templar (Skillset: Templar Skill)
    • Drake, Lady Luck (Skillset: Destiny)
  • Monsters in Spiemcie overworld now give more EXP and Pts
  • Game-breaking bug regarding Hime's "Caladbolg" now fixed
  • Earth Corruptor in Corrupted Scarlet Library now changed to Rizock

I know I've praised it a bit in IRC, but this thread needs more posts of input, I have to say I've really like what you've done with this game so far. It's humorous, fun, and just plain pleasant to play. I await the next demo and the eventually finished product with much anticipation. :3

I voiced my opinions on IRC before, but I think I'll say this again for good measure; I'm really loving this game here, Trance. A very fine game for me to immerse my interests into, great work.

Agreed. ...Though after the Tower of Ruse, Sana always seems to die of dysentery just before defeating a boss, so he doesn't get any EXP. Maybe I'm just underleveled.

I guess that's what the Lucky Egg is for, though!

If your party's hp/mp numbers aren't completely screwed, you could try running around hoping for level ups for the more mp-intensive characters like Hime and Rou (I personally ran circles in the boss room for Rou to get a level up to max her out before fighting the boss).  I found that Sana, Purvis, Alstro, and Sapz aren't as mp-dependent due to their cheap skill costs, so it's not as important for them to be maxed out on mp.

Of course, if everyone's running on empty, it might be hard fighting the battles to get those level ups.

Also, backup saving should be second-nature, especially when you encounter a teleporter that specifically warns that you can't return until your business in the dungeon is done.
Whether you're on Easy or you're a Lunatic, be damn proud of your accomplishments.  Don't let anyone convince you otherwise, for it's when you lose faith in your own achievements that those victories become defeats.

Daifukkatsu Black Label's Desperado?  Okay, I can do that.

Normal quality (1mb)
Lowest quality (0.7mb)

You might want to check them both, as they both haven't lost much at all; I can't pick up a difference, but you might be able to.  These files won't seem like they loop in a music player, but try importing them into VX and then playing them and listen to it looping (The change should be inaudible)

For those who want to use one of these in the current demo: rename the downloaded file as "Battle5.ogg", and then create a folder named "Audio" in the game's folder, and a subfolder in that called "BGM", and stick the file in there.  You'll have to have RPG Maker VX though, to go in and set the pitch back to 100%, or it'll sound a little sped up when it plays in game due to current settings - and since if you've got RMVX you probably know what to look for in the first place for importing the file normally too so... yeah.

    • Sana can learn 2 extra skills in this release. Sadly only 1 of them is actually relevant OHOHO
  • Alstroemeria's skillset rebalanced slightly, fixed a bug with Earth Strangle (targeted all enemies instead of one)
  • Fixed a bug with Purvis' Antidote skill (targeted enemies instead of allies)
  • Hime's skillset rebalanced, skills now deal more damage to suit the higher MP cost
