Good news, just finished the last major bit of hacking tonight. All the big stuff left to do is finish editing the level messages where necessary, and translating the images. Barring any unforeseen circumstances I'm hoping it should be ready within a month at most. If anyone wants to help speed things up, last I checked there were still some messages untranslated on the wiki.

ok, I've looked at the level 1 scene comments. These are taking longer than I expected :v

Maybe I should work on translating the manual and stuff first? (And generally the stuff that's stored in images.) I think I'm better at translating more technical-type stuff, and it probably takes longer to produce the translated images anyway. (Which is something I could do, if no one else really wants to.)

if you mean like where the game itself stores them, its inside mission.msg, although they're obfuscated.

speaking of, I just figured out how to fit more characters in for messages than the game normally allows so now I won't have to trim down most of the translations of the wiki, which was a monumental pain...

The image translation page has been an immense help so far, thanks to all who've contributed. My only request is that someone adds these two:

Once those are done and the last remaining mission comment is translated (11 - 6) I should have everything I need to finish the initial patch. Once I've got it done (maybe another week or so) I'll PM a few lucky so-n-so's to help test it out before the actual release.

Because I translated it as "picture" in the help texts. Obviously, if people think it should be changed to shoot (or "shot," to fit in with ZUN's own Engrish translation) or whatever, it should be changed.

"っぱなし" is a suffix used after a verb to modify its meaning to describe it as an action that's being continously done, rather than an action that comes to a conclusion. Mind you, it does not describe an action that's repeated over and over, but rather an action that never ends.

For example,　the verb ?おす? means "to press"--When used in a sentence, most people will assume that something will be pressed once and it will come to an end.

On the other hand, the verb "おしっぱなし?, derived from　?おす?, means "to keep pressing"--When that's used, people will know that something is being continously pressed down upon.


In your case, the "っぱなし" is most likely telling you to "keep holding down".

welp, I've started working on the actual patch. If anyone was still planning on making revisions to the translation on the wiki now'd be a good time to get that done, since I'm going to do a final run-through of it just before releasing the patch. Any translation updates past that will most likely only be included when I inevitably update the patch 10 times to fix bugs (fingers crossed).

I just went over all the spellcard translations on the wiki and tweaked the wording here and there/fixed the typos, so unless someone else wants to do a second check, I think those are good to go.
