Yes, but there are things that are still Eastern but not as far East as Japan (read, the rest of East Asia among other places) =P

You can't run a one person doujin circle, and I also don't do comics so yeah, comiket is pretty much impossible for me.

Less I resort to selling only picture books, and sketching picture books at that, no color at all.

I know, I feel uncomfortable with Pixiv, so I guess you guys would have to go for DevArt, plus, pressing the download button there gives you the full res. I think Pixiv has a size limits beside being too Jap I don't get it.

Vectors are usually solid color based images. Like line arts and some photoshop brushes.
The opposite image type would be pixel based. Ie bitmaps and jpegs.
