Minimal Graze
(1/2) > >>
stargroup:
I just thought of something. Most of these Touhou games give you score for grazing and stuff, which is logical, since you're risking your life to get close to the bullets. However, on harder difficulties and homing bullets, grazing actually makes your life easier.

So, how about a new type of challenge where we try to see who can get the LEAST amount of grazes, say, on a lunatic or extra stage?

This means minimal nudging hehe
Kefit:
Pilpsie did a low score IN Easy run a while back. An inherent part of scoring low is avoiding graze whenever possible.

This was on Easy, but I don't think such a challenge would be particularly interesting on higher difficulties, where graze is just the unavoidable result of constantly being surrounded by bullets. It might be interesting to theorize about an ideal Lunatic run, where bombs and deaths are planned out so as to bypass graze heavy areas and attacks, but I doubt anyone would want to actually pull it off or even watch it afterwords.
Zengeku:
Sounds like you want a run where people fly all around the screen looking like an idiot. At least thats how i imagine a run would look if it was done with the goal of grazing the least one is capable.

well then we can just make it also a no bomb challenge. people can't possibly have THAT many lives rofl.

mostly though, I'd love to see how people would do in streaming sections

They would die.

There are a lot of places in the series that killed me around 97% of the time before I realized they were streaming (including, I am ashamed to say, Wizard Fox Thoughts, which I pure-luck captured on my first try and then failed every time until I realized how incredibly stupid it was, or perhaps I was).  To try and do these without streaming results in you basically making a whole mess of bullets flying everywhere and trying to fit through ridiculous gaps - which, incidentally, you'll have to graze through.

I'm sorry, and I don't want to be mean, but this is a stupid idea.
