Problem running games 6, 7 and 8

So a while ago I went to Japan and bought those games. I didn't know at the time the PC was such an annoying thing when it comes to reading foreign software.

I have the CD, and when I double-click on the install file, I eventually get an error message(in japanese). When I try playing the game from the CD, I also get an error message(not the same one, still in japanese). When i use Applocale, I get the same messages and sometimes I get "Appllocale could not read this file", followed by some compatibility test, then the same error message. I tried putting the system in japanese, and I get the same japanese error messages.

Maybe I'm not using applocale well? The thing is, every applocale tutorial I find is rather old, and I'm using Windows 8. Also, I know nothing about windows architecture, since I've only owned Macs and bought this PC just to play games. I am familiar with line command/terminal usage, so if you have an idea using that, feel free to state it.

Any help would be welcome. And sorry if I posted in the wrong place, since it's my first time posting here.

Have a screenshot of the error so we can read it (or if it's in a windows popup, ctrl+c to copy the text)? This is likely a common issue but for the life of me I can't remember what it is.

Hrm... did you try running the installers in XP compatability mode?

May I ask what is XP compatibility mode? As I said, I know nothing about windows. Though I'll try finding on my own too.

(Hadoumeppuu didn't have a nice ring to it, so I chose another arte I liked.
BTW, I'm currently studying japanese, so if you have any tips, I'd be grateful.)

Hmm... I don't know if the installers themselves can run on 8; if I can find my installers I'll see if they do or not. It's possible that you'll have to skip the installer entirely.

Also this thread made the suggestion of "Run as Admin" for EoSD and PCB. Yeah it says Windows 7, but there's little difference between the two when it comes to actually running stuff.

フォルダが書込み禁止属性になっているか、ディスクがいっぱいいっぱいになってませんか?

It tells that that the game wasn't able to write config file for EoSD, stating that the game folder probably is working in read-only mode. So, in case of running the game directly from the CD it's understandable, you need to try and copy game folder from CD to your local drive.

It seems it tells that you're trying to run one more instance of the game while it's already running.

Pretty much the same as first, something doesn't allow the game to write data. If you get that message while trying to run the game from local disk then it's strange, probably you really need to use some administrator mode or something like this, I don't know.

I'm such an idiot, I didn't think about a simple solution simply because I didn't know it wasn't possible to play the game from the disk.

The Install app on the CD gave me error messages in both japanese and english, but for some reason, I didnt think of simply copying the Kouma file onto my computer, and then using applocale on the EOSD.exe. I had tried that method already, but it was before I knew anything about applocale.

Thanks to everyone. Now I'm gonna study with Minna No Nihonngo so that stuff like this doesn't happen again.
