> At first, it's just ankle deep water no matter where you go.  It's only when you go deeper into the gardens that you find yourself up to your knees, and then your waist in ice-cold water.  You come out in a clearing where a large, circular pond is criss-crossed by bridges that meet up at a gazebo in the middle.  The water is considerably deeper here: it's up over your head, and you find yourself completely submerged.
> It's honestly a little surreal.  You recognize this place, having been here for tea before.  Now it's underwater and abandoned.  The only other living things you see are tiny, transparent...shapes.  You've never seen fish like these before.  The biggest ones are just barely palm-sized.

> As you climb out of the pool, you think back to Yukari's whereabouts.  She's a powerful youkai and could probably fix a waterlogged book in no time at all, but you have no idea where she is.  A trip to Mayohiga would take half the day, and there's not enough daylight left for you to bother flying all the way out there.  Besides, there's not even a guarantee that she'd even be there.  It wouldn't be worth the effort to go all the way to her house just to find her shikigami's shikigami rolling around with a piece of yarn or something.

> You weigh in your other options.  Patchouli is basically the book master of Gensokyo.  She would know what to do.  There's also Kosuzu, but her shop is in the Human Village, which is currently underwater.  You wouldn't put it past her to be under a lot of stress from losing all of those books.

> The three of you are currently in that one particularly large room that is sort of like the hub to the rest of the Palace.  You can access the stairs, hallway to the front door, back door, and hallway to the kitchen from here.  It would take a minute tops to get to the kitchen from here.  You don't think Kasen would be happy if she ran into these two, though...
