Major changes:

New god: Ashenzari
Ashenzari is the god of curses and divination, who gifts a number of passive and active abilities in return for wearing cursed equipment, gaining knowledge, and exploring the dungeon extensively. The most significant of these passive abilities includes magic mapping, see invisible, clarity, and the active abilities of scrying, which allows the player to see through walls (though not to perform smite-based attacks), and transfer knowledge, which allows the player to improve one skill by sacrificing experience invested in another skill.

New race: Felids
These sentient furry felines are incapable of using rods, armour, wands or weapons, nor are they able to throw things, but are granted extra lives as they gain levels. These extra lives allow the player to escape death! As one might expect, felids are fast and come with claws and fangs, making them excellent at unarmed combat, and have excellent eyesight ? the ability to see invisible creatures.

The Enchantments school has been split into Charms and Hexes
While a significant and drastic change, it has certainly been long in the making: the Enchantments school contained a large percentage of the game?s spells, and was certainly a no-brainer in terms of experience usage.

Character backgrounds have been improved
 The Stalker background now focusses on transmutation for the purposes of stabbing. Makhleb and The Shining One are no longer accessible as starting gods as Paladins have been removed, and Chaos Knights are now worshippers of Xom, while the new class of Abyssal Knights provides access to Lugonu.

Heavy armour has been improved
 Guaranteed damage reduction has returned! The formula has been tweaked since the great armour nerf in version 0.6, making it more efficient again.

Sakuya's bonus damage for her skills from agility decreased from one bonus every 5 agility points to one bonus every 6 agility points
Sakuya's bonus magic damage from equipping a Mini Hakkero now does not stack multiplicatively with her intelligence bonus damage. The bonus magic damage from the Mini Hakkero is applied to her physical damage after taking agility bonuses into consideration but before intelligence bonuses are considered.

Byakuren recovers hp from each attack she makes and causes magic damage in an area around her target equivalent to the amount of hp that she recovers. Units caught in the area take half of this damage as magic damage.

More notes, especially about Yamame's fix and why the spiders spawn almost instantly now...
The original code never worked properly, not even on normal (non-bot) hosts. Spiders were supposed to spawn at intervals of 0.04s, 0.03s, 0.02s and finally 0.01s at levels 1, 2, 3 and 4 respectively. The design of the skill was such that all spiders would be spawned within 0.2s or 0.3s. However, the function that the devs used to time the interval has a lower limit of 0.1s. This meant that at level 1, your spiders take 0.5s to fully spawn and at level 4, it'd take 2.0s instead of 0.2s. That the difference is noticeable is a gross understatement. The spiders now spawn at the properly designated intervals

The calculation used for Murasa's splash damage in the original trigger also did not match the description of the skill. The skill's description indicates that the splash damage was to be 30, 50, 70 and 90 at levels 1, 2, 3 and 4 of her Spinach skill respectively. However, the calculation used was 30 + [Slvl*20] which would have led to splash damage values of 50, 70, 90 and 110 instead. When I fixed the trigger, I changed it to 10 + [Slvl*20]. Someone please introduce the devs to Arithmetic Progressions...

Minoriko's D skill's heal percentage was set to 2/4/6/8% of the target's max hp instead of 2.5/5/7.5/10%.

Level 3: Leeches 18 health per attack. Scythe swing does [230 + 1.6 x Bonus Strength] physical damage and further leechs 55 health.

Spirit Sign 'Abundant Floating Souls' (R)
Komachi draws out the souls of targets that she kills. Souls can be commanded to disperse, causing [60 + 3% x Target's Maximum Health] magic damage to units within 320 range. Souls are invulnerable and have 120 health and last longer when near Komachi. Activate this skill to command all souls to disperse.

Level 1: Keeps a maximum of 3 souls. Souls have a movement speed of 250.
Level 2: Keeps a maximum of 5 souls. Souls have a movement speed of 270.
Level 3: Keeps a maximum of 7 souls. Souls have a movement speed of 290.
Level 4: Keeps a maximum of 9 souls. Souls have a movement speed of 310.


Poor Fate 'Short Life Expectancy' (W)
Komachi appears next to her target in her capacity as a shinigami, stunning it for 1s and marks it for death, instantly removing half of its current health. For the next 10s, all healing spells will be ineffective on the marked target and any other regeneration effects will be halved.

So I saw this update and asked December about it - some of the devs have gone on vacation, so 0.978 will be delayed by quite a bit. Hence their decision to update 0.977g2 for the moment instead. v0.977h2 and v0.977i are expected within the next week or so. Oh well... In other news, I'm almost done with 0.977g2's translation. 0.977i should be the next translated map if all goes according to what I discussed with Dec and shouldn't take too long - the only changes to 0.977 maps hereon are just numerical tweaks.
