>You say your goodbyes and head into the bamboo. It is a little difficult to keep your course, after dodging around some of the thicker shoots, but the bamboo is light enough here that it's not too problematic. Soon, you can see the walls of a large wooden building up ahead through the bamboo. Then you hear barking close by.

>Does it seem to be approaching, or staying still?

>It seems to be coming roughly from that direction, though more ahead and to your left than straight ahead.
>It seems to be getting closer, judging from the bamboo crashing.

>How far away from Eientei are we?
>Look in the direction of the noise. Can we see anything coming, or is it too obscured by bamboo?

>Look in the direction of the noise. Can we see anything coming, or is it too obscured by bamboo?

>Not more than a few yards, you'd think.
>You look over, and there's definitely something coming, given how the bamboo is swaying, but you can't see it yet.

>Hold our ground, and keep an eye on the direction it's coming from
>Be ready to dodge if it's genuinely aggressive, rather than just territorial, but don't yet do anything that might be provocative.
>If we end up moving, make absolutely sure not to lose sight of which way Eientei is

>You stand your ground, and plot to dive the way there there's the least bamboo.
>Moments later, a large gray canine crashes through the bamboo, barking at you a from a few feet away, pausing to snarl every so often. That's a wolf, no doubt about it. A slightly chubby wolf, actually... Still he is most definitely barking and snarling at you.
