It' a cave. is the ground dirt? Cause if it is, the doll can write with just a stick.

> We probably don't need that newspaper fragment anymore, so if there's any room on it we could have the doll write on that.

> Open the letter and look inside. If Hourai protests, tell her, "Hey, if this is pretty urgent, it's better that someone helps you get to where you need to be quickly, right?"

> The fairies talk amongst themselves, but Cirno suddenly gets the expression of someone who has remembered something.
> "That's...the mansion right next to the hideout!" she cries.
> You open the letter.  Hourai panics and flies up to snatch the letter back, but she floats back down to the ground when you talk to her.
> Inside is a very neatly-written letter.  How formal.

Dearest Patchouli,

It has not been more than a week since I have sent my last letter, but I would still request the status of yours, your assistant?s, and their well being.  I know that you are frail of health and you have a bloodthirsty monster running amok in your library, so this is but one matter of grave importance.

The second matter I would like to address is that the shell that I have been painstakingly been working on for the past four months has finally been completed.  With that out of the way, I can begin my next projects, and hopefully there will be less of a rush for you to contact Mother.  As you reminded me in your last letter, you are still rewriting several important tomes and dealing with a mysterious shortage of candles.

On the subject of shortages, I am seeing a rapid decline of dolls from London fleet, and only the London fleet.  All of my dolls are wired so that they may find their way home with no troubles, and yet only 46% of the London fleet is accounted for.  At this point I must conclude that this is theft.  Given their purpose of scouting, searching, and reconnaissance missions, I cannot help but be perplexed by this situation.  A certain someone seems to think that planting copious amounts of flowers in my front yard is a sufficient replacement for the missing dolls, but it just gives the other fleets more work to do.  That certain someone also gave me a lovely golden bracelet.  But I digress.

A strange man turned up at my door earlier, asking about Marisa.  Regretfully, I had to tell the truth.

I am sending Hourai to deliver this to you, but I will have to send her back later to pick up your reply.  I am killing two birds with one stone by training her to be as skillful as the London fleet in searching while sending her to pick up my medication at the same time.  I do not regret this decision; I can go a few more nights without sleep.

Hourai knows the way to your library, and has been instructed to go there first thing, you needn't worry about her failing to deliver the letter.

Yours truly,
Alice Margatroid

> There's a loud chorus of agreement when you ask if the Scarlet Devil Mansion is really next to the hideout.
> You tell Hourai the good news, and she nods slowly.  You then ask her about the dolls that the fairies have brought out, and she seems to perk up.  She shuffles around in the dirt near them.
> 'Tibet' is written next to the red doll, 'Holland' is written next to the orange doll, 'France' is written next to the gold doll, 'London' is written next to the green doll, 'Russia' is written next to the blue doll, 'Kyoto' is written next to the purple doll, and 'Orleans' is written next to the white doll.  It looks like she has these names ground into her memory, the way she writes them.

> Crap.  Weren't we chased out of there earlier?
> Count our spell cards just in case.

> Yes, and that was because you kicked in both of their doors and hawked a bottle of wine.  Or they were just in a bad mood that day, it's hard to tell.

Spellcards:

> Green-eyed Monster
  > Bullets that actively chase the target and leave a trail.
> Shiro's Ashes
  > Aimed bubbles that leave a trail of flowers.  They disappear when they turn red.
> Large Box and Small Box
  > Summons a mirror of yourself to shoot bullets alongside you.  If the mirror is hit, she shoots more bullets.
> Midnight Anathema Ritual
  > A stream of nails that send out more bullets that scatter around.

> Hey, we don't need to do anything. Hourai can get inside on her own.

> Well, good point.  The bloodthirsty monster this 'Alice' person mentioned leaves you suspicious, though.
