>"Ok, good enough. Wish me luck!"
>Head outside
>Look for a path up the mountain
>Follow it

>"Don't get into too much trouble," says Nitori.
>You return outside and look around for a path further along the mountain. It doesn't take very long to find one, and you continue onward. The past wends and twists its way upward, following along the river. Soon, the river comes to an end at a waterfall; the roar of it practically noticeably from the kappa village. Tumbling down hundreds of feet, it sends mist spraying into the air, sparkling countless diamonds. You've never seen a waterfall this size before, and it is hard to look away. But eventually you tear your eyes from it. The mountainside is intimidatingly steep, though you can see a path leading up, and a stairway fut into the rock here and there. Other paths branch off every so often, heading toward the south. Near the summit, you can see many small buildings, and tiny figures flying about. You get the feeling this part of the trip may be best taken from the air. Obvious exits are South 1, South 2 East, and West.

>Well, take to the air, then. Better that than slip off into the waterfall.
>Continue towards the summit
>Keep an eye out for anyone that might be objecting to our presence here

>You take to the air, quite glad not to have to walk up all that. Thank heaven you didn't wake up here, before you learn to fly.
>You continue toward the summit, and soon see a figure moving to intercept you from the air. As she draws closer, you can make out a red and black dress and  white blouse. As well, you can see a white tail, fluffy and frankly adorable, as well as white canine ears on top of her her head. Her hair matches the color of her tail, cut short. You also notice she has a rather large sword at her hip, and a shield in one hand.
>"Halt!" She calls. "The city is closed to outsiders at this time!"

>You stop. The woman, tengu you suppose, stops a couple yards from you. She frowns at you a little, but doesn't seem particularly hostile toward you.
>"Order of Lord Tenma," she says. "No outsider may enter at this time."
>You give a quick explanation. She quirks her lips. "Are you a follower of Lady Kanako?"

> "That's, uh, quite the sword you have there."

>She flicks her right ear. "Are you a swordswoman?"

>"I'm afraid I've never actually met her. But does Lord Tenma's order include turning people away from the shrine?"

(No point in trying to bluff here, I think, given that Kanako herself will be well aware that we are not a follower)

>"We do not turn away followers," says the tengu, "But if you are not a follower, you are not under that edict's protection."

>Rather, politely withdraw, if we can't negotiate.

>Preemptively shank self and save Parsee the trouble. She's got enough problems to deal with at the moment.

>"This is retarded, you're retarded," says the Tengu as she stabs you. "Thanks for saving me the paperwork."
