> "I hate to be a bother, but could I please get a tea from you?"

>"You want some tea?" Reimu shrugs. "As good a reason as any to take a break." She starts down the path toward the shrine. "Come on in. You like sugar with your tea? Milk?"

> "Some milk if you have it, thank you."
> Follow Reimu inside.
> Remember: get second cup afterward to bring to Meiling.

>You follow Reimu into the shrine.
>The Shrine interior is small and a bit drafty. A table with a comforter thrown over it serves as a crude kotatsu, while a small brazier burns in the corner. Next to the brazier is a large shapeless something with a blanket thrown over it. A small stove with a kettle rests on the opposite side of the shrine, with a cupboard over it. There is a door to the south. Obvious exits are west, south, and east.
>Reimu fetches some cups and a box of tea, and then bustles out the east door, and pulls a bottle of milk from a pile of snow. She then assembles and pours the tea, leaving the milk bottle by your spot on the kotatsu. "I don't see you come out this way much, to be honest," says Reimu as she settles in. "Isn't Eirin using making you slave over some thing or another and calling it training?"

>You examine the large thing with a blanket thrown over it. You really can't determine what it is.
>"That's my turtle," says Reimu, noticing you looking toward it. "He's hibernating."

> "It sounds a lot worse than it is. If even half the stuff that goes around about me were true I would've left Eientei a long time ago...or just removed myself from Gensokyo entirely, one way or the other."

>Reimu nods as you clarify the situation. "Shows what rumors are worth, I suppose. Well, you're probably still one of the most sane people around here, so I guess they can't be too hard on you."
>"Oh those fuckers," says Reimu, her face souring "They've been spying on me all winter with those UFO things. And then they go and deny it and try to pretend nothing's happening when I go and physically bring one of the things with me and show them. And you know what Suika found out this morning? They're trying to get the Moriya Shrine to side with them! Good thing Kanako's smart enough to see the writing on the wall, but it still burns me up. How would you like it if someone was trying to turn your friends against you like that? I've got half a mind to go give that overgrown jerk a spellcard or three in the face."

> "Do those things really work as communication devices?"

>"Probably," says Reimu after sipping her tea. "We all have things we do when we're on our own. And people don't act naturally when they know you're watching them. As for what they hope to gain, you probably ought to ask them that."

>Reimu is quiet for a moment. "She was here the day that they showed up," says Reimu, slowly. "I was feeding some rabbits that showed up, taking some time off. And she showed up and joined in with them. I didn't think anything about it, it was just to have a bit of fun on a hot day. And then later on Tenshi found that UFO in the woods off to the side. Patchouli was there both times, now that I think about it, too."
>She takes a moment to sip her tea. "As far as I know, though, neither of them know how to do anything with those UFOs. But I suppose it's possible they could figure it out. If they're behind this, so help me I'm going to bury 'em both up to their necks and convince Letty and Kanako to whip up a blizzard."

>You quickly head back to the Scarlet Devil Mansion. It is not a short trip, but it's fairly straight forward, following the road from town south to the lake, and then going around it. You note that Letty is still where you left her, sipping slushwater and nursing her hangover, she gives you half-hearted wave.
>You return to the gates of Scarlet Devil Mansion, and find Meiling there as usual. "Hey Reisen," she says. "Didn't think you were going to show up again so soon."

>"Sure, we can talk to her now. We'll need the cup back when you're done, just so you know, as we borrowed it from Reimu, but I hope you enjoy it"

>"No problem," says Meiling, as she fiddles with something on the gate. "I'll have it done by the time you leave."
>After a moment, one of the maids emerges from the mansion. She curtsies as Meiling opens the gate, then leads you inside.
>You pass through the mansion foyer's, where you can see a number of expensive-looking statues, paintings, and other assorted artworks on display, as well as a few halls and a set of grand-looking staircases that curl up to a second floor landing. As the maid leads you to a set of double doors under the landing, you note a dog basket in the corner, looking very out of place with the artworks.
>The maid leads you into the library. Shelves upon shelves of books line the walls, while rows of bookcases on the floor create a virtual labyrinth of literature. Here and there, you see some reading tables and comfortable-looking chairs. The air is amazingly dry and clean, it feels like the air on the moon, in the dust fields far from civilization or the mares. Possibly even more dry that that. Obvious exits are north.
>You see Patchouli sitting at a long table, surrounded by books and drinking from a heavy-looking Commemorative Stein. You catch a glimpse of Marisa at a nearby shelf, carrying a few dozen pounds of books with one hand as though they were nothing. Patchouli looks up at you as you approach, giving you an appraising look. "Have a seat," she says at length, as the maid quietly departs. "You wanted to speak with me?"
