Koumajou 2/Touhouvania: Stranger's Requiem Crashing
« on: October 22, 2016, 06:34:25 AM »
So I tried playing Stranger's Requiem and I ended up with a problem that makes the game unplayable past the first screen.

As soon as I kill the Urn (marked with the red arrow) or pass the purple line, my game crashes, and gives the generic "Program has stopped working" message.

I've tried playing in Japanese locale, as an admin, in Japanese locale as an admin, and messing around with the settings, but none of that worked.

My computer specs are:
OS: Windows 8.1
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4210M CPU @ 2.60GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.6GHz
Memory (RAM): 8192MB
Direct X Version 11
Graphics Card: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600
Display Memory: 1792 MB
Screen Resolution: 1366x768

If anyone has any ideas on what to do, please lemme know.

Drake

Uhh, have you tried reinstalling, I guess? I haven't heard of this issue before.

Just tried reinstalling, and I also learned the game crashes a bit after I throw knives too.
EDIT 1: I can get past the purple line if I stop time on the reinstalled version, but getting hit or killing anything else crashes the game too.
EDIT 2:There's also a chance that stopping time or starting the intro scene also crashes the game. When time resumes, the game crashes too.
