This new person is their own independent person, though they know who they're made up of, and while the original people that make up the new people aren't really knowingly there anymore, they can still hear each other's thoughts and learn each other's secrets, sort of. Mostly they gain that knowledge once the perfect fusion separates back into the original people. If they ever do. Did you all see the tengu lady with ten arms? She's a perfect fusion of three other tengu. She's been around for several days, and has really become her own person, well aware that she's a new person that isn't really actually any of the people that make her up.
