It's really annoying and I hate to have to play the game on mute.

You're not using the super outdated english patch, right? It was made for 1.04b and hasn't been updated since AFAIK. (I say this because I accidentally started the game with the english patch exe recently and it gave me 1 second music loops)

We do have both a tech support subforum and a hopeless masquerade thread already, though...
