well i for one am very happy Rose is still alive and able to kick ass

and, correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't we see John alive in the future(ie after this incident) when Karkat was having his first conversation with him?

if so, doesn't that mean John comes out of this alive?

i might be confused though so forgive me if i'm wrong

Besides, Doc Scratch comes across as one of those people who, when they say they do not lie, are serious about it, even if it doesn't seem to make 100% sense. Like ReV from motk mafia. Besides, when you are omniscient, you don't really need to lie to make people do what you need them to :3

As such, I am willing to trust he knows his god tiers. But given that the disc is damaged, who knows what may go haywire?

My impression that the disc being scratched isn't actually affecting anything that was happening, just the readers' ability to observe it.

The "unmotivated" bit confuses me. We know he at least takes some damage, because when he shows up to beat up on the trolls he's bloody. Why would a good fight unmotivate him?

I thought that 1. it was someone else's blood, and 2. the current narration was drawing a parallel between Rose and Vriska (who was unmotivated by her duel with Tavros).
