Your right it does. the old version I used to use that came with XP was vastly superior in my eyes. Looked almost proffesional, when it wasn't crashing.

Yeah, the encoding was crap, final file always had shitty quality, but editor-wise it was nice.

Myself, all I have to do is start playing the video in my browser, and then open my /tmp directory. The video downloads there automatically.

Hahah, that's pretty much what we siblings did before the boom of YouTube video downloader softwares or something a few years back xD. It's inaccessible until the whole video's been buffered/loaded.
...except now we don't do it anymore because for some weird reason it being a "raw" FLV/MP4 video doesn't play in our home computer anymore =.=

Vista's one constantly screws up aspect ration and likes adding weird stuff on videos.
In some of my videos i made some time back, half the screen was green in color (wtf)

Windows Live Movie Maker has a ton more functions and knick-knacks than the previous incarnation and works just fine. I literally used it TODAY to create a video. Hell, I even used it for my entry. No crashing. No hitches. No problems. Final product quality looks just fine. I don't know why you're having the problems that you do, but I assure you that if you're going to complain about any of the Live software, Movie Maker really shouldn't be one of them.

While Guile's theme does go with everything, that makes it difficult to find scenes that it would go well with that aren't already done. I though about putting it in this EX-Rumia short a few months ago, then thought Akuma's would do better given the video itself (Sudden boss change, the music basically meaning you're fucked, changing to the Heavy Damage music when Reimu's balls get deflected), and finally scrapped that idea. I'd try to make it again for this, but I'd be using the wrong theme.

I never said the NEWER one had a stability problem, I said the older one did, and that the older one was better on the interface.

the new live movie maker goes the new "clean shiney interface" way of thinking. and the sooner they kick out whatever bastard thought of this idea from every company doing it the better.

Admittedly, they do look pretty these interfaces. Hell I love how 7 looks.

but if you cut the functionality as a result or end up making it more difficult to do what you want properly, say in movie maker, or ANY of the new office products when compared to 2003 especially...

anyway this is turning into a tangent rant.

Put into a simple form - I hate the way the timeline is set up now. Its difficult to do what you want with it.the filmreel way it used to be in the advanced mode is a shit load better, and if live has it, I sure has hell can't find the bloody option to turn it on.
