I like it. There's a very distinct motif of attacking a tremendous repressive force head on. It bears a hot-blooded, defiant, and determined feeling that I enjoy.

I too find it hard to believe (but not impossible, of course) the first episode failed to leave you with some strong impression. I was literally one with the townspeople when the wall broke down.

Yeah, from what I heard I was kind of expecting to like it more than I did. I usually give TV four episodes before I really make a call on whether or not I like it though, so I'll give it some time. I have some groundless or nearly groundless guesses about where the plot is going, so I at least want to see if I'm right.

I like this anime, I really do. It departs from the standard clich? of fanservice everywhere and really goes into plot and character development. I've been reading the manga as well, and watching the anime after doing so reveals so many things that I missed the first time, hints and foreshadowing that I missed. The titans are quite a special case of creature as well, and its nice to see things about them be justified in-universe and lampshaded as well.

I should be studying for my last exam for this semester and writing an essay, but I can't concentrate on either so I watched the next episode. It was okay. I liked it a little more. Can definintely see why others like this show, but I'm still not hooked yet. I don't think it probably matters that much, but what period of time was the second episode supposed to take place over? It seemed like just a couple of days, but the voiceover made it sound like much longer than that.

The second episode takes place exactly as the time after the Colossus-class disappeared, the second was sent in to finish the job. at least that is what I think, because you have gotta be an idiot to have your civilians wait for a second round while evacuating.

yeah, he's most likely a lower-ranking nobleman in the core of the walled city. I don't remember seeing that scene in the manga, so perhaps this was added in to give us some insight into Prixis and where he was before the battle began?

Now, I'm VERY interested in seeing how the next episode plays out, especially wherever or not they follow the chapters that closely...
