Most of our discussions take place either in the WuftD Chatroom (http://amarilloviridian.co.cc/chat/) or on IRC, server dejatoons, channel #touhou-meido.

So inspired by a discussion with fellow mecha nuts, we decided to start a new RPG, mostly for fun off course. We'll see how this goes.

I'm here to describe the game mechanics, which are exceedingly simple. Etch-A-Sketch will go on to describe the setting. All of this is still going through a lot of back-and-forth development so any suggestions before we start up would be great!

The game will be a freeform RPG. For those of you who've played Waking up from the Dream, you'd have a general idea of what this is like. Basically, it'll be  something like a big collaborative fanfiction project written by many authors. 

General theme will be lighthearted comedy, with plenty of action with and without mechas, with some serious, epic moments, some slice of life, and potential for romance.

You will be a mecha pilot. Your background will be up to you, whether you were a simple civilian, a defecting pilot/lowly grunt from another faction, a wanderer, a war-criminal, a prisoner of war, etc.

Your mecha is the latest, most advanced weapon ever designed by the kappas, powered by 'mana cores'. They tower at about 15 meters tall on average, about 4 stories high.

You will be required to select partners (yes, Touhou characters, ala 'Waking up from the Dream') as follows:

Your mecha will be a two-seater, which means you will have to select a partner to pilot it with. Your co-pilot will be tasked with 'speaking' to your mana core, acting as a medium to input the controls into the mecha. Thus how much of the mecha's potential you can exploit will largely depend on your synchronization with your co-pilot. Thus building your relationship with your partner will be the key to unlocking the mana core's vast potential.

Furthermore, you will be required to select characters for your support team, which will consist of a combat analyst and an engineer for your mecha. The combat analyst's role will be to give you a battlefield overview, pinpoint tactical analysis and updates of your enemy's capabilities, positions, and status, make you coffee, as well as help you work out personal strategies in combat. The engineer is in charge of maintaining your mecha and its mana core outside of combat and to give you updates and overviews on your mecha's status, weapons, damage, etc. in combat. Again, there is some element of understanding which can be a boon in battle, which off course relies on relationship building.

Whichever partner you choose for a role, they will have at least some basic skills at the task in question. So don't worry if you choose, say, Remilia as your engineer or Yuyuko as your analyst, they will have some basic knowledge of how to hold a wrench the right way around or at least not get you killed. Plus they can always learn on the job, which will be great for character development.

It is possible to alternate co-pilots, such that your analyst or engineer can take on the role of co-pilot from time to time.

Also, if you wish to work with smaller teams, you can have your partners take on double roles. However, you must have at least one partner.

If there are leftovers partners later then there may be the option of recruiting more pilots and co-pilots under your command as wingmen and create mini-squadrons of your own.

Setting:
In the future, humanity has gone beyond the limits of Earth and began colonizing the outer reaches of the solar system. In the inner solar systerm, powerful corporations rose to take control and took control as governments. In the outer reaches,  the colonies on the moons of Jupiter united and established a nation that rivaled the power of the corporations in the inner solar system. However, in order to maintain order, power was placed with a select few. The colonists on Europa rebelled against the United Republics and fought to gain control of the moon. The Corporations and the United Republics of Jupiter fight over the ever dwindling resouces needed to keep nations alive and money flowing.

Throughout the solar system, radicals fight to liberate the people from the oppression of the United Republics and the Corporations. However, many of them strive to protect the remaining resources and nature. Calling themselves the Liberators of Eden, they hide out throughout the asteroid belt. It is also rumored that they hide out in the Kuiper belt on the outside solar system.

The Corporations and the United Republics facilitate war with large space fleets and mechas. Yeah, they fight with Mechas. Each of the factions have differing styles of combat, unique yet effective in their own way. While the Corporations fight against each other and the United Republics, there are certain things which are sold amongst eachother. Business is business after all.

In a separate pocket of reality, there existed a place, untouched by industry. Protected by powerful borders, it remains untouched as life continues it slow pace. This is the world known as Gensokyo. In the battle for resources amongst the Corporations and the United Republics, Gensokyo would find itself with a large number unwanted visitors. In response, the inhabitants of Gensoky built a massive ship and fled to find new life, but there would be very little rest in the unforgiving reaches of space.

 
The Factions

Terran Munitions Corporation

One of the major Corporations to form a government, the Terran Munitions Corporation holds a powerful monopoly over heavy explosives. Specializing in heavy artillery, Terran Munitions is the largest producer of mass drivers. Despite being the largest producers of mass drivers, Terran Munitions is most famous for the Bunker Buster, a type of close quarters ram capable of busting all but the heaviest of armor.

Lunar Corporation

The Lunar Colony rose to wealth thanks to the efforts of the Lunar Corporation. The Lunar military consists of the latest technology brought forth from the Lunar Corporations R&D Department. Because of the low gravity, testing munitions would take forever, and time is money. Instead, the Lunar Corporation deals mainly in energy-type weaponry, such as Plasma cannons. It's only a rumor, but it is said that an energy sword, known as a Warp Saber, is being developed.

Martian Foundries Corporation

Mars is rich in minerals, making Mars an ideal place to develop heavy armour. The Foundaries of Mars pump out hundreds of Heavy mechas as well as the feared Titan. Martian Foundaries is also the main producers of railguns in the solar system and pioneered the Drone-Pod technology. Martian Foundaries are also the lead producers in ECM weaponry. It is rumored that there is a weapon in the works that allows a mecha to take control of another mecha, but there is no evidence to support this claim.

United Republics of Jupiter

The scientists in the URJ work hard to make weapons capable of rivaling the Corporations. So far, they've done pretty well with what they already have. The enormous Mecha army and space fleets are made possible by the foundaries of Io. Scientist have created a chassis capable of rivaling the Martian Corporation's Titan, the Izangi. The R&D department of the URJ's most feared weapon is a blade which can cut almost anything. It is also said that the URJ is working on a weapon capable of wielding the sun's power.

Europa Rebellion

The rebellion on Europa began a few years ago, but have gained great power over those few years. While it is not enough to insure independance, the colonists are able to hold their own against the URJ military. They regularly obtain supplies from the Corporations, in exchange for money. Business is business, after all.

Liberators of Eden

The Liberators of Eden are a radical group whse mission is to protect the dwindling natural resouces left in the Solar System. As a result, they mainly rely on energy based weaponry, making Lunar Corporation convoys favorite targets of Liberators. This does not mean, however, that mass drivers are not used. The Liberators of Eden are few, meaning that they can only do hit and run tactics, unlike the massive fleet doctrines of the larger militaries. As a result, their forced consist of light and medium sized mechas, adapted for high manouverablilty. It is said that they have their hands on cloaking technology, but there are no recorded accounts of this.

Gensokyo Coalition

In order to escape the destruction wrought by the wars between the Corporations, the inhabitants of Gensokyo created a large ship to escape the wars. The border to Gensokyo was openned, and the Colony Ship Gensokyo fled. The inside of the ship had most of Gensokyo preseved in the main dome of the ship while other areas consisted of weapon magazines, hangar bays, and other stuff like that. Mechs are made upon order, so there is a large degree of customization involved.

Kawashiro Heavy Industries
The brainchild of Nitori Kawashiro and Yukari Yakumo, a coalition of Gensokyo's brightest minds which gave birth to the Gensokyo Colony Ship. They are Gensokyo's chief producer of weaponry, particularly the Nachtwanderlied Marionette tactical weapon initiative. Their specialize in energy-based equipment centered around mana cores. Their most notable creation was the Kappa Tech Optical Camouflage system capable of rendering the user entirely invisible to the naked eye.

The homebase starship setting:

Our homebase will be the Gensokyo. It is mostly a small colony ship with a gigantic biodome housing Gensokyo itself, still the beloved paradise of human, youkai, fairies, etc. alike. The ship was built on the behest of Yukari, who, fearing for Gensokyo's safety, had the entire land be loaded onto a starship built with divine kappa ingenuity and sent out to the farther reaches of the solar system.

The starship deck beyond the biodome houses many useful facilities such as the command bridge, war room, hangar bay, engine room, etc. But most importantly, it houses the 'Divine Mana Core', a powerful artifact which made the Starship Gensokyo possible. The Divine Mana Core is a nigh inexhaustible source of power which powers the biodome and provides it with everything it needs to sustain itself.

...which is perhaps what made the starship the target of the many factions that now inhabit the solar system...for the Divine Mana Core is the key to solving their Resource War, born of the scarcity of natural resources and the imminent doom of the destruction of the human race.

Now the ship and its brave pilots must fight to defend their home, their lives, and their future...

Amaterasu Heavy Cruiser Capital Class Ship

A new homebase when we're out on missions, as dragging the entire colony ship around would be cumbersome at best, risky and dangerous at worst.

The Amaterasu, a Kawashiro Heavy Industries Surveyor Ship, modified into a Heavy cruiser capable of combat. It is the first combat-able capital-class ship designed in Gensokyo, designed in a rather ad-hoc manner after the Avalon Invasion.

The ship is somewhat smaller than most other military super capital ships of other factions, though still significantly larger than most cruiser-class ships. However, it boasts superior speed, maneuverability, as well as stealth and Kawashiro Heavy Industries' pride and joy, the Kappa Tech Optical Camouflage system. As such, it is the perfect platform to launch recon and hit-and-run missions.

It is outfitted with the following weaponry:

It is also fitted with a spacious Nachtmare hangar bay and comfortable habitation quarters for long-duration voyages.

Nachtwandlerlied Marionette (Nightwanderer Doll) AKA NachtMare or Nightmare:
Mechas powered by mana-cores. Currently exclusively wielded by the Gensokyo Coalition. So-called due to them being the only means by which the people of Gensokyo can fight out beyond the safety of their homeland's barrier, in a world of 'night'.

Linker: The co-pilots in Nachtmares, whose task is to converse with the mana core and act as the medium through which the pilot inputs orders into the Nachtare.

Knights: Those who pilot Nachtmares.

Sanctuaries/Havens/Anomalies
The many sealed worlds sent out into outer space by their respective denizens in search of peace and tranquility. These are mythical paradises like Avalon, Shangrilla, Ryūgū-jō, El Dorado, Nirvanah, Shamballah, Olympus, Asgard, Vanaheim, Tir Na Nog, Atlantis, etc. Gensokyo, off course, is only one of many. The outsiders refer to these as 'Anomalies'.

Solar Frame
Mechas wielded by the humans. These come in many varieties and configurations. Most are powered by conventional means, such as batteries and fusion cores.

Mecha Type:
Light - light frame, with thin gangly limbs and a streamlined, aerodynamic body, built for agility and speed. Very weak armour. For fairy-types who like to weave through the enemy like the wind.
Medium - Frame with a medium build, with heavier armour and more solid limbs, but still somewhat aerodynamic. It strikes a balance between speed and armour. For general fast-paced warrior types who like to strike a balance between blasting the crap out of their enemies and getting up close and personal.
Heavy - a frame laced with heavy armour plates. The mecha is big and bulky, built for endurance, resistance and strength rather than speed. For those who think big is better.
Very Heavy - A frame built like a tank. Agility and Speed is for cowards. This monstrosity takes on heavy weapons fire and eats it for breakfast.

An innate sense for battle honed through 6 years fighting as a footsoldier and later as a mercenary. ...or is it just insanity parading as such?
Battlefield survival and vicious merciless tactics are his forte. Or at least, that's what other people see. Really, he's just the sort of idiot who'd continue kicking you in the kidneys when he's already blown them out of your guts with a howitzer.
He is also a devout follower of the way of the towel, fiercely believing that all his years of survival he owes to his favourite blue fluffy towel, adorned with little white froggies. The towel is now so worn and discoloured that it can act as camouflage in almost any environment. He is also an expert in close-quarters-towel-combat, or CQTC for short, a martial arts technique developed for use by only the most ardent followers of the ways of the Towel.

Weakness:
He has always been a lowly grunt all his life and has never touched a Solar Frame, let alone a Nachtmare (except with a huge anti-frame grenade).
Thus he has little to no piloting skills whatsoever. Secondly, he has never protected anything but himself in his life. Thus fighting for anything other than survival, let alone to defend an entire colony ship, is a concept entirely foreign to him.

He is also hopelessly attached to his towel collection, particularly his froggie towel. He also has a hopeless penchant for frog legs, something that Suwako considers pure cannibalism.

While he isn't exactly stupid, he likes to let his instincts get the better of him. He acts first, thinks later.

Visual Description: A boy of average height, unkempt jet black hair parted down the middle, wears a pair of tinted glasses now due to eye damage caused by excessive exposure to hostile environments. He is always seen with his favourite grayish blue towel slung over his shoulders. He wears a dark gray jacket over a grayish blue shirt and a pair of heavy-duty trousers. He is also always smiling his trademark 'Kitsune' (foxy) smile.

Personality:
In combat, he is ruthless and merciless, resorting to the most vicious underhanded tactics possible. If he can throw sand in your face, he will. If he can poke you in the eyes, he will. If he can steal your cake, he will. If he can get you to watch spiderman 3, he will. Anything for survival in this dog-eat-dog world, after all. He is a master of survival, having escaped death on even the bloodiest of battlefields.

Frame pilots have learned to fear him as the 'Frame-Reaper', the footsoldier known for the highest kill and survival rates in on-foot engagements against Solar-Frames. Then again, maybe it's so because nobody else is stupid enough to attack a Solar Frame on foot. Furthermore, nobody's stupid enough to do so using a grenade, packing tape, and a folding pin.

But that was on foot....a nachtmare was a completely different beast....

He is, however, quite the unrealistic optimist. He's quick to amuse and easy to grin. But that's probably just all the pink hippos dancing. Nobody can ever quite guess what's going on behind that foxy grin of his....

....probably just plain chaos....

He is generally mild-mannered outside of battle. He doesn't care for much aside from him
self...not out of selfishness, but merely due to the fact that he has never learnt of the concept of caring for others. Personal survival was everything to him, to the point where he had forgotten what he was surviving for.

...that was until the day he met Suwako, Tenshi and Yukari....

I said no frogs!  Gap Express <3 Marsh-Mal-lows perhaps? Towel Circus?  Pain and Peaches! We are not naming this team PEACHES!  Huh? Wut?!  Densha Otome, desho? Ministry of Corn, because The Amphibian Movement Will you people make up your mind? Froggy and?. Shut up!  FUBAR, the team that runs on tea, sake, peaches, and general madness.

It?s easy enough to explain away the reason why such an unlikely cast managed to come together to form this traveling circus of a team ? they were all victims of fate?

But that?s a lie. That?s a terrible lie.

The truth is, fate doesn?t do shit like this. It wont' touch shit like this with a 20 foot pole and a biohazard suit. Rather, it takes shit like this and shoots it at heavy booster units and watches to see what comes out the other side.

No, they came together because nobody else wants them on their teams. Yes, this is the reject pile, by rejects, for rejects.

Nobody wants Suwako because she?s made of concentrated sugar, topped with sugar, with a side of sugar. They say that the reason the Noble White lacked a pilot up till now is because whoever tried, male or female, would either die in a diabetic coma or moe-splode majorly. Some people, who other people consider insane, say that the Noble White?s so-called nosebleed buster cannon is an actual nosebleed shed by some poor unlucky sod stuck in the same cockpit as Suwako.  Besides, she talks to her Nachtmare and shares her cookies and milk with it. That?s creepy.

Nobody wants Yukari because she?s a manipulative middle-aged b**** who can?t stop chuckling ominously at every single little thing you say, as if every little breath you?re taking is a step closer to some giant mousetrap she kindly set up for you. Besides, she has a bad habit of molesting anything and everything, male or female, living or inanimate. She's so infamous that she has been banned for life from every single public bath in Gensokyo. Nobody wants to be stuck in the same ship as her, let alone the same cockpit.

Nobody wants Tenshi because all she has in her brain is peach puree and all she ever wishes is to be made into peach puree. Nobody else could get so bored that they?d stick their hand in a cageful of hungry weasels on purpose. Besides, nobody could stand that godawful racket of a song she always plays when she?s co-piloting, something titled ?Get Down? or similar. Some believe it?s a form of psychological warfare. Some (more rightly) believe that she simply enjoys the painful headache. Many believe this is specifically the reason why the Celestials dumped her and left her with the Gensokyoites - to spare themselves the agony while slowly killing the Gensokyoites through mind-rape.

Nobody wants Trent because he?s a Trent.

While none of them seem to be aware of this fact, they still seem to stick together somehow. Was it the tea and sake? Was it the cake? Or was it the general lack of actual leadership in the team that kept them together? Well, Tenshi would like to think she's the leader. Yukari thinks she's manipulating Tenshi into believing she's the leader while following her whims. Suwako knows better though....'kero~'. As for Trent, he's just following the voice of the towel which is telling him that there might be cake and frog legs for him at the end of this, no matter how much Suwako tells him otherwise....

Raised in the dingy backstreets of the Jupiter atmospheric mining colony Antillia I, he had been tempered very early on in his life by the harshness of day to day survival amongst the rough miners, rogues, thugs, pink hippos, red elephants, pancakes and occasional ex-cons from the nearby Io prison complex. When Antillia 1 was raided and practically destroyed by a terrorist invasion from the Europan Rebellion and the ensuing crossfire between them and the URJ military, he was taken in by the Europan Rebels as a child soldier at the age of 13.

....oh boy, did the Europan rebels regret it....they didn't know what hit them until it was too late...

From then on he was tempered into a hardened(?) footsoldier capable of braving(??) the fiercely cold tundras of Europa to fight on foot against the better-equipped URJ military who wielded Solar Frames. Hundreds of them would go out against small URJ skirmish squadrons and only a handful would come home each day (nobody ever said it was the URJ who wiped them out...). It was a powerful, cruel system of natural selection, ensuring that only the hardiest soldiers would survive to fight on. The others simply suffered from unmanly things like, y'know, 'death'.

It wasn't long before he was able to start selling his services to the highest bidder as a mercenary (mostly cause nobody wanted him for any longer than they needed). He fought for both the URJ, the other factions intervening in the conflict, and even the Europan rebels despite the fact that they a bunch of soddin' giraffes had ruined his life. It didn't matter. Their cash was as cold and green and nice-smelling as everybody else's. Before long, he had become known and feared as the 'Frame Reaper', the foot-soldier with the biggest track record of frame kills and survival. 

Again, probably because he was the only nutjob crazy enough to continue fighting on foot. He is also the reason frame pilots would flinch at the sight of towels.

That was until the Invasion on Avalon where he was commissioned jointly by the Martian Foundries Corporation and the Terran Munitions Corporation. In an elaborate plan to take over the Avalon colony ship, which was orbiting Mars just behind Deimos at the time, he was set-up as a terrorist attempting to use Avalon in an orbital-drop to attack the MFC (it wasn't difficult. He already looked insane enough for the job). Using the terrorist occupation as an excuse to 'secure' Avalon, Avalon was successfully raided by the MFC and taken over. However, the MFC apparently violated the terms of their agreement with TMC by attacking first, and the captured Avalon was caught in a heavy crossfire between the two.

To make matters worse, the leaders and representatives of the many havens were meeting onboard the Avalon at the time to discuss the possibility of a coalition to defend against the ruling corporations. With them captured and all now suspecting the others of foul-play, the coalition was now anything but a fleeting dream. A certain Yukari Yakumo, leader of the Gensokyo Colony Ship, and Tenshi Hinanai, representative of the Celestial Haven, 'Takamagahara', were but a few of those captured in the invasion.

Animosity and distrust towards the Gensokyo Haven was already rife amongst the the higher-ups of other havens at the time, and public opinion was very much against trusting Gensokyo and its rather devious leader, Yukari Yakumo. Many decided to declare this a trap set up by the infamous Yukari who had worked hard to gather the leaders to hold alliance negotiations. They thusly declared war on Gensokyo. Little did they know that they were all being manipulated by the corporations into fighting amongst themselves.

Tenshi, on the other hand, was working in close conjunction with Suwako's task force by providing advice on earthquake management, while taking part in the alliance talks. She wasn't all too happy with regards to working with Gensokyo, however, mostly due to her hostile stance towards Yukari Yakumo and her ways.

However, the Kami of 'Takamagahara' took this opportunity to declare a holy cleansing of all 'lesser races', essentially a war of mass genocide. They declared Tenshi a war hero for being the first to sacrifice her life in their 'holy war' and vowed vengeance upon the lesser races who had dared lay hands upon one of heaven. Tenshi, realizing that she had been used as a pawn to start a war of cleansing, realized that she must somehow stop the Takamagahara. The worst part was that this meant working together with Yukari as the Takamagahara's first target was the Gensokyo mana core, with which they would be able to power their Ama-no uki-hashi, the floating bridge of Heaven, to begin their holy war proper.

Suwako Moriya was onboard the Avalon at the time, acting as a part of a joint goodwill task force from Gensokyo and the Celestial Haven in helping the Avalon colony build more shock and earthquake-resistant structures for the anticipated conflict against the corporations. Suwako, however, was captured along with her construction Nachtmare, Noble White, on charges of terrorism, along with a large number of the Avalon population.

That was how Trent and Suwako met, on death row onboard the MFC land-cruiser Vallas Marineris, awaiting their eventual trial/execution.

Mech Name: Noble White AKA Shirayuki (Snow White)
It has a cool name. But that's where it ends. It's a pile of moving junk.

No, it doesn't shoot laser beams out of its eyes. It does not transform into some sort of animal or vehicle. It doesn't even have the obligatory rocket punch.

The Shirayuki was originally an old construction Nachtmare belonging to Suwako. It was used mainly to drive piles for foundations on land, particularly in earthquake prone regions, which was Suwako's specialty. It was mainly piloted by Suwako. However, it soon had its first taste of combat during the Avalon Invasion incident when it had to make do with stolen weapons to escape the captured Avalon. That was when its surprising aptitude for combat (read:rampant unchecked mass devastation) was discovered. After all, destruction was simply construction done in reverse, right? It was faster, easier, and more fun too.

It was later fitted many different configurations that can be altered outside battle by fitting the base frame with a variety of armour and equipment for maximum tactical efficiency. Requires loading and unloading of armour and equipment so switching configurations can take hours.

History/Background: Forte Zokuranu was born and raised on the Lunar Colony. He grew up to be an ordinary boy with a mild interest in shoot-em-up games. At the age of 19 he was drafted into the LC military during one of the more intense battles between the LC and the TMC. Forte showed that he did not take very well care of the mecha he was assigned to, as the number of weapons and components lost in battle, including an energy sword and a number of arm components, grew. This did not mean that he did not get the job done.

Seeing potential in the young pilot, in what is still debated as a questionable action, the high commaders of the military assigned Forte to be a member of a special strikeforce. This strikeforce became known as the Ravagers. Forte took part in a number of missions, and everytime he came back, the Mecha he piloted had to be overhauled. In the latter half of his career as a Ravager, Forte obtained a number of weapons.

In a scuffle with Terran forces, Forte hunkered down in the blindspot of a Terran Destroyer and picked off Shock Attack Mechas equiped with Bunkerbusters. Blinded by rage, the leader of the group charged and attempted to strike Forte's machine with the Bunkerbuster. Getting out of the way at the last minute, Forte let the mecha strike the destroyer. The resulting explosion decommissioned both machines. Miraculously, the Bunkerbuster survived the destruction and Forte took the weapon for his own uses.

In another battle, a Martian fleet was spotted heading towards an important LC convoy. The fighting was fierce as Mechas were forced to face off against Cruiser Class warships. In the end, the Ravagers destroyed the fleet, but not without losing their commander. The members of the strikesquad nominated Forte to be the next commander. As his first action, he outfitted the Garunda with a modified railgun from one of the ruined destroyers.

During their final mission, the Ravagers were sent in as reenforcements to counteract a force of Terran aces attempting to find the Cratios Research Facility, which housed top secret weaponry. The garrisons stationed at the facility were not enough, as was evident by the squad of seven smashing the garrison forces.

This squad of seven were unlike anything Forte had encountered. Their mechas were as fast as, no probably faster than, Forte's machine. It was only by a stroke of luck that Forte managed to take down one of the enemy mechas. infamous Terran or not, Forte was determined to win. Although victorious, it did not seem that way. Many Ravagers were lost in the battle, and Forte almost lost his life while battling the attackers, his mecha being nearly obliterated by the leader.

The Ravager strikeforce was soon disbanded, and the pilots returned to normal military sevice. Forte retained his rank, which was the equivalent to a standard Captain. With his machine equiped with the latest LC technology had to offer and the looted weapons, Forte spent his days in sevice patroling as well as the occasional battle. Nothing too out of the ordinary until that fateful day...

Fun Facts:Forte has never let go of the original mecha he obtained during his time as a Ravager. It may have undergone many changes and overhauls, but the original frame is still there. What was left of it, that is.

Forte sometimes finds himself in rather "compromising positions" when talking to people of the opposite gender. Some call it a gift while Forte calls it a curse, as it just doesn't seem right...



Mecha type: Modified LSM-38 Garunda (Medium)

-The LSM-38 Garunda is the pinicale of LC Technology. Unlike it's heavier equivalents, the Garunda is immensly swift. It embodies all the traits of what is seen as a powerful mech by Lunar Corporation standards: great agility and striking swiftly. Only 20 of these mechas have been built, as each one is a peice of art made by master artisans. Forte recieved one when he bagame a member of the Ravagers, but it had to be overhauled and strengthened as Forte had it equiped with a number of weapons unsuitable for the frame, including a modified ship gun. It's most recent addition is a deep scan radar, made for recon.


Right Hand: Bunkerbuster Piledriver (medium solid melee)
-A modified version of the Terran Bunkerbuster. It was salvaged from the wreck of a Terran mecha in a previous battle. The inertia of the ram has been increased greatly and the ram has been charged with energy, making it very powerful. Energy crackles around it, acting like a defensive weapon. It is rather unstable, however.

Left Hand: Lunar Rapid-release Plasma Gun (medium energy ranged)
-A weapon recently cleared for field use. Plasma rounds are noted for their high penetration capabilities. The principle of ancient gattling guns have been applied to the weapon, creating a fearsome weapon. The shortened barrels allow the weapon to be used in tight spots. This has little effect on accuracy, despite what many would think. The bottom half of the weapon is outfitted it a large metal plate which functions as a shield. It is able to withstand most standard weapons, but it cannot stop heavier ordinance.

Left Shoulder: Aries-Pattern Rail Gun (heavy solid ranged)
-A massive weapon that was salvaged from a ruined MFC destroye, given to Forte as a reward for eing the one to ruin it. It was modified for use on the LSM-38 Garunda. The Railgun was modified to fire charged rounds at incredible velocities. It is generally advised that the mech be stationary when firing the Railgun, but the Garunda seems to have held up firing the gun while moving.

Backpack: Overthruster (medium support)
-The Lunar Corporation Overthruster enhances the speed of mechs greatly, improving turning speeds. Recent observations have noted Light mechas outfitted with LC Overthrusters to run circles around Terran and Martian equivalents. It tends to overheat, so other systems have to be turned off in order to use the overthruster's full potential.

Head: Deep-Scan Radar (light support)
-The Garunda is outfitted with the most thorough radar available in the LC armoury. The DSR is used for recon as well as determining enemy load-outs. This helps to know how to fight against rival mechs. Deep-Scan Radars also pinpoint weakpoints in enemy armor, as well as aid the targeting computer in tracking most targets. Unfortunatly it is unable to track enemy shots, beyond missles at a relativly close range.

-The G-24 Midnight Sun is a rather unusual Nightmare. At the request of Marisa, this Nightmare was made as a single-seater. What is more unusual is it's ability to merge with other Frames, both Nightmare and Solar. It has little armaments as it relys on what it finds. After it combined with the LSM-38 Garunda, it mysteriously loses it's ability to merge with other frames.

The homebase starship setting:

Our homebase will be the Gensokyo. It is mostly a small colony ship with a gigantic biodome housing Gensokyo itself, still the beloved paradise of human, youkai, fairies, etc. alike. The ship was built on the behest of Yukari, who, fearing for Gensokyo's safety, had the entire land be loaded onto a starship built with divine kappa ingenuity and sent out to the farther reaches of the solar system.

The starship deck beyond the biodome houses many useful facilities such as the command bridge, war room, hangar bay, engine room, etc. But most importantly, it houses the 'Divine Mana Core', a powerful artifact which made the Starship Gensokyo possible. The Divine Mana Core is a nigh inexhaustible source of power which powers the biodome and provides it with everything it needs to sustain itself.

...which is perhaps what made the starship the target of the many factions that now inhabit the solar system...for the Divine Mana Core is the key to solving their Resource War, born of the scarcity of natural resources and the imminent doom of the destruction of the human race.

Now the ship and its brave pilots must fight to defend their home, their lives, and their future...

Things to note when you make your character's background.



In the future, humanity has gone beyond the limits of Earth and began colonizing the outer reaches of the solar system. In the inner solar systerm, powerful corporations rose to take control and took control as governments. In the outer reaches,  the colonies on the moons of Jupiter united and established a nation that rivaled the power of the corporations in the inner solar system. However, in order to maintain order, power was placed with a select few. The colonists on Europa rebelled against the United Republics and fought to gain control of the moon. The Corporations and the United Republics of Jupiter fight over the ever dwindling resouces needed to keep nations alive and money flowing.

Throughout the solar system, radicals fight to liberate the people from the oppression of the United Republics and the Corporations. However, many of them strive to protect the remaining resources and nature. Calling themselves the Liberators of Eden, they hide out throughout the asteroid belt. It is also rumored that they hide out in the Kuiper belt on the outside solar system.

The Corporations and the United Republics facilitate war with large space fleets and mechas. Yeah, they fight with Mechas. Each of the factions have differing styles of combat, unique yet effective in their own way. While the Corporations fight against each other and the United Republics, there are certain things which are sold amongst eachother. Business is business after all.

In a separate pocket of reality, there existed a place, untouched by industry. Protected by powerful borders, it remains untouched as life continues it slow pace. This is the world known as Gensokyo. In the battle for resources amongst the Corporations and the United Republics, Gensokyo would find itself with a large number unwanted visitors. In response, the inhabitants of Gensoky built a massive ship and fled to find new life, but there would be very little rest in the unforgiving reaches of space.

 
The Factions

Terran Munitions Corporation

One of the major Corporations to form a government, the Terran Munitions Corporation holds a powerful monopoly over heavy explosives. Specializing in heavy artillery, Terran Munitions is the largest producer of mass drivers. Despite being the largest producers of mass drivers, Terran Munitions is most famous for the Bunker Buster, a type of close quarters ram capable of busting all but the heaviest of armor.

Lunar Corporation

The Lunar Colony rose to wealth thanks to the efforts of the Lunar Corporation. The Lunar military consists of the latest technology brought forth from the Lunar Corporations R&D Department. Because of the low gravity, testing munitions would take forever, and time is money. Instead, the Lunar Corporation deals mainly in energy-type weaponry, such as Plasma cannons. It's only a rumor, but it is said that an energy sword, known as a Warp Saber, is being developed.

Martian Foundries Corporation

Mars is rich in minerals, making Mars an ideal place to develop heavy armour. The Foundaries of Mars pump out hundreds of Heavy mechas as well as the feared Titan. Martian Foundaries is also the main producers of railguns in the solar system and pioneered the Drone-Pod technology. Martian Foundaries are also the lead producers in ECM weaponry. It is rumored that there is a weapon in the works that allows a mecha to take control of another mecha, but there is no evidence to support this claim.

United Republics of Jupiter

The scientists in the URJ work hard to make weapons capable of rivaling the Corporations. So far, they've done pretty well with what they already have. The enormous Mecha army and space fleets are made possible by the foundaries of Io. Scientist have created a chassis capable of rivaling the Martian Corporation's Titan, the Izangi. The R&D department of the URJ's most feared weapon is a blade which can cut almost anything. It is also said that the URJ is working on a weapon capable of wielding the sun's power.

Europa Rebellion

The rebellion on Europa began a few years ago, but have gained great power over those few years. While it is not enough to insure independance, the colonists are able to hold their own against the URJ military. They regularly obtain supplies from the Corporations, in exchange for money. Business is business, after all.

Liberators of Eden

The Liberators of Eden are a radical group whse mission is to protect the dwindling natural resouces left in the Solar System. As a result, they mainly rely on energy based weaponry, making Lunar Corporation convoys favorite targets of Liberators. This does not mean, however, that mass drivers are not used. The Liberators of Eden are few, meaning that they can only do hit and run tactics, unlike the massive fleet doctrines of the larger militaries. As a result, their forced consist of light and medium sized mechas, adapted for high manouverablilty. It is said that they have their hands on cloaking technology, but there are no recorded accounts of this.

Gensokyo Coalition

In order to escape the destruction wrought by the wars between the Corporations, the inhabitants of Gensokyo created a large ship to escape the wars. The border to Gensokyo was openned, and the Colony Ship Gensokyo fled. The inside of the ship had most of Gensokyo preseved in the main dome of the ship while other areas consisted of weapon magazines, hangar bays, and other stuff like that. Mechs are made upon order, so there is a large degree of customization involved.

Personality: Acts friendly to everyone even if he doesn't necessarily feel that way. Greedy. Has a copy of Catch-22. Practices enlightened self-interest. (Does act to save other loot minded pilots during a battle because they could still want to buy something or could be bought out.) His judgement may be affected by the suzuran. This allows me, the author, to give an in character reason for ignoring an elite squad shooting at his ally. Has heard a few quotes, but would like to read Sun Tzu's Art of War in its entirety. He applies the few quote he knows to his actions.

Also, he believes that most conflicts can be resolved peacefully and will attempt to do so. However, he has no qualms about massacring his enemies and recording the lamentations of their women on audiotape. Such things do not bother his conscience. Nor does he take especial pleasure in them.

Of hot blood, he knows that it is a powerful force.

Of floating escape pods, he will shoot down enemy escape pods if either his side was losing or retreating. This is driven by the realiztion that excellent pilots are the most dangerous things in this war and that thy are helpless when floating in an escape pods. Also, those who survive a battle gain the experience of being in a battle which would improve their performance in the next one. Of course, if the escape pod contained an elite pilot, he would shoot it down if the oppurtunity arrived.

He does believe that in war, one must strive to inflict maximum casualties on the enemy side and have minimal on allies.

He believes that Gensokyo should turn and fight to regain Earth, but he understands that Gensokyo must first get the necessary resources to do so.

History/Background: He was one of the first to obtain a mecha. He knew the rules for loot. You loot it, it's yours to do as you will. As he was one of the first, he also was around to pick a co-pilot. Having already been friends with Medicine, he had decided to have her as a co-pilot. Interested in seeing whatever unorthodox equipment could be found and in getting the first pick of the loot, Nitori joined.
He, like Martin Luther King, has a dream. However, unlike Martin Luther King, his dream is to form a corporation that will conquer the other three. Such a large undertaking would require signifigant effort, but he is assissted by his teammates. Rinnosuke joined as part of a business venture to be a part of this massive dream.

While most see the solar system as a war-torn wasteland, he sees it as a place of oppurtunity. A place where he can rise to greatness. A tree of delicious fruit that the bold need only reach out and take.
He also believes that the current leaders of Gensokyo don't have any idea of where they intend to settle. He would like to be proven wrong on this point.

Being Nitori's teammate, he is a partner in Kawashiro industries and so is Rinnosuke. He intends to make Kawashiro industries the corporation that will achieve his dream.

History/Background: Originally born and living on Mars for his live, Anthony found a huge stash of ancient mecha anime tapes and DVD's, and watched them for most of his childhood, changing him into the equivalent of a mecha pilot from those animes, (which were from around 1960's-2010's), he decided from there on to become a mecha pilot, learning the ways of how to pilot them. He one day found Jan, a foundry worker, Anthony being the person he was got Jan out of his rut of depression and encouraged him to become a pilot too. Later on both enrolled in the Martian Mecha academy, and both eventually graduated, with Anthony becoming a heavy user type due to his reckless actions, wrecking anything with less armor. Since then Anthony has been known for being one of the more crazy pilots, having his mecha more made with mecha anime weapons, like the tomahawk and the rocket punch.

Fun Facts :

-He's known for calling out all of his attacks based on the names of them from mecha anime he has seen.

-He also always does the thing the good heroic guy would do, no matter what.

Strength: Jan is a skilled tactician, and uses long-range combat when piloting his mech. Jan has a small physique, but hides some strength from working in the foundries.

Weakness: If he loses his temper, Jan will rush into things, despite being much less skilled at it. He is also somewhat held back by needing his glasses.

Visual Description: Jan is somewhat short, standing at about five and a half feet tall. His height made him perfect for his work in the dangerous foundries. His skin is darker than most, and is somewhat darker from spending so much time in the hot and dirty foundries. His black hair is kept short from his foundry days, and his dark brown eyes are usually behind his metal rimmed glasses.
Jan wears a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and a brown jacket as a basic Martian relaxed uniform, like his friend Anthony. The patch on the back of his jacket, however, is instead comprised of two miniguns crossed together, barrels up. The script on the bottom instead reads, "Never Enough."

Personality: Jan is nice to most people he meets, but has little tolerance for those that would take advantage of others. He is a little cynical at the start of the story.

After becoming good friends, Jan found out that Anthony was heading into the army to become a pilot himself. That was until November of last year, when he was shot down and assumed dead. However, he has since resurfaced piloting a different mech. Rumor has it that he works for Gensokyo free of charge, and that both of his mechs originated from there...

Well the point was for the player to control a character and work with the girls chosen. However, you do not have to be a pilot. You could also be mission control, or take on one of the other jobs, such as mechanic or analyst, if you so choose.

I guess it would be ok to not use a character of your own, though.

Nachtwandlerlied Marionette (Nightwanderer Doll) AKA NachtMare or Nightmare:
Mechas powered by mana-cores. Currently exclusively wielded by the Gensokyo Coalition. So-called due to them being the only means by which the people of Gensokyo can fight out beyond the safety of their homeland's barrier, in a world of 'night'.

Linker: The co-pilots in Nachtmares, whose task is to converse with the mana core and act as the medium through which the pilot inputs orders into the Nachtmare.

Knights: Those who pilot Nachtmares.

Solar Frame
Mechas wielded by the humans. These come in many varieties and configurations. Most are powered by conventional means, such as batteries and fusion cores.

The story:

No one's really sure what brought Rumia, Kisume, and Aki Shizuha together to form a piloting group. Really, no one's sure about much of anything involving them. Whether this is due to secretiveness on their part or just no one really caring until now is lost to the mists of history; so maybe Keine knows. Regardless, they have banded together to work in defense of their homeland and, in Shizuha's words, "to make sure no one gets hurt too badly." They also seem to be unable to settle upon a name for their group, having referred to themselves as: Bucket Force, The Hungry Wolves, Three Leaves to the Wind, Team Awesome, Kuiper Cleavers, Der Untergrund, Parliament Funkadelic, Pancakes, and DAAAAAAW!.

Kisume: Callsign Green. The de facto leader of the group. Kisume is a rolling stone, and where she went her bucket is her home. And when she died, all she left us was a loan. No no, wait. She didn't die. Regardless, Kisume has lived the life of a vagrant and part time mugger for as long as anyone can remember. Rumor has it she is the child of the Enma and the Shikigami of the Sanzu River, but if that is the case then she must be a huge disappointment to at least one of her moms. Her lifestyle has left her with the practical wisdom of the team, and her skilled manipulation of her bucket makes her a natural pilot.

Aki Shizuha: Callsign Red. Goddess of the autumn leaves and de facto leader of the group, Shizuha is one of the most loved and most ignored people in Gensokyo. Few really think about her outside of the mid autumn season. By All Saint's Day, she's hardly mentioned at all. This has left her with a great deal of free time, and in this time she has picked up a surprising amount of trivia diverse theoretical and scholarly knowledge. As well, being the idea of the autumn leaves made flesh, she is able to manifest all sorts of spooky powers which often don't amount to much which dazzle the eye and soul with their subtly. Finally, she has a last name, which results in paperwork going by much faster and with fewer arguments.

Rumia: Callsign Golden Silver. No one really knows why Rumia is a part of this team or how she became de facto leader of the group. Maybe they just thought three was a lucky number? Maybe it's because she can actually aim an attack? Maybe that's why they made her the gunner? Rumor has it that Rumia has also master the forbidden art of popping and locking (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BtBm-XxcBBw), but who could confirm the truth of it?


The Mecha that draws them together: Bucket Force

No one is really sure how or why they got their hands on this machine. They will tell you that it's their brainchild and they designed and built it themselves, but no one really believes them. Most people think they just unearthed some form of ancient artifact, and beat it into shape. Visually, it looks like it is made of wood similar to Kisume's bucket. In reality, it is made of one of those Mecha alloys, god knows there's like five thousand of them, and it's really just cunningly designed to look like wood and iron.

Bucket Force is a transforming mecha. The trio really doesn't into details about how it works, and generally will get irate if asked too many questions about it. But it works and that's really the important part, isn't it? While the default form is a upper torso of a humanoid style mecha set on a hovering mechanism, it possesses a number of other shapes suited for dealing with varying situations. Most notable are fully humanoid form, a jet form, a compact form for dealing with tight places, a gun plat-form, and so on.

The machine requires all three team members to be present for it to operate. Kisume's bucket serves as a key, Shizuha's divinity as a power source, and Rumia's darkness as a sort of mystical shielding. Without all three of them there, the machine cannot function. It is presently unknown whether or not other people can sub in for the current pilots, as they aren't interested in sharing, but it is likely that Kisume is indispensible.

Bucket Force's adaptability makes it a more defensive unit in most of its forms, with moderate offensive capabilities compared to other machines. In single combat, often it can take advantage of a foe's weakpoint. In mass combat, it functions best with a group that can take advantage of the chaos and distractions it can cause among the enemy.

Strength: Rem, having lived as a street dweller-turned child slave, has been forced to undergo through many things that has developed his senses significantly, though to the extent of which this is true still remains a mystery. However, he is definitely more sharp than your average, reasonable John Doe. As a result, in the battlefield, Rem is able to react a little bit faster to most things going on than a typical pilot who does not have the benefit of such senses, however, this is limited at best and is mainly based on instinct, with a distinct lack of intuition behind it.

Weakness: Rem is very independant, and tends to be distant from people. This means he tends to go off on his own instead of acting as part of a contingent. This is mainly due to his distraught, dysfunctional past, where he has grown distrust towards other people thinking they will treat him as others have done to him in the past. This leads him into situations where one normally wouldn't go into knowing that they would catastrophically fail alone. Rem knows no fear of that, and would rather take that option than to co-operate due to his paranoia.

Visual Description: Rem is of average height for his age, and his growth has not been stunted, but it seems clear that his parents weren't on the tall side. His figure appears to be artificially made slim and slender, almost as if he had been experimented on when he was younger. This is evident because he has well-toned muscles that seem a bit too defined for his body structure. His hair is jet black, and touches down to a little bit below the shoulder-blades. His hair's bangs are frayed and wavy, and some strands of hair fall over his left eye. His eyes are large, and at times may seem to dilate when Rem is scared or shocked, and are red in colour. When looking at him from a distance, one may also make the observation that his hips are more accuentuated than your typical male, also through artificial means. This makes him look rather odd when he's in his casual attire, but he's rarely seen in such clothing anyway. He opts to wear his Terran uniform, however, as it reminds him... of... certain things he would rather not divulge upon. It seems that any signs of the Terran faction itself on the uniform have been torn off, though, instead replaced with... Well, it wasn't quite replaced.

Personality: As mentioned earlier, Rem is a fearful person, mainly influenced by his past. However, he is only open to his partners, again, something related to his past. To those he is open to, he is a genuinely caring person who does not want anyone to suffer the same things he did ages past, however, there is not many of these people he is open to. He has believed that most of the pitiable humans he's encountered thus far are just as savage, perverted and twisted as those who tortured him before. That is to say, his general disposition is spiteful and cold, it is betraying of his inviting, coquettish exterior that was, at this juncture, artificially imposed upon his being, and Rem did not ask for such a fate. This has also made him grow sorrowful and resentful of those who like to tamper with the whims of experimentation, and is strongly opposed against human experimentation. It is unknown at this point if there is anybody who can crack open his shell and make him see the error of his ways, and become more forgiving of people in general.

History/Background: Born to the Farsalina family, a family known for its rather androgynous children, came to bear Rem, who, although he fit the bill nicely, was deemed as a "potential candidate" for true exterior enhancement, and was then shipped off to some researchers and surgeons of the plastic surgical arts. It seemed that numerous researchers were part of the Terran Munitions Corporation. This will be important to note for later. Rem's parents explained to this group of scientists about their plight, and paid them a hefty sum for their troubles. This took place when Rem was seven, which explains the initial fear. The program finished two years later. During these years, Rem met and became acquainted with several people who... coincidentally ran under the same program. This will also be important later, because these people will end up being Rem's best friends sometime along Rem's timeline. After the program was done, Rem's parents were disatisfied with the results. They applauded the scientists for their efforts and let them keep the money, but in the end it was Rem who suffered, who was kicked out as a result. Rem lived several months as a street rat, stared down upon by men and women alike, except it wasn't with a look of disgust, it was rather with a look of desire, envy, something... lustful. Rem ended up secluding himself from society for a while until he was discovered by a former scientist who decided to ditch the group responsible for the program. Said scientist was a crazy pedophile who took Rem for himself and subjected him to all sorts of sick and twisted things, which shall not be mentioned here for the faint of heart and other parties. And then, this scientist with his sick ways, came up with the great idea to use Rem as a source of income, pimping him out to interested "customers," so to speak. This was a great business, don't get me wrong, but it was ultimately sick. This became widespread news and was noted down by the Terran Corporation, who found out one of their scientists went missing. This sick dude fit the bill nicely. He was caught out and Rem was fished out and sent for psychological rehabilitation. It didn't work, but the folks there discovered Rem had increased senses and noted he had potential to become a decent mech pilot.

From there, Rem was drafted into the Terran Munitions Corporation at the tender age of fifteen. The idea of a fifteen year old pilot doing well was absurd, but for some reason, some of their scientists thought it would be a good idea... These happened to be the same scientists who experimented on Rem all those years ago. He was put into a squad where, coincidentally, he was recognized by all his friends back in the operation program, and they formed a tight bond. Though Rem at first was unfamiliar with the controls, it took only a year before he became an ace in his squad, assisted by his friends as wingmen. Rem's particular squad became deadly, and one of the biggest threats to any opposing corporation or such organization. However, it was this exact notoriety that cost Rem his entire squad save for him and two of his friends, who are at present still recovering from their condition. There was a skirmish occuring, and Rem's squadron was assigned at the vanguard as usual, however, those behind him didn't like such a presence anymore, and, at the big clash, many of them abandoned the vanguard, leaving Rem's squadron alone to take on an entire battalion of the Lunar Corporations. The skirmish was to confirm the authenticity of the Warp Saber's development. Said skirmish was a success, but the results are unknown to Rem - he was too busy salvaging the remains of his squad to care.

What exactly happened there? Rem's squadron composed of himself and six of his friends, for a total of seven. They were facing off against a battalion of upwards of one hundred. The battle between them was fierce, but although Rem won, four of them went down during the course of battle. This battle had effectively crippled Rem's usefulness in the fray, as his squad's power came mainly from their unity rather than their individual skills. Rem returned with his two dying friends. Rem was told that his friends would survive, but with major repercussions - they most likely would not be allowed to return to action again. Rem was deeply saddened by this. Apologizing to the Terran corporation personally, he left them and decided not to bother in the affairs of the corporations anymore. That was when he heard the existence of a coalition that existed to avoid the trivialities of the war, and it was aboard a ship called the Colony Ship Gensokyo. Through Rem's now-vast list of contacts, he was able to locate it. He remains cold to said contacts throughout, having witnessed the honorable deaths of his comrades in battle. He will never forget their valiant sacrifice to this very day.

Now, another story is to be told. How exactly did Rem manage to come into contact with an angelic being, a practical schizophrenic and a gigantic psychic disk that somehow managed to learn engineering through sheer will alone? This was all demonstrated through a certain link. That link was the desire to reintegrate. Perhaps through some sort of bizarre coincidence, Rem found himself entangled within this Gensokyo Coalition business, and encountered these spiritually sound beings on separate occasions, the first being Sariel, who he forges the most close relationship with, then Shingyoku, and finally Kikuri. When they all met each other at once, they could feel some sort of energy, some sort of bond between them. This empowered them. And this gave Rem the company that he might need to become normal again. So, they formed a team between themselves... As to how Kikuri was able to perform mechanical maintenance, that is something to be told at another time.

Fun Facts:
- When he was still part of the TMC, his call sign was Lady Luck, because of his skill, was somewhat of a lucky discovery by the TMC, and yet, for all his masculinity, or whatever is left of it, Rem still remains to be an effeminate androgyne in their eyes. It is rumoured that some TMC pilots have deserted them as a result of Rem's sudden resignation from ace status.

- Rem's mech before it was modified or re-assembled as the EFX-F Ophelia was the NTR Pixie, a standard-issue light Solar Frame designed for tactical espionage and reconnaissance. It's a big wonder how Rem and his squadron of other NTR Pixie pilots managed to fight off an entire battalion, but some really attribute it to hard teamwork. Others say their NTR Pixies were modified to have better weaponry. This explanation might seem more feasible, given that Kikuri actually didn't have to modify the weaponry of Rem's NTR Pixie very much in order to make it what it is now on the Ophelia.

- On occasion, he is still given looks of desire by onlookers despite the fact Rem exudes an aura of coldness around him. Perhaps they are desperate, or lonely, or they find "cold" their type. I really have no idea.

EFX-F Ophelia
The Ophelia is a lightweight mech designed for tactical evasion and quick strikes to disable enemy weaponry or battleship engines. The Ophelia is in no way used for prolonged combat, especially melee combat, however, it can be used for skirmishes to its fullest potential. The Ophelia also has the capability to equip several different types of weapons, one at a time, to increase its utility potential or its tactical usage. It is most apt in land terrain, though it is skilled in the air and in space. It can't function properly in the sea, at least, not at the moment. The Ophelia is also open to further modifications with its current frame.

The Fr. Ophelia is designed for tactical melee combat, utilizing the powerful Ferrous Radial Grafted Arrayed Actual Claymore Head to deal debilitating damage to single mechs. It is usually used in stealth missions to disable mechs that have been already deployed but are in the battlefield. It can also be used in tactical sabotage.

The Pulsar Contact force can also be amplified by the co-pilot of necessary.

The DST Ophelia is used for quick barrages on a large number of enemy troops, utilizing its powerful Dark Star "Teneritas," a detached independent weapon system that works unlike funnels and such, instead acting like Aerods, independently attacking until a certain target energy has been consumed or until the user has deemed it so. Each blast from a Point Star of the Teneritas is about 30m in radius, and as a result can cause a lot of carnage in an area. The DST Ophelia, however, has limited maneuverability and lacks weapons for close combat. It is best employed from the back lines, and as an artillery-based supporter.

Dark Star "Teneritas" - Tactical Independent Acting Point Star Offensive Artillery Weapon
The Point Star is an individual unit of the entire Dark Star weapon system. The Point Star consists of a small rod shaped pod that is released from a fitting on the Ophelia's chest. Each Pod has its own AI system and acts independently from the Ophelia, firing at will based on commands input by the Ophelia's co-pilot and the AI can be modified at will. Each blast from a Point Star is about 30m in radius and is exceptionally large. The Teneritas can as a result cause massive amounts of collateral damage, as there are six Point Stars in the Teneritas system.

The SR Ophelia here is tagged Offensive, using the Stealth Ravager system as a tactical offensive maneuver, fading in and out, causing damage within the enemy ranks. This variation of the Ophelia is Rem's particular favourite, as it is considered as the "vanilla Ophelia," the Ophelia at its core.

The LETS Piledriver is Rem's primary form of "assassinating" a mech.

Stealth Ravager - Phase Shifting Invisibility Field Mechanism
The Stealth Ravager is a specific form of phase shift armor designed not only to mitigate damage but also to completely cloak the Ophelia from sight. The Stealth Ravager works by converting atmospheric energy and pressure and releasing energy at the same time, causing a conflict and as a result an existential rift which shifts the Ophelia's presence and causes it to cloak and take less damage. The Stealth Ravager, however, eats up a lot of the Ophelia's energy and cannot be used for prolonged amounts of time before the Ophelia must re-energize itself.

A new term:

Sanctuaries/Havens/Anomalies
The many sealed worlds sent out into outer space by their respective denizens in search of peace and tranquility. These are mythical paradises like Avalon, Shangrilla, Ryūgū-jō, El Dorado, Nirvanah, Shamballah, Olympus, Asgard, Vanaheim, Tir Na Nog, Atlantis, etc. Gensokyo, off course, is only one of many. The outsiders refer to these as 'Anomalies'.

And new miscellaneous bits and bobs to note:
A new homebase when we're out on missions, as dragging the entire colony ship around would be cumbersome at best, risky and dangerous at worst.

The Amaterasu, a Kawashiro Heavy Industries Surveyor Ship, modified into a Heavy cruiser capable of combat. It is the first combat-able capital-class ship designed in Gensokyo, designed in a rather ad-hoc manner after the Avalon Invasion.

The ship is somewhat smaller than most other military super capital ships of other factions, though still significantly larger than most cruiser-class ships. However, it boasts superior speed, maneuverability, as well as stealth and Kawashiro Heavy Industries' pride and joy, the Kappa Tech Optical Camouflage system. As such, it is the perfect platform to launch recon and hit-and-run missions.

It is outfitted with the following weaponry:

EDIT: Also, there's no explicit rule against having more than one co-pilot. You can have your mecha be a four-seater for all I care.

From now on, impressing/amusing us GMs will earn you discretionary WP awards. Yes, it sounds like a tyrannical system, but think about it this way....who will award US GMs WP? Y'know, fairly....

There will be enemy aces popping up. However, I do not think it warrants a new profile, unless the Ace is pretty reoccuring, which won't be occuring any time in the forseeable future.

For now, I will be giving a list of important people to note.

Premier Trotski Acrulov

Head of the UJR. He is often related to Lenin of the ancient USSR. He is good at exciting a crowd and is a Charismatic leader. Now, if only his advisors could steer him in the right direction...

Gabriel Nikitovich

Leader of the Europa Rebels. He give inspiration to his fellow warriors and is a fierce pilot of the JW-019 Jridaya, an experimental mecha aquired from an unkown source. Some have speculated that he will lead Europa out of opression and into a new era of freedom.

Alexis Shoungrain

The young CEO of the Lunar Corporation. She is a strong-willed woman who has big plans for the Lunar Corporation. It is said that she has a mecha hidden somewhere. In anycase, the future looks bright for Lunar Corporation with her leading the way.

Nwabudike Morgan

The CEO of Martian Foundaries. A man of great power and influence. He has lead Martian Foundaries in a period economic expansion. Despite this, he's actually more noted for his witty lines. below is an example.

Roberts Svarts

CEO of the Terra Munitions. A man who is not particularly threatening, he is not the best CEO so far. He is more well known to support scientific progess and has put his full attention on becoming more technologically advance than Lunar Corporation. This hasn't gone well so far, and military igh command has taken control of many of the actions the CEO is supposed to make.

Fredric Dougan

The Governor of the Venus colony. Being a new colony, Venus has no Corporation in control and instead has a traditional elected Governor. Governor Dougan is a fair person, and Venus has been called a haven for people. The Corporations fight over who will gain control of this planet. The stalemate is enough to let Venus retain it's freedom...

"Zin"

The headfigure of the Liberators of Eden. No one knows his true identity, however he does indeed exist. He pilots the Zaracarn, a mecha while ungodly agility. It closes in with incredible speed and rends enemy mechs to pieces with Power Claws. It is a truely fearsome visage to behold.

Home: Formerly the Io foundries in the United Republics of Jupiter.  Currently the Gensokyo colony ship.

Visual Description: Has brown hair and eyes, and a rather average build.  She prefers to wear white shirts and knee-length skirts of colours varying from the ordinary to the downright bizarre and preferrably a different colour every day.  Wears her old URJ uniform when on duty.

Personality: Outside of battle Elise is cryptic and strange.  She is capable of having normal conversations but often seems to be in a world of her own, embellishing her speech with old Terran allegories and references to strange legends that no one should really know.  She loves wordplay and will verbally fence with anyone whom she perceives as challenging her even if she ends up losing.  She also believes that her dreams are prophetic and devotes at least an hour of every day recording and interpreting them so that they might benefit people.  On the other hand, Elise doesn't seem to realise that people might not want to be told when they are going to die especially if there is no proof or the prophecy turns out to be absolutely false.

In battle she is the perfect soldier.  Elise is absolutely loyal to whoever her commanding officer is and never questions orders once they are given.  Her biggest problem is her inability to function under pressure without orders.  Without them she becomes confused and reverts to her (not-so-finely-honed) instincts, typically acting on the last order that she was given.  Also, she is not too bright when it comes to seeing through certain deceptions and more than one friendly fire incident has resulted from people impersonating her immediate superior as a prank.

History/Background: Elise grew up among the foundry workers on Io where she immersed herself in as many of the technical aspects of shipbuilding and mech design as she possibly could.  She always told people she wanted to become a head designer one day and design the most powerful robots the galaxy had ever seen, but she was generally laughed at by her peers.  She picked up the nickname Alchemist during this time for her lofty ambitions, after the people from ancient times who burned their lives out on absurd attempts to transmute lead into gold.  In other words, it was a nickname for people who chase impossible dreams.

While there was nothing wrong with them per se, everyone knew that Elise did not have the vision or eye for detail necessary to become a skilled designer.  She lacked initiative and could not think for herself under the immense pressure that designers were often under, whether it was to streamline the production system for a military grade mech or to complete a commissioned design from an exacting client.

The knowledge she gained did not help her become a good designer but it did help her become a good pilot.  Elise spent a lot of time illegally accessing the military simulators when she thought no one was looking and felt an empathy for the machines that could not be explained with mere words.  When she suddenly changed her mind and decided to become a pilot she was dismissed once again as a dreamer.  She took this second rejection even harder than the first and became increasingly withdrawn, no longer taking the same pride and joy in her work.  She did, however, redouble her efforts and became a model foundry worker by the age of 17.  What she did not know was that she was not so clever when it came to breaking into the military training simulators and all her data had been recorded by the URJ armed forces, who headhunted her when she came of age.

Using her knowledge of the URJ machines' technical limits she was able to push the mechs ever so slightly beyond what they were theoretically capable of and sometimes this made all the difference.  However, her superiors were constantly frustrated by her inability to take the initiative or command units and doubly so by the fact that she did not relate to the other pilots at all.  In their eyes she was a loose cannon and a liability they could ill afford.  Then, one day, she was simply gone.  Commandeering a mech, she left Jupiter space and headed off in search of the colony ship Gensokyo, never to be seen again...

Fun Facts (optional): Gengetu and Mugetu act more like familiars or attendants to Elise than the working relationship that most other pilots have with their partners.  They act as extensions of her will but at the same time try to keep her from getting into too much trouble, commenting that they do not know how she survived all this time without them.

Additional Information/Background/History:
Although it seemed like random chance or insanity that Elise deserted the military, she had been specifically requested by the intelligence branch for her pliable mind.  They needed an agent who would not realise that she was a spy and thus would not be subject to any sort of suspicion and be unable to reveal anything when interrogated.  Knowing of her tendency to treat particularly vivid dreams as prophetic, they inserted subliminal suggestions encouraging her to flee and seek out Gensokyo, becoming their ally and, when the conditioning activated, pass on information back to the homeworld.

Thus she was found drifting in space near the last known coordinates of the colony ship and was rescued on the brink of death.  Once she swore loyalty to Gensokyo she was introduced to her new partners, the twin sisters of the dream realm.  They presented her with a mana core whose energies were tied to that realm and which warped the mech she had stolen to get to the colony ship, enhancing it beyond a mere mass production model into the nightmarish Faust.

Also, describe your startup mech: It is humanoid in shape only.  Whatever model of mech the Faust originally was is lost under a maze of metallic threads and wires that coil together to form an approximation of muscle and bone that is surprisingly strong.  The network of armour gives the Faust a skeletal appearance with skull faces decorating the forearm guards, pauldrons and shin guards.  Thanks to the...unique...mutations brought about by the installation of a Mana Core the machine has gained a form of self-repair system that allows it to recover from extensive damage across its entire body, given enough time.  Combined with its penchant for close range combat and the numerous gun ports concealed among the "bones" of its body, the Faust truly is a machine born of the most beautiful dreams...and the most terrible nightmares.

History/Background: The life and times of the Scarlet Devil before the launch of Gensokyo colony are well known, and so shall not be repeated here.  At some point during the time between Gensokyo being launched and the present day, Remilia fell into disagreement with Yukari, among others.  As to what the disagreement was, no-one knows, but it caused her to leave the colony with her ever-faithful servant Sakuya and seemingly disappear. However, at the same time she disappeared, an ace Martian pilot who always wore a mask appeared, who referred to herself as "Rouge Diablo"...

As though fate itself was on her side, Rouge quickly rose through the ranks of the MDF.  Her relentless fighting style and superb tactical knowledge led to her becoming feared by the enemies of Mars, and respected (and feared) by the Martians themselves.  Most notably, this has led to her being known as "The Terror of Phobos" by enemies and allies alike.

History/Background: Aria was born in the Lunar Capital. Her parents were former officers in the LC military. Aria joined the military and followed their footsteps. Although, this decision was also made partly because her childhood friend and crush, Forte Zokuranu, joined the military. When Forte joined the Ravager squadron, he was separated from the regular army for special training.

At the same time, Aria was recruited by the LC Research Group. Aria was made into a test pilot for new Frames. Her most recent machine is the X-LSM 04 Dancing Whirlwind. The X-LSM 04 Dancing Whirlwind was cleared for field testing and it became Aria's machine. She left the research group and became a regular pilot again.

Fun Facts: Had dated Forte early in her military career. Due to an unknown reason, hey broke up, and Aria has been trying to get Forte back. At all cost.

It's up to you, really. Even if you don't post too often other players may move your character along, at least enough so that they don't fall into obscurity. Besides, you can post short sequences like what Trance did and interact with other players to keep yourself tightly involved with the plot. That doesn't take 10 minutes to do.

Ehh I better put it off for now. Once I get an apartment closer to my job I'll have more free time.

I work ten hours shifts and I spend four hours a day driving because it's 90 miles away :V

Leader of the Terran Rapid Reaction Special Forces, the  ARCs (Assault Recon Corps), and captain of the Zero ARCs. He was a Terran Noble and heir to one of the TMC's many directors. As such, becoming a high-ranking officer within the TMC's space force was only a matter of time. However, he surprisingly earned his place quite well, displaying exceptional skills and talents quite unusual for one his age. He gets rather bitter whenever ignorants attribute the high rank he had acquired at such a young age to his social status. It wasn't long before he was given the task to form the Terran's most advanced special forces unit, the Zero ARCs. He gathered all the best and brightest together to form the unit which would later be known throughout the Solar System as Terra's Wrath.

History with Rem (not yet confirmed with player)
During Rem's final battle as a Terran soldier versus a Lunarian battalion protecting the Lunarian Cratios Research Facility, Zou was the officer in command of the mission. In a split second decision to rush the base while deflecting a flanking batallion, he decided to leave behind his vanguard unit, Rem's squadron, to act as a decoy while he led his own squad of 7 into the research facility. Unfortunately, he sorely overestimated his vanguard's capabilities and was soon after reprimanded and punished for losing an entire squadron needlessly.

Coincidentally, this battle was also Forte's last mission as a member of his Ravager unit, before its untimely disbanding.

History with Margaret (not yet confirmed with player)
Margaret had served under him as one of the squadron commanders of the elite Zero ARCs...that was until her sudden disappearance following a mission deep in URJ space. He risked quite a bit by stubbornly remaining in URJ space while combing the region for signs of his missing pilot...but to no avail. He would be quite surprised to encounter her later on...

History with Sean (not yet confirmed with player)
He was the pilot who shot down the mercenary Sean Alistaire. He was quite surprised when Sean resurfaced only a year later, alive and well. He believes there is some sort of fate tied in here somehere.

History with Forte
He had encountered Forte twice before. Once during the battle of Foxhorn when Forte downed on of his own. In a fit of rage, he engaged Forte, making use of what was then a prototype weapon, the bunker buster. However, the battle ended with an entire Terran destroyer destroyed and his own unit downed, having lost its prized bunker buster. He is still bitter about it until this day.

The second time was when he lead his ARCs unit deep into Lunarian territory to attack the Lunarian Cratios Research Lab. He finally managed to acquire his chance at revenge. With his new prototype Solar Frame, he managed to resoundingly defeat Forte and his Ravagers Unit. The Ravagers were never heard of on the battlefield ever again.

Forte survived, but his team was soon after disbanded. That encounter was to be his last as a Ravager.

His Zero ARCs has engaged Jan's Dakka Brigade on a number of occasions. He was quick to recognize Jan as a fellow brigade leader and rival through their many encounters.

History with Trent
They have fought before, on foot, after Trent managed to down his Frame with his usual anti-frame footsoldier tactics. This was back when Zou was still a soldier-in-training, taking part in a real life skirmish for the first time. Zou survived the crash and went on to find Trent and they duked it out until the rest of Zou's team arrived, prompting Trent to make his escape. He remembers Trent as the first person to ever punch him in the face, something that even his father had never done.

-The Twin Sun is the only frame of it's kind amongst the Liberators of Eden as it is a Heavy Class mecha. It's basic frame is based off the Irukanji of the URJ. Despite being a heavy type, it is incredibly mobile, and a force to contend with.

-A massive weapon reminicient of the Scotish Claymore. A massive, solid weapon, it is able to slash other frames in half with great ease. It contributes the most to the overall weight of the Twin Sun

-A massive shield used to block solid projectiles. It is capable of stopping all but the most forcful of attacks

-The Hermes Thrusters were built specifically for the Twin Sun. They allow the Twin Sun to have incredibly maneurverability despite it's class as a heavy frame.

Chest: Gravitron Shield Generator (3 WP)
-The Gravitron Shield Generator emits an energy field that counters most energy attacks. When an energy bolt hits this field, the field weakens as energy is expended counteracting the energy bolt.

Head: Sun-Drop Light Energy cannon (1 WP)
-A Type of rapid-release cannon that utilizes capsules filled with energy. They explode upon contact with an enemy machine.


Cruiser Halifax- A light carrier used to hold a large number of frames. it is lightly armed to make way for the Basalisk cannon, a plasma gun meant for taking on much larger vessels. it is also outfitted with a stealth generator.

The numbers of martians, Lunar Corps, and so on are not definite. I just put in dots to represent there were a lot of them.

I have tried to place people and things as well as I could, but a lot has been kind vague. In particular, I am not sure where Lunablade is at all, or what is going on above ground level. The terrain is extremely basic because all that's really been mentioned was the palace and a capital ship. I have no idea what's going on in space or really even in the air. I would like to know those things. =|

If you are not on the map, I don't know where you are or I forgot you because I suck. If I got you in the wrong place then I just suck. Tell me so I can fix it =|

The Terran and Luna count is probably accurate, we're gonna say the Martian count is too, since they got decimated.

History/background: Walter Grabect was a high-rank officer in the URJ army. When news of elite squads came to the ears of the military high command, the URJ promote Walter to commander of an elite squadron, the 8492nd squadron. His consistant survival record is not enough proof, however Walter is nearly untouched by enemy fire yet remains capable on the battlefield.

- The 8492nd Squadron ultilizes modified TSTM-47 Faulkners. Unmodified TSTM-47 Faulkners are the staple frames used by the URJ military. This means that the Modified TSTM-47 Faulkners are relatively easy to maintain and replace while remaining high-performance machines.

- The progessive sword is a weapon that can cut just about anything. It folds like a switchblade when not in use. A good comparison is the Exia's solid blades seen in Gundam 00. When retracted, it doubles as an ion pistol.

-The Tri-Gattling Cannon has taken the power of 3 gattling cannons and compacted it into the size of one cannon. The Hephestus is incredibly accurate and has decent range, however has a tendency to overheat.

History/Background:
As a new experimental rank instead of the GA-0xs, EFA starts to build Neo Genetic Altered Human who based on the previous GA Members plus a little twist. And GA-13 is the first group of them.

GA-13 are a merge of GA-01 Fairy Phoenix, GA-04 Hope Firefly(AKA Amarillo Viridian), and one of GA-04's former partners - Daiyousei from Gensokyo. Surprisingly, a fusion of Humans and Fairies get a nicer result than the lab people originally thought.

It seems she have gathered all the good parts of each species, She have high agility as of Fairies, but have a very clear thought that even most human cannot compare with.

So this experiment is obviously a success.

As a preparation of the coming mecha wars between EFA and XUN, she was sent into this Time-Frame for "training", However, even GA-01 herself cannot foresaw what this training will bring to this time frame.

As she have partly fairy blood in herself, she was assigned into the Fairy Squadron, and get very surprised to see how their leader, "Narrin" 's command skills and actual combat skills goes.

"Looks I finally have something to do." She thought.

Fun Facts :

Same as all other GA Members, she have an special ability.

Her ability is officially named by EFA Scientists as "Telepathic Healing", which can heal all mental and physical damage of one. However, this ability proves little effects on Humans but works great for the fairies, which is not that useful seeing what their original traits are... This ability is a result of merging of Fairy Phoenix and Amarillo Viridian's ability.

Strength: Extremely knowledgeable in many medical arts and well-versed in anatomy and other aspects of the human body, Serena can use this to her advantage. She can quickly treat wounds, and she can conduct all manners of enhancing experiments (though how ethic that is, no one really knows). She's also extremely persistent and it's hard to dissuade her from a certain goal, though at times this hard-headedness is also a pretty big liability on her side of things. She can also be quite irrational at times, acting seemingly "out of character." She's also an expert engineer and a decent pilot.

Weakness: Serena's fixation on her pet project assigned to her by Rem's parents, that is, the exterior enhancement of Rem, has caused her to grow lustful towards Rem, and this kind of affects her brain as she no longer follows that and instead trusts her emotions and heart. As we know, this is not always a good thing when you're in the battlefield fighting a war. She's also quite a picky person.

Visual Description: A well-endowed woman, Serena has allowed her body to undergo several changes as testing for the project she was doing unto Rem, and has been a success so far. Serena looks much like a nineteen year-old, and stands at around five foot nine, not including her high heels... sometimes stilettos. Well, not when she's piloting a Frame, of course! Serena's hair is short, but at the ends, they curl. Serena's hair is dark green in color and her eyes look rather alluring and captivating. It's hard to avert your eyes from Serena once you see her. Despite her looks, she actually can defend herself in a fistfight and is capable of using firearms. It doesn't get any clearer than that.

Personality: Serena is quite solemn when she is at her most polite, and tends to be quite accommodating towards those she regards as friends, and even enemies; she firmly believes in the maxim of "Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer." However, she tends to go obsessive to an extreme with regards to things she has a fixation on, and as a result her calm composure is destroyed and she tends to become a totally different person personality-wise. She doesn't become berserk, as her manner of speak still remains the same, it is rather the manner in which she carries herself and delivers herself that changes. Serena's not a bitch at all, it is merely just her fixations getting the better of her.

History/Background: Serena Arcklight is the Head Scientist in charge of the exterior enhancement program that Rem's parents assigned to her. Serena herself was born to a pair of scientists in love with each other. They left their Terran posts because it seemed like the consummation of love was shunned. As a result, they were hunted down and killed for reasons unknown to Serena. It seemed like Serena was old enough at the time as the TMC took Serena for themselves and educated her in things she didn't already know in the medical department, and thus she became a scientist to help in Research and Development for enhancement of pilot performance. In actuality, Serena always wanted to become a mech pilot instead of a scientist. In secret, she learned engineering from a very close friend of her father's, and similarly learned how to pilot from the same person. Over the years, she became more and more knowledgeable and as a result she became a lead scientist. It was during this time she started on her first project - a specially designed mech using technology from all over. She had many contacts during this time that she utilized as a result.

Halfway through the project, Rem Farsalina, who was to become a pilot later on in his life, was thrown at Serena and requested by his parents for exterior enhancement, so to speak. Serena was to be paid a huge sum of money as a result. After a long time, the project was deemed a success. Serena got her money, but then she never knew that Rem was thrown out afterwards. She never knew that Rem was going to be treated like a sex slave for the next few months. When she caught word of this, her creation was almost complete. She was going to rescue Rem. Even if he didn't need rescuing. She was going to do it.

DPS Lavitage
A bulky, heavy mech that is a hodge-podge of all sorts of technologies which Serena gathered from her plethora of contacts. The Lavitage is designed to take heavy punishment and deal immense short-term damage at once before speeding off. It uses a different core between Solar Frames, giving it a unique energy that is akin to the Nachtmare's mana cores. It is unknown as to how Serena got a hold of such a technology, but this gives it many advantages over your run of the mill Solar Frame.

A laser gun hefted on the shoulder. It's not as powerful as a dedicated laser cannon, but it delivers a thin phaser burst that, when it hits its mark, causes intense burst damage at the target part of the opponent, and that damage leaks out to nearby mechs, foe or ally. It has a cooldown time to avoid overheating.

A backpack that releases salvos of small missiles that fly in all directions. A very straight forward piece of weaponry, but it works very well and can cause massive amounts of damage if used properly. It seems to use a fusion of the ballistics of TMC and URJ technology.

Unique Equipment [5WP]
The FALZIS Core is very unique, as it powers the Lavitage somewhat differently than your typical Solar Frame cores. It is so useful it takes up 5 WP The FALZIS Core converts atmospheric energy as well as some air to some form of earthly energy that seems to resonate with a core from somewhere within... The vicinity. Something like the Earth's core. As a result, the Lavitage handles much better than a Solar Frame with a regular core. However, it's not as strong as the mana cores that go on the Nachtmares.

Bucket Force, Trie Noir, and Ophelia have done damage to the Terran and Luna forces. Unfortunately, they've also brough attention on themselves. Bucket Force has taken a fair deal of damage in the process.

Also, note that half-dots denote damaged units that are still able to fight with some effectiveness. Dots that have been erased are unable to fight, but may still be battlefield repairable.

History/Background: A noted Ace of the LC, he later became a test pilot for the R&D department. when Aria left to become a regular soldier, Lazuras took on the role as the main test pilot. His most recent machine is the X-LSM 15 Nightwing.

Fun Facts: Will always be there to pull Aria out of trouble for some reason.

- A small tractor beam meant for holding enemy machines in place to be destroyed by the Nightwing.

- An experimental Overthruster. A rather large device, the Angalem Pattern Thrusters are over half the size of the , it can even support the 7 Generals Weapon System.

Chest: 7 Generals Weapons System (5 WP)
- An Experimental weapom system. It works like a Detatch Independant weapons system in that weapons pods separate from the Nightwing. While most of the weapons pods are placed around the machine, the main control system is located in the chest area with the pilot.

The main feature about the 7 Generals is that it utilizes the Warp Sword, recently confirmed for field use. Boasting 7 of these new weapons, the Nightwing is capable of taking on multiple targets at once with the destuctive power of the warp blades. The Warp Sword works like an energy sword, but energy shields are rendered useless by the high output of the warp sword.

Head: Lunar Burst Cannon (2 WP)
- A cannon that rapidly fires energy capsules at the target. The capsule explode on contact.

History/Background:
And so, for the Suwako-knows-how-many-eth time, the Prismrivers disbanded due to creative differences (READ: Lyrica's EMO, Lunasa's 'Just-as-PLANNED' schemes, and Merlin's INSANITY). They all went their separate ways. Lunasa bumped into Yuka just as she was walking away and the two weren't seen again for 3 whole months. Merlin just disappeared. Now, Lyrica...this is her story.

Lyrica, down on her luck, miserable, and downright depressed, finally ended up bunking with her sister, Layla, who, being a travelling solo musician at the time, was bunking herself at Akyu's place (much to Akyu's chagrin). It wasn't long before Lyrica delved deeper into depression before ending a hikkikomori/NEET.

In an attempt to get her out and about, Layla pushed her darling little sister on Mystia for a part-time-job at the eel stall. Well, at least that's what the story says. It really went 'Real Men do BBQs and drink BEER!'.

The stall soon went bankrupt.

Nobody wanted to say it, but apparently Lyrica's emo was a drain on the atmosphere.

Mystia then suggested they try something less people-oriented, like delivering packages...on nachtmares.

....for some reason, all the houses they delivered to burned down not long after their visits...

It wasn't long before the two were chased out with pitchforks.

Anyhow, in a desperate move to knock Lyrica into shape, Layla signed them all (Akyu and Mystia included, much to their horror) up for military duty. "...BECAUSE THIS IS WHAT MEN DO!"...despite the fact that Gensokyo had no military...and that they were all girls.

So now they find themselves fighting for Gensokyo onboard the Amaterasu.

Visual Description: Looks startlingly like Alice Margatroid, but with brown hair.
Personality: A little cold-hearted, but over all calm.

History/Background: Born on Mars, Fae led a pretty calm life. At the age of 6, her life was shattered when her parents died in an accident. Her latter half of her childhood was spent being raised by foster parents. Most of her life was focus around doll, an unusual way to spend time considering the advancements in entertainment.

Fae was eventually recruited by the military. She was able to read the flow of battle and quickly rose to the status as an ace. Recogizing her abilities as a tactician as well as a warrior, the military assigned her to pilot the Grand Marionetteer, an experimental Frame loaded out with the latest Drone Pod epuipment as well as an experimental craft. Her heart still remains closed, but when the wrong buttons are pushed, Fae losses all sense of control over her emotions


Mecha: XM 22 Grand Marionetteer (Very Heavy)
- IT's agiliy is not it's strongest point. It is mainly a support unit that hangs back, however it is able to hold it's own in battle. The size of this machine supports an onboard factory which produces the Shan and Hou drones which are used by the Grand Marionetteer. As large as it is, it is also one the most elegant of the Frames amongst the Factions.

Right Hand: HC Dragon Claw (2 WP)
- A powerful claw that rips through armor with great ease.

Backpack: S-H Drone Pod System(5 WP)
- The Shan-Hou Drone Pod system is the latest creation of the Martian Foundaries. It can only carry a limited amount of drones, which makes it hard to replace them in the middle of battle. The Grand Marionetteer solves that problem with it's minitature factory. The drones themselves are armed with a variety of weapons: energy swords, lances, laser guns, solid-shot guns, and rocket launchers. Oddly enough, the drones are in a humanoid shape, almost like a doll...

Chest: MCS (5 WP)
- The MCS's main function is unkown right now...

-A squadron made up of light mechas. Mainlky used for recon, Azure Wing is also used to flank enemy units. The incredible agiliy of their MVLF make Azure Wing very dangerous in battle.

History/Background: Born in the Martian Capital, Rick Wheeler was an infamous street racer. His insatiable need for speed led to the death of two people. In hopes of curing this, as well as delivering justice, Rick was sent to a correctional facility. It was not cured, and Rick was drafted into the military. It was there he fell in love with the MLSM-77 Firefly.

Taking note of his love for speed as well as his capabilities to fly very fast, the military high command assigned him to Azure Squadron. He later became the commander of the Azure Squadron.

-An incredibly light frame, it is mainly used for recon. However, the Fireflys of the Azure Wing are able t hold their own quite well in intense battles.

Phew...that was an absurd mess. Thank you, Rouge! Anyhow, here's the rearranged stuff. Feel free to make any changes you like. Purvis is currently editing it to make it nice and pretty for everyone. Isn't he nice?

Before the laser could blow off his arm, the Daihitenryoku countered with a dazzlingly fast katana slash, deflecting the laser straight into an incoming Martian mech, which crashed into the walls and exploded in a brilliant fashion.

The Noble White skidded under the flaming wreckage bouncing along the tunnel walls before spinning back upright to gut another Terran mecha in two with its pile bunker.

"Trent! You persistent little..." Zou reversed his boosters and aimed a katana slash at the Noble White. 

"Incoming cucumber milkshake!" Trent managed to dodge just in time, such that only his right arm was severed along with his right shoulder veneers.

 "GETTA TOMAHAWK" Yelled out Anthony as he pulled out the MazinGetter's Tomahawk, and boosted towards Zou

"Nathanial, that seems to be the enemy leader..." noted Yorihime.

"Hmmm, yes... Well, only one thing for it then..." The Lunablade hefted it's mighty energy blade and charged straight for Zou's frame.

Zou stabbed the Getta Tomahawk through the center with one katana, spun it around him a few times, maintaining, and even speeding up its momentum, using it to deflect the Lunablade's energy blade, before launching the tomahawk flying at the Noble White. But just as it happened, Suwako gave his pilot seat a sharp kick in the back, causing the shot to go off by just a bit, ending up only slashing off the other arm off the Noble White.

Another laser shot out at Zou, this time from behind.

Yuyuko looked worriedly at Sean "We're not going to be able to keep the cloak up for much longer"

"I know, damnit, just keep it on for as long as possible." Sean said.

"A Martain frame, riding heavily on its boosters, and took aim at Noble White's engines. A moment later, a distictive "Fweem" noise echoes from upwards, as a greenish beam tears into its rockets and forces it to land. "This is Red," comes the voice of Shizuha on the Gensokyoan Comms channel, "Are we too late? Over~"

"Dammit! If the Tomahawk won't work, then Suck on my Rocket punch!" Yelled out Anthony firing the MazinGetter's rocket punch at Zou's mech

"Oy...we're unarmed..." Tenshi pointed out, looking side to side at the two sparking stumps where arms once were.

Meanwhile, the Lunablade was moving ever closer to Zou's mech.  It lifted it's blade high, and... "SWORD OF LUNARIA!  DEATH STRIKE!" ...Brought it crashing down towards him.

The Daihitenryoku chose that moment to stab its katana through the Noble White's chest, before raising it for use as a meat-shield against Lunablade's strike and the Mazingetter rocket punch.

The Noble White's cockpits burst open as the Lunablade's and the Mazingetter's strikes hit it in the back. A rather mad-looking Trent burst out from inside, propelled by the impact, a stolen sword of hisou in hand. He ran along the stabbed katana and the Daihitenryoku's arm with a scream of "MIIIILKKKKKKKSHAAAAAAAAAAKKEEEEEEEE!" before leaping at its cockpit hatch.

With a maddened grin, he stabbed through the hatch with the force of a million earthquakes, shattering it into bits, exposing an enraged and horrified Zou and a excited happy Suwako to the rushing air.

The Mazingetter's rocket punch then hit the mecha meat shield, and bounced off, the MazinGetter quickly flew up and reattached the arm. "Dammit, I can't get anything at him, he just blocks or avoids it, I need something to pierce through!" Yelled out Anthony.

"Well, there's one weapon left over from the old nightmare" said Letty, brining up the weapon list on one of the monitors, one of the weapons looked unfamilar to Anthony.

"There's no time for organizing!" Kisume cries as Noble White is impaled. Shifting into the distinctive heavily-armored shape of Maple Force, Team Bucket moves to join the fray. Kisume boosts around Daihitenryoku and jams its sword at the frame's side.

"Kisume be careful!" Shizuha cries, "There's a person on the outside of that thing!"

"Oh no you don't!" Zou shouted, deflecting the Maple Force's blade just in time, causing the the Maple Force to ram into it through sheer heavy momentum. Before Trent could reach out for Suwako, the shock from the Maple force sends him flying backwards off the Daihitenryoku.

"NO! NOT THE RED BUFFALOS AND THEIR ACCURSED LAMBAAAAADAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Trent roared as he was thrown backwards.

"MORON!" Tenshi shouted after him...but the Noble White wasn't fast enough to catch him.

"Damnit, I can't fire with all these idiots in the way!" Sean muttered.

"What is that maniac doing?" Kisume asks, as Bucket Force draws back, then turns its attention to a set of Terran Mechas coming up behind them. They watched as Trent fell back past their cockpit.

"Bein' awesome!" Rumia says as she unleashs the Fweem Beam upon the Terrans.

Trent landed with with a thump atop...thin air...?

"Oh damn, pull him into the cockpit before he gives away our position, Yuyu" Sean shouted, gesturing up at Trent's butt which was now pressed up against his 'windshield'. An arm reached out of thin air and pulled Trent into... somewhere invisible.

"Bang Nail? Sounds like it'll pierce that sucker right through!" Yelled out Anthony upon noticing a weapon option with a catchy name.

"Now! BANG NAIL" Yelled out Anthony, which then the head of a nail poped out of the right shoulder of the MazinGetter, and then Anthony pulled it out, the nail being around the size of a sword on scale with a mecha.

"...By the gods, I'm surrounded by idiots," moaned Yorihime.  "Nathanial, I don't care what you do right now, just... Do something."

"As you wish..." sighed the pressganged pilot.  "Um... Meh, it's worked so far..." Lunablade once again struck out at Zou with it's sword.

Zou simply spun around with his dual katanas and parried, though his parries were no longer as graceful as before. Now they were filled with raging force. "TREEEEEEEEEENT!" He roared into the air.

The other Zero-ARCs commandos moved in to protect their leaders. They were aces, true aces, and weren't about to let their leader down just like that. "They're moving to protect that damaged nacht," says Shizuha.

"On it," says Kisume, as she fires the boosters and moves to ram the hefty nachtmare into one of the Zero-ARCs.

"Keep moving!" Cries Shizuha as Maple Force bowls over the Zero-ARC it targeted and moves to lock swords with another.

"I know, I know!" says Kisume, whilst Rumia cries "WHUMP!" and focuses the Freem Beam on the Zero-ARC as it moves to strike Bucket Force with its free hand.

One managed to ram the Lunablade into the wall. "Gah, cocky bastard!"  Nate tried to knock his attacker to the side.  "Get out the way!"

"TREEEEEEEENT!" Suwako spun around in her seat and slashed her bindings apart with the sword of hisou which had ended up stuck through the seat.

"S-Suwako-sama! Get down!" Zou cried in panic. "You'll die!" Zou shouted at Suwako.

"No...Shirayuki-chan....Trent...will save me...I'm sure of it...because...Shirayuki-chan chose him..." Suwako smiled, before leaping out of her seat and into the rushing air. She spread her arms wide open, catching the torrents of air, and flying upwards. "TREEEEEEEENT!"

"Nothing can stand between me and my payday!" Trent kicked open Sean's cockpit and leapt out. "PAYDAY KID!" HE roared as he leapt for Suwako.

"Suicidal moron. Oh well, Yuyu, I'm going to let you pilot for a moment. Just stab the damn thing once those two are out of the way." Sean muttered aside to Yuyuko.

The two floated in free-fall as they fought to get closer to each other, Suwako by desperately reaching out, Trent by doing his own comical rendition of the breast-stroke.

"Treeent!" Suwako cried, arms spread towards Trent.

"PAYDAY KID!" Trent shouted back, grasping for her. Their fingers missed one another's a few times, before they finally grasped one another tight. "Payday geeet!" Trent cheered.

"TRENT!" Suwako cried, pulling Trent into a tight hug, as if she was afraid of ever letting go. "I-I thought you were dead..." She cried, crying tears of relief.

"A real man never kicks the bucket..." Trent said. Kisume just happened to sneeze at that very moment. "....not even when he is swallowed hole by pickled broccoli layered in fish oil from a giant 200 meter long whale."

"Tehehehe~" Suwako giggled a little through her tears. "Silly Trent, whale aren't fish..."

"They aren't...?" Trent blinked. "Those whales lied to me!" He gasped in outrage.

"Yuyu, now!" Sean shouted. A beam sword extended itself through the Daihitenryoku's mid-section. Sean nervously fidgeted as Yuyu held the sword in place.

"SEAN!" Zou roared, kicking Sean back and slashing his katana at Sean's nachtmare. "I have no time for the likes of you! Suwako-sama! SUWAKO-SAAAMAAAAAAAAAAAA!" He called out into the rushing air.

The Noble White chose that very moment to boost up behind Suwako and Trent, cockpit open. Tenshi and Yukari reached out and pulled them out of their freefall and back into the safety of the nacht. With a silent hiss, it sealed itself shut once more.

"Shirayuki-chan!" Suwako glomped her usual Linker seat. "You came for mes, yeps! And you brought Trents! I'm so happy!" She cried out through tears of joy.

"Phew, glad that's over..." Tenshi sighed, plopping back into her usual seat.

"It's far from over." Yukari muttered, darkly. "Back to your seats, people. We've got a mana core to catch!"

"Now Feel the piercing strength of Justice!" Yelled out Anthony, charging with the Bang Nail in hand at Zou. One of the Zero ARCs commandos managed to blast the Mazingetter's booster unit.

"Dang it we're going down Anthony!" Yelled out Letty.

"Well, if we can't get close, we'll send them a present from afar!" answered Anthony. Then the MazinGetter threw the bang nail and followed up with it's rocket punch right behind it, being the hammer for this nail. "TAKE THIS! SUPER, BANG NAIL PUNCH!" Yelled Anthony.

Unfortunately, before Anthony could attack with the nail, he was suddenly knocked aside by a mysterious red mech that came out of seemingly nowhere.

"What was that?!" screamed  Letty.

"You do know the price of treason, right?" transmitted an oddly young sounding female voice to the Mazingetter.  "Why where you firing on friendly troops?"

"You..." muttered anthony "It's you...rouge"

"Ah, I see my reputation precedes me..." The girlish voice giggled softly.  "Now, answer my question before I lose patience with you."

"I am not the one truly betraying, I was betraysed before, being lied too, and now I see the true justice, and defeating the evil of this universe!"

"Who the hell is that one?" Cries Kisume as Rouge's mecha comes into view.

"I'm not sure," Shizuha answers.

"Oh, really?"  Another giggle from the red mech.  "And what is this "evil of the universe" you speak of?"

"The corporations, all of them! I thought mars was the only one free of it, but I was wrong, all of them are evil! and so, I shall go on, and defeat every single one of them!" Anthony shouted.

"Who is that guy with the nail?" asks Kisume, as she dodges around a Zero-ARC's energy axe.

"He's...I'm not sure who he's with, but I think he is working with us." Shizuha answers, as Kisume cuts into the offending Zero-ARC's arm.

"He's the guy who said cool things while we were fightin' the Mars People!" says Rumia, as she aims at another Zero-ARC.

"That's guy? Huh," says Kisume as she jets back before the Zero-ARCs could swarm her, and Rumia fires upon them to hold them back.

"Now Rouge! I shall defeat you!" Yelled out Anthony, preping for throwing the nail at Rouge.

Rouge merely laughed.  "Oh, you've got spirit... I like that~" The red mech readied it's weapon, a nasty looking energy lance.

"Well, you shall be the first. To meet the power, OF MY TRUE JUSTICE!!!" Yells Anthony, who changed the Mazingetter's stance to hold the nail like a sword.

"...You do realise you sound like an idiot, right?  "Oh, oh, true justice, ultimate evil, wah wah!"  Heh."  mocked Rouge.  "Sakuya... You know what to do~"

"Affirmative, mistress." replied a calmer, more mature sounding voice.

"You are the foolish one, for someone who doesn't believe in these, Shall never achive True Victory!"Anthony declared. Letty just facepalmed, feeling a bit sorry for Anthony, and feeling jealous of Orange being the one knocked out

"I don't know, I seem to be doing just fine so far~" As though it had moved instantaneously, the red mech was suddenly behind MazinGetter.  There was a light chuckle over the intercom, before it pierced the side of it's opponent with the lance.

"Dang it, boosters off line, and the tomahawk is lost" Muttered Letty.

"Don't give up like that! we can still win!" Yelled out Anthony, who then made the MazinGetter's arm swing around in a 360 degree arc, hitting Rouge that was behind them



"Hmm, that Frame that Noble White is fighting can take a beating, can't it?" Shizuha says.

Rumia aims for the weapon arm of another Zero-ARC as Maple Force collided with another Zero-ARC, causing it to tumble head over heels.

"OUT OF MY WAY, SEAAAAAAAAAAN!" Zou was in a furious rage as he slashed at Sean, whose cloaking device had begun to fail.

"G-gah, too close, much to close, got to get away!" Sean gasped. Sean frantically grabbed at the controls and rapidly reversed thrust, pulling the sword out and sending the Falter zooming out of the way.

Suddenly, the tunnel widened out into a huge chamber. There, far below them, in the middle of the huge spherical chamber, sparkled the small, half-nacht-sized circular mana core that powered the entire Sanctuary.

"It's the mana core." Yukari observed.

"That thing powers the Avalon?" Tenshi asked.

"Yes, and it has gone critical." Yukari said, noting the arcs of energy bursting out of it.

"The mana core!?" yelled Yorihime.  "What do you plan to do with THAT, Yukari!?"

"I'm taking it." Yukari replied to Yorihime, with a hint of glee.

"I... I can't let y-" Yori began.

"Yes we can, Yorihime.  I just... Have a feeling we should trust her for now." Nathanial said, in a calming voice.

Shizuha, in the meantime, sends out a comm to her allies. "This is Red. What is wrong with that thing? Over~"

"Bucket Force, everyone, that core is failing! Treat it with care!" Yukari shouted over the coms.

"Oh, that's Yukari!" says Shizuha. "You heard her, Green."

Visual Description: Somewhat taller and more muscular than most, Mike isn't the typical sniper. With short blond hair and blue eyes, he seems to be more of a surfer than anything else.

History/Background: A friend of Jan's from the Martian Naval Academy, he was drafted into Jan's Dakka Brigade almost immediately upon its creation. Being from a military family, his discipline and intelligence combined made for a great combination Jan simply couldn't help but get along with, almost as a direct opposite to Jan's other good friend, Anthony Kabuto. After Jan left, he continued to lead the Dakka Brigade from the rear, using his machine's scanners to feed information as he had done before.

Mecha: Heavy
Despite holding a sniper's position at the rear lines, his machine is still of the standard Martian variety. His machine's weight allows Mike to use two sniper rifles at once, although he usually only uses one.

The pinnacle of Martian Recon technology, this scanner array constantly feeds data to Mike's machine. He then relays the data to the entire unit,making him an invaluable asset to the Dakka Brigade. The scanner array itself is capable of uncovering almost any type of stealth mech from a considerable distance, allowing him to warn his teammates or take out the target without them ever knowing he is there.

Visual Description: A beautiful young woman, Florence doesn't strike many as a demolitions expert. Standing at five and a half feet tall, with long, curly brown hair and brown eyes, she is the very essence of the elite families of Mars.
Personality: While a professional on the battlefield, she tends to be more relaxed than the other members of her unit, along with her childhood friend Marco.
Partners: Dakka Brigade

History/Background: A member of the elite families at the head of the Martian Foundry Corporation, Florence was destined to become one of the corporation's many aristocrats. However, she tired of her boring life, which consisted of greeting her family's various business partners and other members of the Martian aristocracy, and left for the Martian Naval Academy at the suggestion of Marco Bernardino. Her knowledge of explosive chemistry and her knack of causing unfortunate "accidents" combined to give her a bad reputation, but her skills were recognized by Jan Monteiro. She was the second to join his new Dakka Brigade, and continued to follow both his and Micheal Taylor's orders after his departure.

Mecha: Heavy
Dakka 3, being the unit's demolitions expert, is equipped with many explosive weapons. Using the data fed to her machine from Dakka 2, she can target the weak points of any structure, as well as use her homing missiles to devastating effect.

Strength: Laid-back, he is able to stay calm in battle and everyday life. His sense of humor often helps calm his teammates as well.
Weakness: Doesn't get serious very often, meaning he is more apt to underachieve.
Home: Martian Foundry Corporation
Visual Description: His black hair and startling blue eyes make this tall young man handsome to many Martian Naval Academy recruits.
Personality: Loud and active, Marco intentionally tries to rile people up into having fun.
Partners: Dakka Brigade

History/Background: The Bernardino family used to be a member of the Martian Aristocracy, but was disgraced when an important business deal fell through. Marco was born before the fall of the family, and his childhood was abruptly changed by the experience. To cope, he became a humor-monger, and he set his sights on putting his family back into the elite status it had occupied in the past. When his childhood friend Florence Bonati expressed her desire to leave her aristocratic life behind, Marco saw an opportunity to earn fame for himself and his family.

Mecha: Heavy
With its thruster system, Dakka 4 is able to move in and out of cover easily, fooling enemies into thinking he is more than one machine. Marco's mech is outfitted with various light and medium weapons, but his booster systems allow him to keep his heavy armor while maintaining a high agility.

Visual Description: A smaller girl, Rachel's most prominent features are braided black hair and her round glasses, helping her brown eyes.
Personality: Nervous around her superiors, Rachel is otherwise an intelligent young woman and enjoys helping others.

History/Background:

Mecha: Medium
The only medium mecha in the Dakka brigade, she prefers to fight with speedy weapon-draws than with the aid of boosters. A natural gunslinger, Dakka 5 is a machine meant to take on multiple enemies from any direction at once. Rachel's pride and joy are her ability to quickly swap weapons, as well as the ammo settings on her shotguns. The shotguns have a variety of auto-loaded ammunition, from rifle-like shells to scattering walls of buckshot.

Judging By The Size of This Crater, Someone Brought the Ruckus! - Starship Amazing

The Martian Capital ship crashed on the palace, opening a way down to the Mana Core. Now everybody wants a piece of the action! Zou beat up Noble White, everyone beat up Zou (who is on his last legs), Rouge is causing problems! The Zero-ARCs are causing problems!

Topside, there are still some dudes; mostly stragglers, damaged mechs, and people collecting escape pods.

Elsewhere, Reimu and the calvary have come to try to get into Avalon, but mostly find transports wanting to escape and a lot of angry dudes.

I think that's indicative of the main problem, namely that co-posts have become bloated and are collapsing under the weight of peoples' contributions.  As the old saying goes, too many cooks spoil the soup.  Really, at the risk of sounding unnecessarily harsh, did people forget how to write stories on their own?

Untrapping yourself from a copost isn't hard. Just do a couple short posts with limited actions until things become untangled. Just avoid character controlling the other people and you're fine. I'd been holding off myself, as I'd been waiting on Anathe and Trance to get more involved, but I suppose there is a breaking point.

Also, Rabbit does have a point that coposts are too large to be easily manageable. Not to mention that when they finally get done, the editing to make them half-decently readable is a trial in and of itself.

So yeah, it'd be advisable to just cruise along with real posts for a bit.
