>Flandre does seem just a little bit annoyed at that, but doesn't use your apology to discuss it further. She and Meiling listen as you outline what you've learned about the topics above. "That might make things tricky," Meiling says, frowning. "I need to be close to be at my best."
>"You don't need to be at your best," Flandre says. "We're not going with any intention of fighting, so it's going to be okay. We're trying to get through to her, rather than kick her head off."

>Fire will not hurt when time is stopped. As for traps, it depends on their nature. If it something triggered by physical force, say a tripwire, it may affect you if the forces set into play by the triggering are strong enough to overcome frozen time. Usually this is not the case, and it would run out somewhere midway, possibly spoiling the trap as a whole. And if you yourself don't apply enough force to trigger it to begin with in the frozen time, then nothing should happen. Spells shouldn't take affect, you think.

>"Yes, the goal is not to kick her head off. But from what I've heard, it may not be possible to avoid some kind of fight, so we should at least be ready. Just think of it like solving an incident, and afterwords everyone can have a nice cup of tea. Including Patchouli."

...that's painting a pretty picture, but, that's what we'll have to do for the moment. Reality will talk for itself once we're there, and they've been warned.

>Having left Reimu inside, you content yourself to give a wave, and then depart.
>The entrance to Makai isn't terribly far away, but it is a little tricky to find your way back to. It is tucked away in such a manner that the cavern is mostly obscured by a hill, and there aren't too many notable landmarks. Still, you find it without too much faffing about.

>Make our way towards Koakuma's place.

>It is a little easier to get through the tunnel this time, with two youkai to guide you through the darkness.
>Reaching Makai, neither Flandre or Meiling are particularly pleased with the sight of the giant buildings, the noise, all the lights... Meiling mutters about it being Apex but worse, which still feels rather accurate.
>Along the way, Meiling makes small talk, going on minor details about her travels. about her work with her dojo, and so on. You quickly realize she's going out of her way not to mention anything particularly noteworthy, naming some students you couldn't hope to recognize, talking about having tea at a teahouse that probably won't exist for a couple hundred years or more after your era. Still, the picture you get is interesting, it seems she hardly stays anywhere for more than a few years after she was officially released from service after the Scarlet Devil Mansion became the Lakeside Temple. While she largely stays nearby to help out the Temple, and look after her own dojo, which she admits she neglects more than she ought, she also has a tendency to just pick a direction and start walking, and not really stop for some months. She doesn't seem inclined to explain why, and perhaps she has no real idea or concern why.
>It takes some time, but you eventually reach the South Pandamonium Tower. It doesn't seem any less busy than before.

> Make our way inside and to the device that brought us up to the floor with Koa's club.

>You make your way inside. The inner floor is as busy and full of life as you remember. You're still quite certain that you're the only human here, but it's nice to have a couple of familiar youkai at your side as you make your way through the crowds. Using the glass tubes rooms, Flandre helpfully names this as elevators, is still an experience of various youkai giving you looks. However, when mention of "shitty meat" is said just loud enough to be heard, Meiling gives them a glare and cracks her knuckles loudly, which puts and end to that.
>Soon enough, you step off at the 109th floor, where the tall, busty oni with the brown braid and the Reisen suit still stands guard. What was the name Koa gave her?
>"She's still busy," the oni says as you leave the elevator.
