Author Topic: 東方不思議の大冒険 チルノ見参! Cirno's mystery adventure translation  (Read 5536 times)

hello, i had a general translation i worked on awhile ago, i went back to it updated it to the 1.34 patch and improved and added alot to it.
this is a touhou mystery dungeon game with Cirno as the main character.

this requires version 1.34 of the game to work, update patch is here: http://www.usamimi.info/~crosslodge/patch/cirno_patch134.zip
translation: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xytp504xoilq2i0/cirno%27s%20mystery%20adventure%20patch.zip

gameplay video:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WiAtPW66EQ

all item names are translated, most of the dialogue, enemies, in-game, and menu/info are translated.
there are missing pieces especially with the advanced item information and npc names(game crashes when i edit these), but the game should be 100% playable

please note that the input engine is finicky about multiple controllers so only have 1 or no controllers hooked up when playing.

Well since nobody has replied to this, allow me to thank you for translating a roguelike, and congratulate you for being the first to successfully patch a touhou roguelike. :3

Holy cowbells, is this for real?! Thanks a ton! I can't wait to get my grubby hands on this!
I'm curious, do you know if the process you used for this game would/does/whatever work on the rest of the series? I recall that the very first game was never translated because of technical issues and if whatever you did in this game works with that....

you're welcome :)  i had to rush it a bit in the end, but it should work great for people who can't read the game(like myself lol) playing these games without at the very least knowing what items are which, really makes it difficult to play imo.
i actually was interested in getting into translating a basic item patch(probably menus too) for some aqua style games but idk the tools needed for their bin files.

"Cirno's Mystery Adventure 2" generally looks like the same system, so a translation is very possible, i have another project atm though(it caused me to rush this one so i wouldn't leave it on the backburner lol)

This isn't the game series by Aquastyle; the system is similar, but is simplified and the spritework, while similarly animated, has a different art style. I do not recall of any efforts going towards this company's stuff...
