> "Uh...."  Okuu's face falls.  "The power is in emergency lock-down because of the water, but they were originally placed in case of a meltdown so I can't unlock them.  Snake lady can do it, though.  Where is she?"

> "Okay."  Okuu grins and continues rolling around in the snow.

> You call out to Koishi, and feel someone tap you on the shoulder.
> "I'm here!" says Koishi.

> "Yup."  She's holding a jar of snow in her arms.

> You and Koishi start walking back towards the house.  Along the way, you tell Koishi a bit about the Scarlet Devil Mansion.  She has a sort of blank expression on her face as she listens to you, but when it's her turn to talk, she smiles.

> You and Koishi take to the skies, and fly out over the city.  You cross the bridge, fly up the half-frozen tunnel, and return to the surface.  The air has gone cool in the late afternoon.  Koishi lifts the brim of her hat and looks around with owl eyes, tapping her fingers on the lid of the jar.  You land in the backyard of the shrine, in mercifully soft grass.

> You go into the shrine, through the kitchen and towards one of the shelves in the other room.  On this bookshelf, you have a few books and other little trinkets that you keep for easy access.  You pick up a box and open it to reveal a pile of omamori.  As you're doing this, you call out for Akyuu.
> "Yes, I'm here!"  Akyuu walks into the room with a basket of linens in her arms.  "Has everything been okay?  There's a girl out front looking for you."

> "It's the magician's familiar, from the Scarlet Devil Mansion," Akyuu says.  "She's very insistent on seeing you, and refuses to leave."

> Akyuu follows you over to the box.  You take a look at the omamori inside.  There are omamori for good luck, love, avoidance of evil, protection for pregnant women, familial safety and prosperity, and education...you don't think you've ever used any of these for yourself before now.
> As you sift through the box, you ask Akyuu about the underground shrine.  She chews her lip in thought.
> "Um...I'm afraid I've never heard of that person, or of any shrines in the Former Hell."  She sounds incredibly sheepish.

> You backtrack, get Koishi, and drag her back out front.  Akyuu trails behind, and the three of you walk out to the donation box to see Koakuma, standing on the shrine pathway and looking bored.  She's wearing a floppy, frilly sunhat that clearly belongs to Patchouli.
