I?m a DOTSer from China， recently our platform have a post of English and it?s surprised me。
?Does other country's people also play DOTS？！！?
Then I search the keyword ?Defence of The Shrines? on Google， and Google direct me here....

So....may I presume to start a communicate post here？It's just like say hello to you...
emmm....I?m studying English now， and planing to take an IELTS exam。
If I have any language error， please correct me....

Well， I have to prepare for my English language course now（this afternoon）

the post of our platform is using English but the starter is an Korean .....

Welcome I post on touhou.cc too using the same name and play in HF too. The Korean player that you saw was Smile and he played here for a while too. Yes there are DotS players outside of HF/11 but we are from all over the place, e.g. USA, places in Europe, other places in South East Asia, etc. Some play in Garena, here we play on a pvpgn server (details in another post on this board). From China, your ping to the host bots that we use would be about 100-200ms though, much higher than your pings in HF rooms. Oh we also try to update the English DotS wiki here. It should be updated for v0.977 soon since I've just released the English version of the map.

Howdy stranger.  We have people from all over the world.  I'm from Canada, and some of our players are from Australia!  If you would like to play a game with us(or us with you if possible), hop in our IRC channel if you want to talk to us.  We come here to organize games.

Don't be surprised if it takes a long time though.  Foreign dots groups are small and far away.  We only have about 20 total people on occasionally so it is hard to get a 5v5 game going.  We play .967 a lot because it is 4v4 as a result.

Welcome to MotK. As Dular said, we organise our games on IRC before logging into Bnet. Come by during the week to just meet some of us. On the weekends we might be able to get games going more regularly when people don't have studies or work to take care of.

We occasionally play with a few members from the Korean DotS community too.

We play .967 a lot because it is 4v4 as a result.

or....I?d better consider about the time different？

In fact， I?m going to study abroad in future， if there are enough guys also play DOTS abroad， I will feel more secure。
Play a game of DOTS every night is a habit to me， just like my parents have got to used to watch TV after dinner。
I am worrying about that，if it difficult to find a match of Dots

Well, I'm not actually sure how many people we have off the top of my head. Let's see...

Me, Infinity, PX, Amra, Shadowbringer, Helepolis, Pesco, Dular, Panda, Loolicon, DollS, Trance, ActionDan, YoukaiJesus, Yukarin, Thanuris, RV29, Apharmdb, Magna, headcrabs, WhiteWish, FFMaster, Kaito, and some others that I'm probably forgetting.
Of course, some play more frequently than others, so I guess ~20 would be a good estimate.

well...in fact， I think the ver0.977 of map can also play （ignore the lack of members....）
we can close two seats of BL（we call BL to shrine of Reimu）and SS （shrine of sanea）
0.977 and 0.967 are totally two different maps....I think the new items and new system is pretty interesting.....

Our small community (and the Korean community that came here as well) would always do good to have extra players, even though I don't play as much as I should anymore. But yeah, we don't generally play the 0.977 versions very much, and play mostly the 0.967 English versions (since most of us don't know Chinese)

I don't actively participate in any other DotS communities, so I am not entirely sure.
However, I do hear that there are much larger communities than ours out there.
For example, there are many players in the SEA region that play on garena and stuff.

We are rather small when it comes to being a DotS community.

Maybe there are another larger group of DOTS.....But  ApharmdB has done a great job so I know him
he translate the 0.977g to english，it's really surprise me
our chinese translating team is lack of member， and the task of translation of new map have a long time haven't start（we think the version of 977 is not balance and stable）
I have heard that international friends are playing 0.949， but our platform have renew map to 0.977，that make me very guilty
sometimes we have done the translating of maps 0.9xx，but production has renew the map to many versions later.....

All in all，he showed me great favour。
but I don?t know he is member of your platform....

English is the language we use, but we got many different people from different countries: America, Philippines, Taiwan, Australia, Netherlands, Germany, etc etc.



Yes. We are very thankful to have ApharmdB in our community as well. He is active on many boards I think. He works hard for DotS translations because he has the language skills. Other people in our community help out with the Wiki updates and such or forum.

ApharmdB has done a great job, he's translated 0.967 maps for us, translated changelogs, informed us of any mechanical issues and bugs with the game, set up bots for us to use and he's a good DotS player.

And yep he's a member of our community as well. We'll stab him until he gives us the translated 977 map :3

And don't worry about your Japanese, almost no one else knows a lot of Japanese here anyway.

To be honest, my japanese are too poor tounderstand post of 2ch
For communicate with Japanese friends， we always have people carry post text from Japanese website（it's usually 2ch）and translate to us。
so I always want to direct talk with international guys
especially our neighborhood Japanese
