-There are almost literally no buses. The government won't spend a dime on public transportation.
-Everyone else won't shut up about how they think we have the best weather. In fact, having no seasonal variation makes things pretty boring.
-Celebrity tabloid news is unavoidable, no I don't give a damn about Britney Spears or Brad and Angelina or whoever else is on the cover, I would like to hear some real news stories.
-Also inescapable is gangster rap and the violent culture surrounding it. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is pretty much a documentary.

Don't forget that your state is not legally able to raise taxes without a super majority in state legislature, meaning it's also nearly impossible to fund anything. (Which actually feeds into a lot of those points!)

Not the worst state, but immensely overrated. People have gone mad with envy toward Californians, but nobody really understands what it's like for most of the people living here.

Yeah, back in the day I had a glorified view of California.. but i'll admit that was largely because when I went there they actually had stores selling anime merchandise, and this was in like the late 90's. :3

New Jersey or Massachusetts is actually sounding pretty sweet now that you guys mention it.

It really sucks. In elementary school we went of a field trip to Washington DC, and and we would tell people we're from California. And they would get this scornful look on their. And we were like, "Teacher, why is the tour guide so bitter?"

I thought I mentioned it once thousands of years ago. I mean, I'm not Jersey-born, but I've lived there for pretty much most of my life. About 12 years at the least.

Well, I don't really remember where in california I was before I moved to Jersey, but. I'm currently living somewhere in the depths of North Cape May. Don't really remember the specifics though due to my comically bad memory.

Or you could move into Houston, San Antonio, Austin... those are the nice parts.

But if you want a smaller town, the area between San Antonio and Austin is all good. I've been through San Marcos, Seguin, and New Braunfels, they're all great towns.

I actually like the weather in Texas, the wind feels nice.

I like how I didn't have to do anything to plug Massachusetts other than saying I was from it to get it listed amongst someone's top choices.
