Me, I was playing Persona 3:FES earlier today, and stopped as soon as I defeated the last of the Gaurdians on the 6th Block of Tartar Sauce. Now I'm playing one of my old favorite MS-DOS RPG games called Bob Quest.

I play it for nothing now because even the battles were boring. I thought that they required skill to cancel attacks but no, they shove assists in so it's impossible to go through a battle without maxing out your gauge.

Just finished MGS3 today. The weird thing is, I play games in bursts, which results in having unfinished game data on a lot of games. But thankfully I hardly need to refresh myself when I get back into it because of my good memory.

So? I did it when I was 15. Perhaps your sister has good reflexes and timing. And besides, Hardest difficulty Blind is a bazillion times easier than Hard difficulty Blind

I just gave Bioshock a try. Boy, was the beginning SCARY. Seeing a Big Daddy for the first time, and watching it smack a poor Splicer around for attacking its Little Sister...I'm not used to FPSes on consoles, and I'm all like "I have to go through all this just to get some Adam?!" Now I'm nervous.

It probably is, but I saw it sitting on the shelf behind the counter at the aforementioned GameStop. No one bothered to buy it, so I assume it's either for display, or no one's buying it. What I'd like to know is if it's worth buying and playing or not.
BTW Picross DS is probably the best of the Picross games. Griddlers.com is probably the best free Picross game site.

Went back to Oneechanbara Vortex and beat it on Violent. The game is still really bad, but I have 30 hours into it for some reason. It's a shame, I mean, there's an actual combo system in there and they tried really hard with it, but the game is so fucking awful at the same time.

Tales of Vesperia finally came out in Europe, so I'm finally starting on it. Shit is so cash.
Also trying to play Pangya, but I get very irritated by two things.
- The game loves to taunt me when I'm putting by stopping the ball right in front of the hole, no matter how much extra power I put into the shot.
- I get owned by Rookie F players who paid for all the broken equipment, just because I'm playing for free.

Wait, it didn't suck...but I have no idea why I never used it.

You don't get good at CoD4. It's already so easy :P
Competition is a joke in it as well, it's just horrible. Set grenades, 2-shot kill automatic weapons with perfect accuracy, and bad maps (yes I take every opportunity to bash this game).
I'm addicted to Diadra Empty and DotA (again).
Thinking about hooking up my PS2 again so I can finish MGS3 and Radiata Stories.

Note that this game is from the creator of Jumper so expect frustratingly hard platforming and some irritating bosses if you ever decide to play it. I regret starting the game on normal difficulty.

Nowadays I mostly just play Touhou and DROD. DROD is an obscure turn-based puzzle game. You control a guy with a sword, and each turn you can either move or turn your sword 45 degrees. The object is to kill all the monsters in each room without being killed yourself, which is often quite difficult.

I found the Rockman 2 hack Rockman Deus Ex Machina (http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/433/). While yes, it has parts of the turned up difficulty for no reason many hacks suffer from, it's not AS bad as many others, and it's definitely the most innovative Rockman 2 hack I have played.
It's not the first one I've played where Items 1, 2 and 3 are changed, but it's the first I've played where they're changed to this degree - 1 activates temporary invincibility, 2 makes a small extra jump in the air allowing you to practically hover as long as you have energy and 3 is a high jump. No Items are actually spawned.
Some puzzles are done in ways I haven't seen in hacks before. All background music is changed. Boss patterns and weaknesses and subweapons are all changed. Stage graphics and background music are completely redone.
I'd probably call this the second best Rockman 2 hack I've played, with #1 being No Constancy (http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/321/).

Huh. I was actually willing to put up with the rental system. The thing that made me quit was the fact the patch reintroduced a myriad of long-fixed bugs, in addition to jacking the repair prices back up to open beta levels (making my perms useless). My patience for Alaplaya's retardation is at an end.

I know I dislike most RPGs, but I wanted to try FF after seeing some videos and finding the scenarios amazing.

Good and fun battle system, no random battles, no hard puzzles, simple and not too long dungeons and great music.

I've been playing Strikers 1999, ESP Ra.De., Bubble Symphony, and Bubble Memories a lot lately. Maybe I should give ESPGaluda or Mushihimesama another go.

Mana Khemia 2 is a fun game, even if it has yet another game freeze on enemy turn situation with the Space Ship, a second-go bounty. At least it's easy to kill and gives no extra stuff you can't get anywhere else (damn you Raki [AT2]).
Also playing through Boktai: The Sun is in Your Hand, trying to reach floor 99 of the Azure Sky Tower, and net myself both the Infinite and Guardian. Considering I have to fight my way up approximately 29 times in total (starts at 12 floors; 3 get added per victory), it takes about a week of on-and-off playing to make it all the way up to the top at the point I am now (90 floors).
Also playing through the Submachine and Shift flash games. I'm not particularly good at point-and-clicks, but eh.
Lastly, more picross.

I'm playing Super Mario World on the virtual console. You know, I like to consider myself pretty good at most video games, but for some reason I suck at this game...I really don't understand. The controls seem so finicky, I'm always jumping into the sides of enemies instead of on them.
So right now I'm on the Donut plains. Derp. >_>

To be fair, for only a few bucks you can import (nearly) all of Rock Band 1's songlist into Rock Band 2 (unless you're playing on the Wii, in which case I don't think it works, sorry).

Secondly - wat. Excluding all the Toad Houses/bonus games/Hammer Bros/Treasure Ships (do ho ho), the game had 90 levels by my count. Alright, so two of those are the Piranha Plant stages from World 7 and three are Hand Traps from World 8, but even so, compared to SMW's 96 'exits' (I think it's something like 72 actual levels) it holds up pretty nicely. I'm aware that many of SMW's levels are generally longer, although some (Star Roads, Top Secret Area) clearly aren't.
And plain? IMO that's a criticism more applicable to SMW's aesthetically similar overworld/underworld levels than SMB3's setup with distinctly themed worlds. Again, going by the All Stars version here. Don't even get me started on the powerups.

Oh god I got back into FFXI why am I doing th- oh hey, let's party with a group of Japanese people at 11 PM.
This was so much fun it should've been illegal. Except we couldn't understand each other, which was a let-down. It was hilarious seeing myself scramble the translation program in XI for stuff that made some sort of sense.
Also, I bought KOTOR and Braid for cheap McCheap prices, so I've got that to do, as well as Dawn of War: Winter Assault, Dissidia, and Monster Hunter Freedom Unite... Oh wow, I just realized just how many games I bought at the low price of Cheap.

Diablo II: LoD Expansion for the win.
I've always wanted to play the game and finally I was talking to people down in the lobby of my dorm and someone mentioned they could get it to me. <3
Right now I have a level 15 Werebear Druid and I'm working on a Summoner Necromancer who is Level 5. I like the werebear but he seems to crumble down pretty easily from mobs, I've gotten him so far now though, I just feel like I need to stick with him. The Necromancer is awesome so far, I love having an army of skeletons to do my bidding while I watch.

BTW, ShiningDrake, watch out in the Second and Extra scenarios in MK2 - there are a number of game freezing glitches.
Things to be wary of:
A UFO Trap Box type-enemy in the Second Scenario - the first attack is a guaranteed freeze unless Broken or put to Sleep. If you've played the first game, the distinctive appearance of Muppy's UFO will clue you in. Blast it with Tera Flames.
Finishing Strikes when Punis are in your party as PCs (Playable Characters). Yes, this does happen once.
Ulrika as party lead when looking at Jobs in the Extra Scenario - either in the Student Handbook or the Job Board at Student Affairs. If you're playing as Raze for the first go, no worries - just make sure Raze is in whenever Ulrika is in. Of course, if you picked Ulrika first, you'll have to remove her entirely from the main party before you can take Jobs.

Infamous is really good. It may look like a ripoff of GTA at first glance, but trust me, it's not a ripoff. It's a lot of fun.

Ninja Gaiden II.

Really, it's brilliant, the scenarios are all simply beautiful and all.
And it's really, really fun to kick the crap out of everyone.

I've all of them now, I'm so so close to comppletion of the game.
Really, don't pick a favorite weapon. Each one of them have very specific characteristics, and are best for different kinds of battle.
The Dragon katana of course is the most balanced, but I barely used it until now, I liked the other ones better.
Then I got a good reason for using it, but I wont spoil you.
I love the Lunar Staff, because it's power level is OVER 9000.
It has great range and power, and thus kicks ass, so it's a good choice when you have a medium number of relatively strong opponents.
Dragon's Claw and Tiger's Fang are simply awesome(yeah, I love most weapons), and I think their best use is against a really big mob of enemy ninjas.
The Kusari-gana's movement is wicked, use it against many(many) weak enemies. It can't be used to fight anyone strong, though.
The Scythe is FUN. It's so heavy that your movements with it seem comic, and yet devastating and bloody. Since it's slow, it sucks against large numbers, but when a small crowd of strong fuckers appear, it'll do the job with honor. Get it as fast as possible, it's really fun.
The Tonfa is fun against small to medium numbers of memium strength enemies. It seems like the less violent weapon in the game but OH IT'S NOT. It crushes the enemies, literally, instead of cutting them appart.
I got the Vigoorian Flail today, and I'm impressed, because even with the smaller range, it's greater speed makes it as fun and easy to combo as with the Staff.
There. Use all the weapons, they're all so cool.

edit: I forgot to mention the Talons. They're the only ones I don't like. They're short ranged, not so fast, weak defense blablabla. Also Ryu looks like a fucking idiot doing flips and kicking like an angry kid and even running wearing the thing. I don't use them.

Armored Core: Formula Front. A game where you are in charge of designing and fielding a team of five different robots so that they can duel other robots and shred each other apart for the sake of entertainment. Too bad the quality is so high (PSP) that it can only support 1P.

As for my end, I'm replaying the first two Metroid Prime games, as well as random bouts of Ace Combat Zero when I feel like trying to get the last two medals and the SP paint scheme for the FALKEN. When I'm in transit (four goddamn hours a day), I have Metroid Zero Mission, Metroid Fusion, and Polarium Advance to mess around with. Damn that squirrel.

As long as no landing ships reach the end of the battle zone before the first burst missile, you should be fine. Don't worry too hard about taking out every ship, since all non-objective ships can and will respawn.
IIRC, you should have available one plane with anti-sea missiles. Those will (should) take out anything less than a destroyer in one shot, and will obliterate all AA on everything but bosses. Use guns to take out the destroyers once their AA is gone. Drop a single missile at each heli, and use guns and missiles to take out the landing ships. As for the boss itself, focus on taking out its guns first - let your allies take the assorted aircraft that spawn from its launcher. If you're using a plane with UGBs, basically dump them in pairs on the sub's defenses - with any luck, you'll severely damage, if not destroy, a few of them. If you run out of all your main weapons, just gun it to death - if you're playing on Medium or lower, you have infinite gun ammo anyway.
Or you can just focus on the main part of the sub. Dealing enough damage to that section will send another TLS down from Arkbird, destroying any remaining defenses.

So I'm going to start Majora's Mask, the much better game~ If there's one thing I can say that makes the game, it's how it makes you give a damn about the place you're saving. I mean, in Ocarina of Time the only characters that even have names that aren't the sages can be counted on two hands, while almost everyone in Clock Town has a name and personality.

I've somehow managed to get sucked into Dwarf Fortress again. There's something oddly satisfying about building a secret entrance into a cave formation and considering the thousand ways you can turn it into a deathtrap.

RosenkreuzStilette is surprisingly easy for a MegaMan clone. But then again, I already know the trick behind the Leviathan clone who fights like Air Man (Trauare), and Schwer's stage was funny as hell. Too bad the 1.06a patch (which I assume has support for 7) is incompatible with the English patch (which is 1.05c), and godamn you and your Quick Man lasers, Freudia.

I've played it a bit more, and maybe I was a little harsh at first. But I'm a big fan of the Genesis Sonics, and Chaotix isn't really in the same galaxy, let alone the same league. As for Mighty, the guy has a tendency to get the short end of the playable character stick (see also Sonic Heroes).

my friend brought his laptop to school so we've played Modern Warfare 2.
It made me laugh how the game babysits you by giving your checkpoints after every objective and the fact that you are near invincible with super fast regeneration like fucking Wolverine or something.
Finishing MoH: Frontline on Easy was an accomplishment since there are no checkpoints at all and health doesn't work on a lame regen system.
This "real game" as the kids now call it? A fetus wouldn't have any problems finishing it.
Seriously, where is the goddamn CHALLENGE these days.

For nostalgia's sake, I played Super Star Wars for the first time in about 10 years and got all the way to stage 4. It was the first time I had gotten past stage 3 without having to use a Game Genie code. lol I sucked so bad at video games when I was a kid. Stage 3 is still annoying as hell (giant upward-scrolling platforming section that sends you back to the beginning if you fail one jump, unforgiving timer that makes aforementioned failures feel worse, enemies that knock you off ledges and respawn if you so much as walk fifteen feet away), but I had most of the jumps figured out by the time I got through. omgz guyz i totally gots to 1cc this.

Finally finished Majora's Mask. God, I love this game. Edges out Ocarina of Time by a mile.
I was not expecting what happened in the final battle to happen though. Turns out if you get the Fierce Deity's mask, the game keeps you from using your other transformation masks unless you use the song of time to reenter the place. Not wanting to take the iiji modo way out (I always hate trivializing final battles), I fought Majora...entirely as regular Link. My arrows ran out halfway through Majora's Incarnation, so I had to fight Majora's Wrath entirely with the sword (which I didn't power up either).
...Does anyone else know how hard that is? Majora's Wrath almost never leaves itself open to a sword slash, since it can either Pirouwhip away or give a mighty kick that knocks you back and does a heart worth of damage if you aren't blocking. The only way to hit it is to wait for it to try whipping you, dodge, roll in and slash before it counters or jumps away. And the second part where it starts grabbing you can't be avoided unless you're Zora Link, so yeah...I ran through four fairies before bringing it down. Closest fight I've had in a non-Touhou game since I beat Cynthia with Pokemon 20 levels under hers.

Was it a cockatrice? I think you fought them early and they could petrify you.

You know, for all the negative flak it got, I was expecting FFVIII to be terrible. It really isn't so far, though most of what I've been doing has admittedly been breaking the junction system (wheeeeeee 100 Curagas on HP at level 9)

As long as you keep your level low, it's basically a game wanting to be broken, since, like Tactics, enemies scale to your level. And that's without getting into Aura/The End abuse.

FFVIII is only hard when you are a clueless kid like I was when I first got it :V
I ended up using lower junctions when I was overpowered from before and the bosses were still way too easy. I banned Aura, fought the final boss with 4k hp, removed some junctions, still easy.
They are either extremely slow, do almost no damage, or.....yeah, you get me.
The fact that you get Protect and Shell at the 3rd boss and that it lasts a ridiculous amount of time is broken enough and if you have even the slightest idea of what you are doing you will be an overpowered bastard for the remaining 3 and a half of a disc.
No junction challenges are nothing but spamming limits and praying to God that you will be invincible for the most of the time.

The Huntsman is the best weapon in TF2.
Sniping with a rifle is one thing, but shooting an arrow without a scope and seeing it fly for a second or two before CRITICAL HIT pops up is one of the best things ever.

Oh god does that game get repetitive. I picked it up as well after hearing some negative reviews but thinking it might be good anyways. I was disappointed by the lack of control you get in the game. I hope you enjoy it more then I did.

I'm going to try and get 100% since this is my second playthrough. Though if I don't I won't be all that upset really.

DMC3 I guess, since Persona 4 is complete.
It was a half assed run(maxed only Magician, Priestess, Emperor for the persona upgrade, Hermit for Haikara Shirts and SP healing and Sun because that girl makes me nosebleed)
Some were completely missed.... Hierophant(only lv1 even though it's right before me), Fortune, Tower, Death, Moon and Hanged Man.
Yeah, missed more s.links than I've maxed. Go me.
Started on expert and I can't imagine playing on anything less - I've barely had any trouble with bosses.
Yukiko because I was only lv12 for most of my attempts....and that's all. I don't see anything hard about Kanji or Mitsuo.
Didn't even really fuse all that much, didn't bother with it at all once I got Black Frost until the final but not true final dungeon where I've fused a Loki and Trumpeter. Didn't even get the other 3 ma-dynes simply because I didn't care at all.
Overall, much better than P3 even though it was easier...I've liked how the characters are capable of buffing and doing serious damage compared to these autopilot meatshields from P3.
DMC should keep me entertained for a few more weeks/months.

Finished DMC3 on Normal.
The final boss was kind of challenging, probably because I've had only 2 bars past the first lifebar and barely any DT upgrades but pulled through on my 15th attempt or so. Gotta love Gold continuing.
Most of my rankings were B....damage was always D, same for time. Only used 2 items in the entire game iirc.

I've been playing through Megaman ZX these last few days, with both Spirit Tracks and KH: 358/2 in the wings.
I gotta say, ZX is a lot easier than the Zero series, even the Numbers and the Einherjar of Area N died pretty easily. Omega was a pain in the ass, though - his Zero 3 counterpart was easier, and it's really noticeable there that the ZX Saber has a shorter range than the Z Saber. Not to mention the Mega Man 2-esque insta-kill corridor with disappearing blocks that you have to go through both ways.

While I do love fallout 3 (I even got the special lunchbox edition) I find it's very prone to glitches and freezing even when the disc is just slightly scratched.

I've been playing Big Bang Beat, Melty Blood Act Cadenza, S4 League (which I still suck at, amazingly), and a little bit of Touhou 11/12.
I haven't been gaming as much though; I actually started to program a game. I haven't gotten it to do anything spectacular yet though, i'm having more "fun" coming up with the logic for the engine than I am coding the thing <_<
If I had decided not to use scripting early-on, this thing would probably be semi-kinda-almost-not-really playable right now, but because of my stubbornness to learn scripting I haven't gotten anywhere worth mentioning. But because of that setback I've found ways to compartmentalize and optimize modules that I never thought of before.

I play Heavy quite a bit actually. Hell, I think I play everyone. Mostly Spy, Medic, and Heavy.
Speaking of which, did you try the touhou fortress 2 mods? They're pretty amusing, and you could find voice packs for it on fps banana.

The fact that they decide the best way to represent the final dungeon is to make the enemies bat shit insane and force you to gain about 20 levels? >_> I do have to say it's exhilirating to come across a random boss enemy and survive though.

...Huh. I just beat FFIV DS. :V I decided that I would claw my way to Zeromus just to see what I was up against. I ran from every battle and fully expected to lose. However, it turns out that Zeromus of all people is nerfed; big bang is no longer a 1HKO unless you're really underleveled, and what is Zeromus without big bang? Once he moved on to Meteor, I ended up destroying him via an AI exploit I accidentally found:
Everyone is dead but Kain, who jumped before Meteor. Zeromus uses whirl to lower Kain to one health. I use jump, come down, deal about 5000 damage. Zeromus uses osmose, which is bad since my plan is for Kain to die with MP and cast Phoenix to revive everyone else. So I use a dry ether to restore the MP. Zeromus then uses whirl instead of meteor. I use jump, dealing about 5000 damage. He uses osmose, I ether, and we repeat until he goes boom. The Lunasaur I fought before him was much tougher.

I beat the GBA version a couple years ago. I did not know about this. Bahamut took a few tries.

Now playing Devil Survivor again. Mostly fun now, but OH MY FREAKIN' GOD KUDLAK, WHY IS MARI SO FRIGGIN' STUPID? It took half a dozen tries before she decided to do more than TWENTY damage to him with a hit (which mean she 1HKOed him, of course). AI...grrrrrgh. And I seemed to have missed something on day 6, because I'm supposed to be fighting Belial and the only available battle at 18:00 is Honda being an idiot AGAIN. Confuzzled.

shim: On the optimum path, there's another ally on the field. Have him attack Kudlak - he cannot kill the vampire, but he can drop him to 1HP. Direct Mari to him then. If you're not following that path, surround him with everyone you can, and whittle him down. That battle only really determines whether Mari will be playable on Day 7.
As for 18:00, just do the Honda event. If you are facing Belial, he'll show up at 18:30.
On topic, after blazing through 358/2 Days, I'm blazing through Spirit Tracks. I'm after the Compass of Light now, so I assume I'm at endgame already.

Just as playing OoT made me play Majora's Mask, playing FFIV made me start on FFV. I've only played these five games (never got FFVI Advance for some reason), but V is easily the best. There's something wrong when people think less of an RPG because it focuses more on GAMEPLAY than story. Even if the story is a little weak, the localization makes the characters a lot more likable than any of the ones in IV.
All I wish is that V would get remade like IV did. After getting my first taste of a 3d RPG, it's hard to go back to the immobile 2d ones. :\

Ok, after a few hours of gameplay, I only have two complains:
1. I still have a few problems with the controls.
2. The Energy System sucks. Period.

Hm. It seems that the difficulty of the ZX games isn't the bosses, it's the having to do the game twice to unlock everything. Especially when muscle memory kicks in on the bosses that change their special attacks depending on the player character. Not to mention you're now used to having freedom of movement with all the Biometals at your disposal, so the reversion back to extremely limited movement due to lack of them often leads to ramming right into spike walls (not that I don't do that with all the Biometals at some point).

Well after playing the sniping game I think I know why I fail so hard at sniping in S4 League:
1. My vertical aim is always off.
2. I am too anxious. Sometimes it's better to bide my time than to take a chance, miss, and make myself known.
3. I don't control my aim enough. Slight movements is all it takes to screw me up.
4. moving targets aren't a problem... until they start moving vertically and varying their move speed.

I don't think they intended to have such a large audience for the game at this point in time. I'm guessing they tried not to advertise too much, else their servers'd go kablooey.

Yummy bugs, though. One of the dungeons isn't working properly. Curse can bug out your equipment if you leave a dungeon while under its effects, making you unable to re-equip or sell them if you take them off. Lag is horrendous. The energy system sucks. Lack of content? Goes without saying.
That's to be expected, though, since it's only an alpha.
Ontopic: Stopped playing Spiral Knights for now. Went back to and finished TSE2 instead.

I'm going to start playing P4 again today, huzzah! Only up to Rise's, though...
Also beat Devil Survivor, Gin/Haru's route. Nothing in that game can top the final battle with Haru actually playing Demon of Darkness in the middle of it; that was AWESOME. Also, Hecate is easily the best demon in the game for overall value; a Tyrant with Mediarahan (and Holy Dance) completely outclasses every demon in the 40s and probably the 50s as well.
Oh, and 'nut - FFV is still my favorite FF, go go go

Eeee back to P4 (for two hours, but hey, and I gained a good half dozen levels in those two hours).
Next up: Max out Strength (already at 9 for some reason) and Magician (to upgrade Yosuke). Yosuke and Yukiko are givens, but who should I use for my fourth party member? I stopped using Chie when I got Kanji, so...Kanji, Teddie, Naoto?

I'd say Teddie. An extra healer is always good, and he learns two of the Taru-kaja skills. Bring Naoto in for stage sections, since Mamudo and Mahama skills are excellent for crowd control, if you're okay with having to head back to refill SP, since those two skills + Almighty skills burn through it fast. If you're not concerned about healing, Kanji excels in bosses, since both him and Chie have powerful physical and elemental skills (IIRC Chie has God Hand and Kanji has Primal Force, the best single-shot Physical attack in the game).
Back on topic, back to riding trains on Spirit Tracks. "Be vewy vewy quiet; I'm hunting wabbits."

Yeah...Naoto's skill setup is a bit...limited, for me. I don't see myself relying on Mahama/Mamudo much (miss way too often). Teddie's boosts and healing look nice, but Yukiko is pretty good for the healing, and without Kanji my physical damage will be pretty severely limited, methinks. Also, upgraded Kanji has no elemental weakness, while Teddie does; it's not that big a deal, but it would be nice...

Reinstalled Baldur's Gate/II/ToB/Tutu to go through the whole thing again, and some very basic mods to make it more interesting (SCS and an ITEM SPAWN RANDOMIZER, fuck yes because I can't pretend I don't know where to find a diamond, a ring of wizardry, an ankheg plate and a pair of boots of speed in ten minutes).
Having said that, I've been playing the "which character should I play" game for a about a week know. Probably going with kensai/druid; but considering the other frontrunners are assassin and F/M/T.... this could take another week. I'm even considering wizardslayer/druid with grandmastery in darts. :o

But 1-3 base damage is... asdafgdhfgajg and I really don't know if I want to go through it yet again with a support character. I've played it three times from Candlekeep to Sundalasadasdasdasar (and once through ToB); mage/cleric, archer, and blade. I kinda want the chil- main character to get the major share of the screen-shakers and instagibs this time. ;D

Well, finished the extra content in Chrono Trigger DS since that last post... the Dream Devourer fight wasn't too hard, though that could be because my level was in the low 60s when I fought it. :V

Speaking of which, Altus announced a PSP remake of P3...For the US. It's already out in Japan, and chances are I'm guessing a lot of people imported it already. That's just me, though. For the uninformed, P3 Portable has a few additions/changes:
-Players can choose a female character this time, and some story scenes and stuff have changed to reflect that (Social Links and whatnot).
-Exploration outside of Tartarus has been changed to a more 2D focused point and click kind of deal. I'm a bit torn about this, I always liked walking around town as opposed to clicking on menus and such (leers at FFTA/2). Social Link scenes are done using 2D portraits as well.
-There is no "Answer" campaign in this version. I'm a bit on the fence about this one; on one hand, it's absurdly hard from what I read; on the other hand it has a good story behind it that explains the reasoning behind the ending of P3's main story.
-There IS a big plus in this version, though: you can finally control your party members directly, just like in P4! No more having to put up with lousy AI when you can take the wheels yourself. Much <3 there, though I question why the heck Atlus never allowed you to directly control your comrades in the first place. In addition, the "Guard" command has been added from P4 as well, which should make a ton of boss encounters a lot easier.
The US version is coming out in July, and with P1 out as well, it seems I have a reason to buy a PSP again...But I could also get regular old P3: FES. Does this new release justify a purchase? I'd like to hear your opinions on this.

I'm torn between S4 and Touhou Labyrinth right now. Of course, when I get to school, it'll be Touhou Guru Guru and Touhou Labyrinth.
Speaking of which, I beat Guru Guru on normal. I'm skipping to the hardest difficulty, puzzle league games have always been too easy for me for some reason, even when everyone else is getting owned.

You always gotta play on Expert mode when it comes to Persona games. Did my first and second runthrough of persona 3 on expert. Thinking back on that it really wasn't that great of a plan since you couldn't control your teammates.
But when I read about that P3 remix on the PSP I got incredibly hyped.

I played on Very Easy while I was renting it. =V I wanted to finish the game before I had to return it, so I could see how the story turned out. Crazy.

P3 was pretty unfair on Expert and I remember the amount of resets for nearly every boss.
The bosses got higher level spells pretty fast and they were close to party wipes. And you got Mediarama 10 levels later compared to P4.
Status effects...I hated how nearly every boss had Poison Mist or Sexy Dance and one cast usually hit everyone because the hit rate was ridiculous on Expert. Poison completely screwed up the AI thanks to bad programming and Charm was just annoying.
Mind Charge could be only countered by praying that the enemy falls before a spell goes off. If it does, everyone is dead.
P4 was much, much better.

I only know what I know about P3 from watching LPs and stuff. As someone else in an earlier thread/post said, the difficulty was kind of all over the place in P3. P4's difficulty was a lot more gradual, I believe. It was still challenging, but not so punishing.
Makes you wonder what else Atlus has in store...I'm looking forward to 3D Dot Heroes, even though it's a 3D homage to 2D Zelda.

Eh I never found it all that bad. Sure there were some bosses that were an absolute pain in the ass to defeat. But almost everything single boss had some sort of weakness or had something that you could counter easily and find a path to victory.
Persona 4 is a walk in the park in comparison I only have been beaten once and that's by a certain exploding enemy and I only needed 30 more HP to live.
Don't get me wrong though I think persona 4 was a huge improvement I just wanted more of a challenge.

On topic, I found out yesterday that the first Command and Conquer, as well as Red Alert 1, was released as freeware two years ago. Thus, I'm trying to find a way to play it on Windows 7, having played RA1 a long time ago. I'm also trying to find Red Alert 3 without having to use eBay, but still haven't found a copy yet.

Beat Shadow Mitsuo. Ended up getting to level 44 off that. And now I remember why I wanted that level: So Black Frost could learn Agidyne. Agidyne + Fire Amp (don't have boost :() + Mind Charge = BOOM.

Whose idea was it to make the last Mission Crown prize worth 358 Crowns? Even if you complete all the available Holo-Missions, it's still about 40+ Crowns shy of the requirement - so 40 more missions that you just have to grind for.

Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition for pc, i finally want to unlock vergil, i never played easy only the harder difficulties
and since i am not capable of beating Arkham at the second highest difficulty i stuck, to hell with his attacks i can't recognise them properly

Second playthrough, hard, just defeated Vergil 1. Still trying to get the hang of Royal Guard.
and yeah, Arkham is a stupid boss. Why did he become a stupid blob when he already had that badass form which could have been a good fight unlike that lolcolorcoded attack one.
EDIT: Vergil 2 down.
Tried to Royal Guard most bosses. It's pretty cool to stop Beowulf's charge with one button press.

i am not capable of using royal guard i am simply to slow, against most bosses i use trickstar, against beowolf swordmaster because it works pretty n1 you jump to his head and hit him hard with rebellion
vergil isn't that difficult because after every move u can simply hit him hard, once u know how to avoid him u can kill vergil 1 and 2 and he doesn't even hit u, vergil 3 is a bit more luck because some of his moves are badass to avoid^^
i can also only play rebellion well nevan and cerberus are a nogo^^ beowolf is to slow for me and agni and rudra is my second weopon because it comes in handy against some bosses

Against Beowulf, I've found A&R the best - Aerial Cross easily hits him in the head and it does a ton of damage.

Continued my Bionic Commando Rearmed Super Hard file.
I managed to clear Area 1 after a few tries with an actual strategy to the attempts. So that's Area 5 and 1 down.
Area 4 is optional but also contains lots of enemies that one shot you, but the reward is worth it IIRC.
Area 2 might be worth a shot for the Grenades upgrade, but I don't remember what they did when upgraded. Don't remember the shotgun being too useful, plus I'm terrible at this boss.
Area 6, damn one hit kill barrels that are almost impossible to avoid. And this one's a required level. I remember the boss being a pain in the ass as well.
Edit: Just tried some attempts at the Area 2 boss. This thing is complete luckshit. The thing moves faster than you do, so if the operator moves it in the same direction long enough you can't avoid being hit. If he moves it in one direction long enough then rapidly switches directions twice, you pretty much get hit. Turning around and actually aiming the claw is nowhere near accurate on the controls. And you can only make one "mistake" otherwise you have to retry the fight.

Must have been a lot easier with 2 players. I'm playing it solo.
Cleared Areas 4, 6, and 3 earlier. On Area 8, I can get to the corridor part but haven't gotten past it yet. In Area 9, I almost got to the boss room.
Edit: Cleared Area 9, tried some more on the Area 2 boss. I'm going to need to get it down 3 times most likely just to beat it. I am going to hate the other version of it a lot more.
Edit 2: Upgraded Joe's Machine Gun = sweet revenge against the Area 2 boss. Also, the area 7 boss is a lot funner on Super Hard and very easily perfected if you know what you're doing.
Not sure whether I'll do Area 8 for the next armor piece or Area 10 for the increased health next.

God Hand. Finished stages 3-5 on Normal for the second time.
4,7 and 5 continues, respectively.
I've been hit for 50% HP with one hit...on normal.
Most continues were from entering a boss battle with almost no HP, going out of one with almost no HP or getting to Die rank for a bit too long so I eventually got my ass kicked :V

Cleared all 56 nonsecret challenge rooms in BC:Rearmed. I'm not even going to try the secret ones.
The only thing i have left to do in that game is the final area on Super Hard, but I suck at the final boss and haven't even managed to hit the thing in about 60 tries at the boss.
Edit: 20 more fucking lives lost at him. Yet another Albatross run to do later. I only hit the thing on 7 of those, and only one time on each just to mess up the rockets 3 times, get walled 3 times, and get lasered once.

That's right, certain character classes are restricted in which directions they can attack. Also, some characters can't move. Fencers and Knights, however, can move. I also believe that there's only one or two omnidirectional characters? I don't remember a whole lot, last I played it was early 2009, when JPN version was out.
Training makes the game nice and simple to deal with.

Yeah...Law Priestess/Chaos Warrior FTW. (I think. It's been a while. I need to finish it; I got up to Aquina, but never did finish.
EDIT: Also, IIRC Law Archers can stun, which makes them glorious. I don't like using Archers much, though. I stuck mostly with Warriors, Priestesses and Hermits.

Persona 4 was just so awesome. I got the true ending after beating a really annoying endboss and it was sad but sweet. Not as bittersweet as another persona's ending. :V But still a little sad.

One thing I found odd about P4: Kanji, the WHOA PHYSICAL and NO MAGIC character did almost the same amount of damage with Ziodyne as Yosuke's Garudyne...and he was only a little short of Yukiko's Agidyne, and she's the WHOA MAGIC POWERHOUSE. I mean, Ziodyne only did around 30-40 points less than Primal Force, even.

The only RPGs I've ever enjoyed are SMT, FF and AT ... yeah.
Finally got ME2. It performs TOO well on my 9400GT. Constant 50~60 fps at 800x600, everything else enabled.
Interrupting dialogue is fun. Battles are a little tedious, though.

Shelving Knights in the Nightmare for a while, I'm replaying through KH2 again, and skipping over all the cutscenes. I'm surprised how easy it is to grind Wisdom and Master via Timeless River - just as long as transformations take place outside the windows, there isn't even a chance for Anti Form to pop out.
Also, Assault of the Dreadnought Mission 3 can go burn, since I somehow missed one of the Heavy Cruiser blocks. If you're unfamiliar with the mission, it's basically the final boss of Gummi Ships. One-shot kill attacks, literally bullet hell (as some of it is undodgeable, even with a donut ship and high Mobility), and tons of HP.

I'm getting really 'effin tired of somehow missing one block, even after Berserking through everything.
Picked up Planet Puzzle League and Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier. It's strange to use the Gunstaff when you're so used to the Morph Gun, since only the Scatter Gun is where it used to be on the D-pad (EDIT: Or not, I guess I suck at using the D-pad?). Also, the camera cannot go vertical, which is pissing me off.

Like donut up there, Edgeworth is also in my current queue. Man, they're obsessive with the references to the other four games. Since I never pick up exclusively new games unless I reserve them first, Burnout Dominator is also on tap, since The Lost Frontier has been done three times over (why is the story so short?!). PC-side, I'm going through the GDI missions of Command and Conquer: Tiberian Sun again. It's amazing how differently the missions go if you actually follow the functions of anti-infantry, anti-tank, and anti-air rather than mass unit tanking. Nine Prism Tanks in RA2 still dominate everything on the ground, though. In addition, Conceptis has a new game type (http://www.conceptispuzzles.com), Sym-a-Pix, so that's been taking a lot of my time too.

Descent is an amazing game. After level 7 (where the shareware ends), each level is like a huge game of its own, a war between you and the nightmare fuelish robots. The game did something very interesting that I never noticed in my youth (or maybe it's just the source port lol): It balances out the fact that you can save scum by having enemies also be aware of you upon reloading. You can only surprise attack them once, after which they KNOW you are there, and WILL get you.
Stuff's more frightening than most horror games claim to be.

It's especially useful since I tend to get too much in the atmosphere of such games (even if RE5 isn't scary at all) and can hardly play them alone because I freak out at the smallest things >_<

Yeah, this is easily the best job any developer's done of actually making me want to PROTECT a character as opposed to stabbing them in the back the first chance I get. The whole NPC partner thing is something I usually loathe (I can't bring myself to buy RE5 because of what I've heard about the constant babysitting), but it's implemented really well here.
Shadow of the Colossus is in my backlog as well. Very glad I bought both of them when I had the chance.

Finished ICO. Biggest psychological impact a game's ever had on me in the 17-18 years I've been gaming.
I didn't realise how much it'd gotten to me until I unlocked the main gate, when I found I was actually leading Yorda across the bridge slowly to compensate for her injury. Then I jumped back across the bridge after the cutscene without even thinking about it. Then I stopped attacking the shadow creatures in the sacrifice chamber after I figured out what they were, and didn't return to killing them until I'd exhausted every other possibility in the room. And then the ending just... yeah...
I need to do something manly now. Shame there aren't any bears to wrestle in England.

Right now I'm doing Bioshock 2 on hard with no vita chambers. So far pretty easy. Only hard part I faced so far was fighting a Big Sister with no drill fuel which I resolved by finding drill fuel. Fun stuff.

And you get fully healed right after it. Just fire off your strongest attacks and then guard after getting scanned.
Shadow Teddie isn't that bad either. Just make sure to heal and only guard after the second charge-up; Nihil Hand is a free round of beatdown.

Normally, you would go for Normal, then immediately for Hard...here, you complete Normal twice...and Hard eats you for breakfast. The AI significantly improves and the enemies are much harder to knock around compared to Normal(and Easy, but I haven't played that)

Over Spring Break I went back to Kirby: Canvas Curse to get my 100%, so as to take care of any obsessive impulses in the future.
I only needed three medals, and I got them ^.^ but I wouldn't want to do any of them again.
*5-2 Medal 2 (aka let's make this a one-chance prize in the only place in the game you use Wheel and make it as hard as possible)
*Stone Course 2 Time Trial (aka let's make the bar as close to possible to the perfect time in a course themed around the worst of the game's controls)
*Cart Run Lv. 3 'A' Rank (aka even if you win you don't get the medal unless you risk your life to run over as many things as possible)
That was definitely a 100% Complete reward screen I was glad to see.

I've beaten Disgaea DS to almost perfection (Last thing I need to do is somehow beat Prinny Baal Lv9999 with no stealing and then I can say I'm done for real) but I can't get to Baal in Disgaea 2 because annoying slow grinding compared to the other games and everyone is on the PS3 so I can never play Disgaea 3, and everyone is on the other TV so I can't play Phantom Brave: We Meet Again...
So I whittle my time away playing Dragon Warrior Monsters (II, once I beat the first all the way). Nostalgia is so huggable~

Got Schizoid yesterday due to the sale that's on Xbox Live now.
Uberschizoid mode is crazy. I'm having trouble controlling 2 things at once, and I've only made it up to level 30 so far. I've gotten Golds on the first 28 stages. And there's 119 levels. Square Eggs(level 29) and Chess Eggs(level 30), I have no idea how to do either of these, and it's a huge wall since there's 7 levels between checkpoints.
I beat Mega Man 10 on Normal the day I got it. Did Blade Man's level on Protoman Easy Mr. Perfect yesterday, but haven't gotten through any others without getting hit, though I was able to get to a few bosses without getting hit.
Edit: Got past those levels in Uberschizoid mode. Now up to level 47.

I am terrible at Mega Man 10. Every stage so far on Hard was game over a lot so I can farm screws to buy E-tanks. I've gotten through 7 stages of Hard so far like this. I had to use multiple E-Tanks on every boss so far except Strike Man, which I ended up using a lot on his stage.
I'm probably going to have to farm for E-tanks and W-Tanks to make it through Commando Man's stage. And then the farming before entering Wily stages. I am not looking forward to that. Not only do I need to farm to buy stuff before entering, I'll need to farm before entering so that I can buy stuff while I'm there.

Yes, you just need to pick the correct options.
I was kind of disappointed at the hospital scene...
P4 actually made me care about the story unlike P3.
P3 told you in the beginning what happens in the next 10 months in advance with some character backstories. Then it tells you the rest of the game.

Finished Uncharted and Story Mode of BlazBlue.
Uncharted's last few levels were...unexpected. Now to wait till the sequel gets cheaper.
And BlazBlue is the first fighting game that makes me want to play the sequel for the story. Though with Europe's handling of games, the sequel won't be out till late 2011 I guess >_>

I actually S ranked that mission on hard mode on my second try (I ran out of ammo on my first try lol).
Instead, I'm having trouble with that one mission where you have to destroy several submarines while protecting an ice-breaker tanker. I build the fastest possible mech with my weapons being dual Moonlights. I destroy every submarine as soon as they emerge and I finish the mission ridiculously fast, with no AP or ammo cost. The tanker that I have to protect remains at full health too. But I always get a damn A instead of an S.

After 1 month of 120-150 hours of playing, encompassing over a thousand battles and level ups, tens of thousands of material drops, tens of millions of gold, 20 ultimate forged weapons spanning some 500 upgrades total and 8 complete conquests of China, I think I'm now done with my Dynasty Warriors fix.

First playthrough, I didn't fight Abyssion or the last two Sword Dancers or the Arena exhibition match, picked Zelos. Second one, i kicked Abyssion's ass but lost forever'd all of the Sword Dancer fights, beat the exhibition match, picked Kratos. This time, I'm going to kill all of the optional bosses and pick Zelos again. First two Sword Dancers taken care of.

Wth, Square Enix! If my party can dispose of every normal enemy in the chapter without major trouble, then a boss fight should be challenging, but not goddamn impossible.
And stop using Exaniga, damnit. I hate spending a minute of time staring at my party and waiting for them to be able to act again.
And I won't even talk about the death sentence at the end. That's like shooting someone who's falling from a building in the head just before he hits the ground, goddamnit >_>
Also, the official guidebook states the conditions for the activation of the death sentence blatanly wrong and gives a strategy for the boss that only works if it, you know, wouldn't attack! Good thing it was my uncle, not me who bought it...

I've gotten back to Infinite Undiscovery after not playing it for way too long. Got up to disc 2 a few days ago, but haven't continued yet cause I'm playing various shmups.
I originally had stopped playing it due to SO4 and SO4 sucks so much compared to this although still an okay game. Still need to finish Chaos mode on that. I'm on my first playthrough of IU, so it's on Normal.
Rico and Rucha are terrible though.

Rosa has the slightly unspecial Yoichi Bow + Artemis Arrow setup.
Two Protect Rings, three Ribbons, various wears made of Crystal, and Genji gear assorted among some three people.
Augments aligned for each character's type.
Edge's Speed will max out. Rydia's INT will max, Cecil's STR, Rosa's STR + SPR, and Kain's STR will max.
Almost every summon (missing Mindflayer, cockatrice, etc)
Defeated Bahamut in eight turns (His counter reached 2.)
Defeated Dark Bahamut in ten. Defeated the White Dragon in fifteen.
I'm levels 77C 76Ry 74K 76Ro 74E.
So tell me why this cheapass Thundaja can total party kill every three turns.

Beat DMC4. For posterity, I kept expecting Kyrie to call Nero "Jack." She even looks like Rosemary with her hair down ...
Also, real QUALITY Evil Plan there, guys:
Sanctus orders Credo to fight Nero, knowing full well he can't win. I could kinda understand the utility of getting rid of a Lawful-Goodie Two Shoes like Credo, except that "make two heroes fight each other" is a flagrant violation of the Evil Overlord List, and anyway they have this "What Is This Human Thing You Call Love?" thing going on and didn't seem the type to notice that his "purity" was a liability.
They arrange for Kyrie to walk into the room just as Nero is standing over her brother's newly-defeated body, thus making Nero look like the bad guy, and Angus helps this along by going "see, he's a demon!"
The minute Nero objects, he immediately kidnaps Kyrie and says Sanctus ordered him to do it, destroying any illusions about who the real villain here is to Credo and Kyrie.
Angus then laughs in the heroes' faces and leaves them to their own devices (another Evil Overlord List violation).
Sanctus reacts with surprise when Credo and Nero become angry and "betray the Order."

Rumbling Rose? What is special about that one?
Rumbling Rose has a weapon ability called "Finishing Plus" that allows you to unleash successive finishers in a combo. There's no natural way to get it without using the keyblade.
This is fairly unimpressive when you use it without any form due to the fact that Sora normally has only two ground finishers (Guard Break and Explosion) and one air finisher (Aerial Finish). However, if you use Rumbling Rose with Final Form, it tends to destroy a lot of stuff.
Valor Form does have some merits with Rumbling Rose with two ground finishers, two air finishers, a distance closing attack, the ability to use a finisher during a combo, and an attack after being knocked down, but the Combo Pluses will make it harder to get to the finishers in the first place.
Final Form, however, does not have to deal with that. In fact, if you also manage to have Fenrir in hand and a Negative Combo equipped, your second hit will probably be the finisher. There's joy in spamming Final Arcana to ram spinning keyblades into the enemy, Final Arts to launch them in the air with several dashes, and then Final Strike to hit them with dual flaring keyblades. You can also fire a bunch of Thunder if you don't have Berserk Charge set for even more chaos.

Red Dead Redemption and Lost Planet 2.
Lost Planet 2 got bad reviews, but holy crap this game is awesome. Half the complaints the critics made aren't even an issue. The "most annoying tedious part of the game" was one of the funnest moments with an incredibly tense atmosphere going on.
Red Dead Redemption... really well made game. A bit easy but wow is it fun...

1) The dungeons are extremely long and repetitive. Think FFXIII.
2) Battle skills. Direct attacks are just overpowered cinematics, everything else is a buff to support button mashing.
3) Item usage. Enemies are extremely overpowered, but so are healing items - they are cheap, plentiful and with infinite usage during battles. Expect to pause to throw potions often.
On the plus side, the story isn't that bad and the music is cool. You might like it if you like simple combat.
Star Ocean 3 was also often hated for the combat, yet I think it is one of the best PS2 RPGs.

Sephiroth is easy to AI loop or Reflect spam to death.
KH series got so boring for me that I'm way too lazy to even put it back in the case.
You attack with one button - 20 feet away from the enemy, press X and you instantly do an inhuman attack which closes you in with zero effort.
Mash X, Reflect some, win. And the fanboys. FFFFFFFFFF-
Not to mention the overhyped bosses.

So far, great game, but that was to be expected.
However, I need to listen better when people are explaining stuff to me. I had missed the fact that rockets in the air will aim towards the point you are marking with the scope. Needless to say, that made destroying the ships a little more difficult, seeing as I would usually fire a rocket and then immediately dive for cover. The strange behaviour of the rockets eventually clued me in, but by that time, I had already destroyed all but the last ship in "Sand Trap".

The easy leveling tip is using Gull Wing and turning on Experience Boost, going to Pride Lands, getting yourself to critical HP, then heading to the top of Simba's place and spamming Magnega.
It's simple, actually, fighting him under those conditions requires you not to get hit, is all.
As for drive leveling, I was leveling drives at the very end.
Valor Lv1, Wisdom Lv1, Master Lv1, Final Lv1.
Fulfilling the requirements to Lv7 all of those yielded at least 400,000 points.
My little sister beat the whole game at level 42 :D

So I finished a quasi-marathon of Suikoden V. First RPG I've played for ages and it was absolutely fucking brilliant. The game nailed everything I love about the series and was a wonderful return to form after the travesty of IV. Cast was generally excellent; Lyon in particular is easily one of my favourite RPG characters ever.
Thank the 108 stars I got the best ending (and even that nearly killed me inside).
A couple of obvious flaws (like Lyon not being in your party at all times) but the game was so compelling that they're easy to overlook.
No idea how I'm going to follow this up. Maybe I'll hold out until Galaxy 2 gets released here.

Just got Alien Breed: Impact on Steam. The two pack is a very nice deal.
I wish my friend would stop waltzing into my line of fire every time the enemies spawn. Seriously, I just wasted 24 shotgun rounds because they all went into his backside. Well, at least there's no friendly fire. Also, this game is pretty damn hard. The ammo pickups are so sparse and health items restore barely any health. The pistol may have infinite ammo, but it's pretty much useless against 90% of the enemies in the game.

You play Alice.
She has a bomb which can stop the time.
You fight Chen the grinning cat, Marisa Johnny Depp the Hat Maker and Hibachi the Heart Queen.
And this would've fit a lot better in the Addicted thread.
Most of the other games are really fun too, though. Just too bad you have to play so long to unlock new games T_T
And Bananamatic, yes, combat in Rouge Galaxy is starting to piss me off. And just because the AI of your party members is abysmal. No, it's beyond that. They should've just given you one character and it could be so much more entertaining to fight...
Oh well, still got Dragon Quest VIII and maybe that mini game with insects is going to be more fun...

Expect more corridors and angsty character development.
I haven't ground enough to max out everyone's Crystarium, because I don't have the patience.
A majority of the gametime stems from the amazing (-ly boring) preset encounters that take an assload of time to do. Apparently it's a great idea to give enemies thousands upon thousands of health and to let the player do about 20 to 30 damage until they fill up the 140% Stagger requirement, which, of course, takes forever.

And you can't say you didn't love the Gummi Ship sequences.
I saw an S+10 video of Assault of the Dreadnought, and it was freaking insane.

Well, shoot so that the rocket, if it actually went a straight line, will hit the ship if it continues it's movement like that. It will probably miss anyways, but I think I made at least one or two hits that way.
If you are under fire, dive for cover. If you are safe, look for where the dropship might be. Continue this until the rocket explodes, no mater where this will be. This will cause the rocket to move around the sky in an erratic pattern like a sattelite who downed a crate of Jack Daniel's. The majority of the rockets will miss or be shot down, but eventually some will hit.
While it will take way too long, you will take only little damage (unless the rocket hits the ground next to you, but that's what medkits are for) and you have infinite ammo anyways. BV

Actually, Super Mario Sunshine only needed 50, but whatever. >.> The fact that there are like 154 more stars to get is daunting, no doubt about it.
As for likes and dislikes?
Likes: It's a sequel to Super Mario Galaxy. I'm no Yahtzee; If a formula works and is fun, more of the same can be great (obvious that someone who's beaten all Touhous would have that opinion :V). It has the same fun gameplay as the first game, along with a few genuinely difficult bits of platforming.
Dislikes: It's hard to explain, but the game is somehow less charming than the first. It's more a gut feeling than anything. The bosses are also for the most part pathetic. I know it's a Mario game, but my god, Bowser somehow got even easier than he was in the first Mario Galaxy. Most of all, the comet medals. They're usually not hard to find, but having to go back through already completed stars to find the ones I missed is a real pain.

Most of the medals aren't hidden that well.~ Some are pretty close to being entirely on the beaten path.
As far as charming goes, I can understand where you're coming from. The idea behind the first SMG was "look what we can do with this engine!" whereas the idea behind this one is "we hope you enjoyed the warm-up game; here's the real thing".

Beat is going to take a lot of damage regardless, so that battle largely revolves around destroying Kariya as quickly as possible.
I think that's one of exactly two difficult battles in Final Time Attack because by that time you're cutting into your finite-use pins (healing). When you get them back from Konishi, they'll have all their uses back - just in time to face the REAL monster of the run, Kitaniji. Anguis or whoever it is after that inflicts landslides of damage if he hits you, but that fight is so strategically pathetic that you should be able to stay afloat just with auto-healing clothing and whatever healing pins you have left.

a near-perfect BN2 game that is short one bug frag (not including battle only stuff)
a legit perfect BN3-White game INCLUDING the stuff you can only get by connecting with Blue
a legit perfect BN4-Red game INCLUDING all secret chips
a near-perfect BN5-Proto game that is short one HP memory
a BN6-Falzar game that is stuck on the ultimate superboss, because his bullshit factor rose exponentially for this game. Doesn't help that I'm going in with a low-damage lockdown folder and only 860 HP. I just don't feel like grinding a completely new folder when this one has killed everything *else* without issue.
Attempts to find a physical copy of BN1 in my area have failed miserably. :(
Now, I'm off to go screw around with Galaxy 2 a bit.

The final bosses of both are bullcrap.

BN3 final isn't really that bad. Its attacks aren't that tough to figure out, so the only issue is keeping up the damage on it. With the amount of things BN3 gives you to break the game, this isn't that much of a problem.
BN5 final does have a bunch of dick moves though. The thing keeping that sane is the pattern it has to use to get off its attacks. Doesn't help that in 4 and 5 you can't even get any of the v2 or v3 chips until beating the final boss. Of course, once you do get them, then there's his upgraded forms to deal with.
Nothing compares to BN6 ultimate superboss in terms of bull, though. Seriously, a 250-hp-per-shot machine gun followed up by a 550-hp defense piercing area attack at Aya speed does not make for happy times.

Kitaniji is nothing in that fight. I can get through him without Neku taking a single hit. But SHIKI
COMPLETELY RIPS BEAT A NEW ONE at that high in the chain. On Hard, she was able to kill me in three combos, and even a 5-use healing pin wasn't enough to save me.

Last week has largely consisted of sleeping all day, cheap liquor, and Valkyria Chronicles. It might be one of my favorite games ever. I also rented Red Dead Redemption a couple of weeks ago, and found the plot, presentation, gun combat, and soundtrack all extremely enjoyable.

The game gives you more than enough good chips to beat him reliably with and Area Grab really screws him over.
I personally had more trouble when I hacked and fought 3 Gregar at once.
Anyways I started playing Wild Arms it looks alot like Golden Sun so I think i'll enjoy it alot.

Also, Zenonia still. It starts to kick your ass after a while because between really important story quests the levels for the monsters in new areas jump up a few and their stats jump up in the hundreds or thousands in HP.

Finally got Galaxy 2 a few days ago (hence the avatar). Currently on World 4, man this game is fun. Would definitely rank it above the original Galaxy. The soundtrack is kind of lacking though.

Well I'm only at World 4 and I've skipped over a couple levels out of laziness, so I haven't really heard the whole thing, but uh, it just doesn't seem that great from what I've heard so far on the grounds that none of the songs really stick in my mind (aside from the ones taken from other games). The music in the Bowser Jr. levels is pretty neat though I guess.

The theme for the timer-collection Speedy challenges continues to be my favorite.

I didn't really like the Spin Dig/Boulder Bowl theme that much. It's okay, just not really that memorable for me. Isn't it actually a remix of something from the original Galaxy? It sounds kinda familiar. Tbh I didn't like those galaxies much in general. Diggaleg was pretty fun though.

Currently doing the post 120 star stuff in Galaxy 2. I think the game's objectively better than 1, but the familiarity prevented it from 'wow-ing' me in the same way that the original did. Also seconding the preference for 1's soundtrack. It was more... awe-inspiring, where as 2's is decent and fitting but hasn't left much of an impression on me bar a couple of themes.

I'm told that one of the tracks was inspired by DK: Jungle Beat, but having not played that game I don't know which one. As it stands, I think it's the only VG track that has ever reminded me of Lucretia MacEvil.

Wound up buying a Wii along with FFCC: The Crystal Bearers, not a bad game, but learning the ropes is a little frustrating. Such is the risk when dealing with motion controls, though.
Getting to throw shit around with your powers, despite the issue of getting used to the controls, though, THAT is satisfying. :]

While grinding up the 9999 Star Bits I picked up 52 lives for The Ultimate Test. I was down to 5 when I beat it. I took so long the game didn't register my Clear Time. And most of it was stupid mistakes ;.;

Yeah, the Fluzzard galaxies themselves are actually rather well designed, but I find him/her/it an absolute bitch to control (relative to everything else in the game, at least).

The other good place to pick up lives and Star Bits is Twisting Turning Double Time. It's a Comet Star, but it overrated its difficulty so much that there are easy-to-pluck lives everywhere. If you DO die, you'll still be able to come out with more lives than you had and you'll be able to pick up the Star Bits again too.
Most of my deaths came because it was late at night and I decided to be smrt with forgetting how to do the first and third parts. Or stupidly running into hammers at the end. But being able to use Cloud Mario to bypass most of the fourth part was an absolute GODSEND, as was being able to skip the double rollers at the beginning of the fifth part. And I found the 1up behind Rosalina's house.
I'm replaying the game for time trials and I'm running into Luigi's ghost a lot. It's a fun extra to try and keep ahead of him (and it's not easy).

Phantom Brave must have the most orgasm-worthy music in history. Anything beyond that would probably just blow my mind.
Tenpei Sato, right? I didn't notice the music when I played Disgaea (kinda sad, I know), but the violin part of the first song in Prinny really caught my attention. I enjoyed most of the music in Prinny so I wouldn't be surprised if his other games are just as good in terms of the soundtrack.

I'll be attempting Persona 4 soon (as soon as my brother is done with the PS3). Its pretty odd how just because you like Final Fantasy a lot of people shovel stuff like P4 and Disgaea down your throat (real life friends recommends me games... shouldn't complain. :))
Other than that. I played Mega Man X3 today. First time i played i didn't realize how fun it was. I went ahead and defeated all the Maverick bosses as well as Bit and Byte no-damage, x-buster only. Truly a fun and challenging experience. (Even though those Blast Hornet bee's became quite annoying and Volt Catfish's sparks seemed luck-based)

You know, I really liked P4, more than 3. But I'm not that big an automatic SMT fan, and I liked it for blending so many elements together extremely well, especially character development. SMT tends towards hardcore RPGs, and they're not for everyone.

I borrowed P4 from a friend. I tried it once and wasn't pleased. Got to this boss and had crappy persona. Friend then tells me that i had to experiment to get the needed personas. As i didn't find it obvious how to get something that resists physical attacks i got kinda annoyed. Gimme whatever abilities i need. I'm never in the mood for a turn-based game to game over me because a boss decided to critical hit and kill the main character. They imported the same thing into FFXIII. Which was very boring. And very easy too. Unless you go for Cie'th missions. But screw those. Game wasn't fun to begin with.
And i pretty much threw my FF games down the trash can years ago. Final Fantasy's boring and challenges doesn't change that for me. Mainly because i have beaten all those games too many times.
To be fair to RPG's though, i do prefer titles that allows me to brute force it.

also for P4, there aren't many cheap deaths - if you are about to get killed by a single target attack, your party members block the attack for you(and they always survive it)
there is no "required" persona
it's just way too easy to reach the bosses at a much lower level, so just train and freely fuse stuff. it's not rocket science, just use common sense(when you have stuff like Wind Boost and Resist Elec, obviously try to pass them onto a wind elemental persona)

I never even got killed by Hama or Mudo spells in P4, which were definitely the most infuriating types of game overs in the series. P4 Expert is still way too easy though.
P3 Hard is annoying but doable. I'll do my first playthrough on P3 Portable on Hard just because. Maniac will be for the second run on it since I don't think you can do Vision Quest on the first run. Plus, you probably still have to wait for the second round to fight the optional boss anyway. Plus, I don't want to deal with the new difficulty's higher compendium than Hard, more damage than Hard, etc. on the first playthrough of the port.

P4 Expert seemed just right. No idea how easy is the Easy mode.

Beginner: 80% damage, 10 continues
Normal: 100% damage
Expert: 120% damage
The PSP port of the first Persona uses those as well, except there are no continues. But then I don't think it has the MC death= game over thing either, though I could be remembering wrong because I barely played the game because it sucked so much.

I bought that game when it came out in March and didn't finish it before last week. Which means that i ignored it for several months. The culprit being ch. 11
It was a chore to finish the game but at least the game is relatively easy. Its odd, i've been some fans of Persona complain that the game is too difficult and trial and error based. I wonder what that's about...

Well, failing blunt force trauma, the journey (no pun intended) itself is really good. So even if you know what's going to happen it won't really take much away from it. In fact knowing what happens makes that last stretch of the game more touching.

Hearts of Iron 3 is pretty fun. For a strategy nut like myself, this is the perfect game. Although being beaten around by Communist AND Nationalist China is kind irritating. Maybe I should stop being so aggressive and declaring war on all my neighbors. :derp:

Finally got around to playing P3:FES and finished it after a 90 hour'ish quasi-marathon. Fairly decent game overall, but the SLink system isn't really my thing and jesus christ AI party members are frustrating. I wasn't sure whether I was going to try the Answer, but I watched the start and some butterfly robot chick started beating people up and I can use her in my party and now I think I have to play it.

I gave up on Super Mario Galaxy again and started Baten Kaitos. I can't say much after only 25 minutes but the visuals are some of the best I've seen on a Gamecube, the soundtrack isn't bad - it's by the guy who did the soundtrack for Golden Sun so there's no way it could be bad - and the combat system is interesting.

Answer was stupidly luck based...I had Thunder Reign miss 7 times in a row once.
And yeah, the final boss is a complete pushover. The game ends after the last of the 3 fights :V

It's not -completely- unrelated or random. It has to do with the result of the arcana combination and the levels of the personas used... but for all intents and purposes, yeah, it still feels random. The exception is, of course, to fuse together persona of the same arcana (Two will result in a lower-grade persona, but if you fuse three, you should get the next one in line), and persona of the same arcana tend to have similar traits (Almost all Magician arcana personas favour fire, for instance)
Ultimately, just try out different combinations of stuff. Remember that persona can pass on skills to the things they're used to create - and if you don't get what you want, back up and reselect it and it'll change the results (It's random, although it favours certain skills for certain persona - like, wind-based skills are more likely to be passed on to wind persona. If something -doesn't- seem to be showing up don't freak out - Jack Frost is almost never going to get a fire-type skill passed onto it no matter how many times you shuffle).

Plan ahead. You don't need much more stuff than the appropriate element boost/amp and atleast one skill which covers your weakness.
Also, reduce noise on the stuff you are going to fuse. If you are fusing 3 skills on an ice persona, avoid ice skills on the ingredients like plague - they are going to constantly pop up and reduce the chances of all 3 wanted skill going to be passed on by a lot.
Or add junk - if you are fusing an ice persona, add some fire spells on the ingredients. They'll never pass on and your chances of getting the skills increase.
You can beat the game quite easily without advanced fusing, but try to atleast aim for the boosts/amps/resists.

Yeah, okay. I think i understand how that works. But i certainly think the game did a very poor job at explaining how to use the Persona fuse system. I actually kind of look forward to get to the game. I'm still hindered right now though as i need my brother to go on vacation so i can loot his PS3. (My PS2 is broken...)

My friend got me to start playing DFO (Dungeon Fighter Online), basically a Beat-Em-Up MMO. Man, I haven't played any MMOs in awhile, mostly because I don't want to play any lolgrind mmo, which is practically all of them.
Its kinda like a 2d, dumbed down version of Lunia, with practically no healing; there's a much bigger emphasis on learning how to fight the stage's enemies/bosses without getting hurt much. That's a good thing, mind you, although sometimes frustrating because you don't want to use those uncommon HP potions but oh god you need it and kaldsh;fa;lskdfjads;.
I liked Lunia better, but Lunia isn't anywhere as good as it used to be, so oh well. Stupid Myth stages ruining the fun ): Well, as far as MMOs go, DFO isn't bad. And I get to be a witch and smack things with my broom so whee x3

Just beat Serious Sam HD: First Encounter.
Ugh Zan III? More like... Ugh ugh ugh. I hate it when walkthroughs lie about how to do things. It told me that his health would be an indication of when I would be able to run away, but reading up on a speedrun tells me it's a countdown based on when you reach the foot of the pyramid. Oh well, that was still quite a worthy end to the game.

Started playing Strange Journey again. Remembered why I quit, Erindanus is quite possibly the most annoying dungeon ever.

Playing Sakura Wars V for the second time, this time going after Rosita. To my surprise, the character whose ending is hardest to unlock,
Ratchet
, is currently at the top of my list. If that keeps up, I might be willing to backtrack and go through the last two chapters twice in order to nab her ending too.

Nina Williams : A somewhat high tier fighter of the Tekken fighter series. Had a spin off series nobody can remember. Wears purple.
Has blond hair. Walking boobs. I could think of so many other tekken characters that were more deserving of a spin off.
Shame Jill became an American Stereotype.

Replaying Super Mario Galaxy 1, just finished Mario's half. My batteries had been dying for the past 40+ stars, but they lasted.
This game is still better than its sequel.

Up to chapter 5 in Sakura Wars. Working to get Ratchet's ending is so nervewracking. Even getting all her right answers (though I messed up a few points early on in the game), she's the only character with no character-specific chapter, so if I'm too nice to everyone, she may be overtaken. She needs to be at least third place in trust... That's the worst thing too; unlike all the other girls, Ratchet's ranking doesn't show up at intermissions, so it's impossible to know how much she likes you until it's time to choose...

Finally finished HL2. I thought before starting to battle one alien invasion, I should properly finish the other one. Although I still need to play episode 1 and 2.
It was a great game, even though it wasn't really that challenging. Well, except for certain jumping parts and one or two puzzles that took me way longer than they should have.

My save for Persona 4 just got corrupted, so I have to look for something else.
I'm thinking of playing Need For Speed: Most Wanted, just for those amazing cutscenes.
