Title: Happy New Year in 8 hours or less (or more)

HAPPY NEW YEAR

 :dragonforce:

I just thought I should do a pre-emptive topic, because by tonight, there will be the Battle of Thermopylae at my nearest 'rave' spot where a rave party to countdown will be happening.

There will be fireworks, but not before a couple of teenagers get arrested for battery, assaulting an police officer, and such things.

Me? I will be on the roof, sipping champagne on a lounge chair above the busiest streets of the world, staring down and go "Hai.... such violence, human beings do not desert to live, I should become a furry."  :V

So what would you be doing on New Years?

playing video games, watching the america's funniest home videos marathon on ABC family, suddenly remembering that holy shit it's new years eve, playing more video games

I am a goddamn party animal  :dragonforce:

The parents usually get drunk, the kids do Apotheosis does, and I sit around like a lump as usual. Except this year, I'm not going to wear a shirt for the whole day.

Gonna have a nice evening playing non-video-games with friends and then watch the official fireworks in the city. All the while hoping not to get hit by fireworks some drunk idiots are firing at people...

Edit: Oh right, I forgot:

I wish eveyone here a Happy New Year once it happens in your timezones. ~Gesundes Neues Jahr~

In keeping with my tradition of not doing anything appropriate for the occasion, I shall be marathoning Escaflowne.  Whee~

Happy New Year, everyone!  Hope it's a good one for all of you~

Calming my dog because she will go batshit crazy because of the fireworks, feeding her calming pills, keeping her safe from the stairs so she doesn't fall of, posting on CPMC.

Repeat.

My parents will watch TV. Eventually I will watch too, as they're re-airing "Altrimenti ci arrabbiamo", one of my most favorite Bud Spencer and Terence Hill movie. Also, I'll try to beat EoSD Extra today.

Depending on how much more snow we get, possibly nothing.  Family is having New Years here at least.  Dunno if I want to spend the effort to goto my friend's apartment.

Still 14 hours or so to go.

Happy New Year everyone. I'm watching the fireworks display in Australia (it's already 00:17 for them) and, wow, ZUN would be proud! So much danmaku and pretty colours patterns! I wonder if an angry red and white miko and an ordinary black and white magician are fighting up there.

3 hours left! Minus the time I spent to post this! xD

Eh, I'd probably spend the rest of the hours here while uploading/sending our new year pics.
ElderSisters exhausted so went to sleep, grandfather and mom watching TV, YoungerSisters probably drawing new year-themed fanarts inside their room...

Ohp! Blue Moon, by the way! xD
News tells us Europe and later countries would experience it today (not like one could see an actual "blue" moon, anyway), and Asian countries on January 29. (didn't say from which timezone it would start, so...)
Further news, seeing through volcanic ash would make the moon look blue, though.

Errr... the moon isn't actually blue, it's just an expression to mean two full moons in one month.

"Once in a blue moon"

Should've stressed the one about a blue moon not being an "actually blue" moon then >.<

Anyways, MANIGONG BAGONG TAON!! or HAPPY NEW YEAR!! in the Philippines and fellow GMT+0800ers! XD

Instead of playing Bomberman Saturn, YoungerSisters are playing Chocobo Racing and fighting off Squall in the Grand Prix at a not-so-deafening volume xD

I'll be here trying to stay away from my annoying brother.
If any of the friends show up in the neighborhood(kinda likely conseidering the whole city fills copacabana on new year's eve) and I find them I'll go party with them. If not I'll be here playing RB2 alone and posting. Will watch 16 tons of danmaku fireworks then return.

Nine hours, I think. :I

I'm going to snuggle Alice, eat Munchos, and do internets.

I have a full, meaningful life, you know.

Oh whoa, I forgot about fireworks for a second there. D: Oh well, my sister and her friend will be stomping and screaming, so there wouldn't be much of a change. Hopefully someone will call me back and I won't have to go insane from children screaming and running around. >:

EDIT: Maybe I can move the PS3 in mom's room and play Fallout 3 in there. I need a good RPG. :/

No, actually, as you are not one of the Future-Dwelling Overlords, so you do not get to make such rules~

HAPPY NEW YEAR, CENTRAL STANDARD TIME!!

One hour left over here with UD \o/

I can't be at my computer at midnight. :<

But it's not quite 1 AM, so I think I'm still allowed to say Happy New Year to my friends~<3

Happy New Years to Mountain Standard Time: To me and UD! \o/

Man, I entered this decade at the age of 8, I leave it now at 18. So much stuff has happened, and I'm so very grateful to have come here to this Touhou community and met all you wonderful people. You've all blessed me in some way or another, and I would not have had it any other way. I love you all.

IT'S 2010, GUYS! STAY AWESOME!

7:09 AM here. I just returned home from staying over a rock talking and watching the night and watching the sunrise with some (female) friends I found in the street.

What was determined to be a stupid boring night suddenly became so so so awesome.
And now I wanna date Clara. And I also know I can.

I had probably one of the worst New Years i've ever had. Sadly enough, this didn't even involve alcohol either (ended up being pretty much sober most of the night.)

I'm going to scrap this attempt and pretend the real new years is a couple days from now or something.

There is now

I think I would have had a much better night if I hadn't missed this. D: I'm touched.

New Years Eve: No alcohol, but all you can eat sushi buffet (that closed the buffet at NINE-THIRTY WHAT THE HELL and closed for real at 10pm) and Rock Band where MJP totally pulled a Krauser  :dragonforce:

I will be more than making up for my sober ways on my (terribly belated) honeymoon we leave for on Sunday  :V

Decade's not over~

By that logic, 2000 wasn't the beginning of the millennium :V

Right, because centuries and millennia are referred in an ordinal manner. Decades, however, aren't. Decades are just referred as spans of 10 years, traditionally named after their tens. So you can argue that we are in the 200th decade instead of the 201th, if you actually care about numbering decades, but we are indisputably in the '10s already.

Is this why people drink on New Years? So they don't have to, you know, think about this?

Ew. Now that is a justifiably "bad" New Year's. Get well soon!

Unless it was alcohol, in which case just drink plenty of water.

Speaking of water, New Years began with me getting rained on.

Spent my New Year's hanging with a homie, playin' Iji and eating thick crust heart attack induding pizza. Good times.

Then I woke up two hours after I went to bed with a splitting headache. =[

Somehow my city was the only one on the coast of the state who didn't flood and collapse everywhere due to excessive rain.
It didn't even rain much here. And didn't rain on new year's eve.
My dad is stuck in another city because all the roads were either destroyed or are in critical situation.

*pays offerings to Hakurei Shrine for everyone's good health and, for the already affected, fast recovery...*
EDIT:...actually, I'm feeling weak right now, too =_=. I must have spun too much cobwebs drained all bad luck from cleaning windows for heresay good fortunes from it.

I had (a little) alcohol in our office's New Year party, but that was like two days before new year. I'll never get used to The Bar.
Dang, it tastes so awful +.+
Had a light-beer drinking 6hrs before the end of 2009. 2009 is my introductory year or something to beer :V

... Whew, 12hours before going back to departing from the province early 5AM and travel for like an hour & a half for OJT. But New Year's day or something just passed >.<
... Eh, can't complain.
