Author Topic: Touhou as a horrible american saturday morning cartoon show  (Read 33176 times)

It'd be something like Darkstalkers, with the good  Touhous and the bad Touhous, ignoring completely the moral ambiguity and general efforts to make everyone get along after each subsequent game. Also, they'd have to be referred to by name as "The Touhous" constantly.

The heroes would be the hardworking asian Shrine Maiden Reimu, her nerdy otaku brother Rinnosuke, the friendly ghost Mima and the honest magician Marisa(who's last name is never mentioned, is never called a witch, now wears a Fedora and has a southern accent). Though the real main character would be the amazing DAVID, a random teenager from our world.

They fight against the residents of the evil Scarlet Danger Mansion and the puppetmistress, Alice, who hates men. Patchouli is now a mad scientist developing infernal machines for Remilia. Sakuya is now called Sally the Deadly Maid. Cirno is german and makes terrible puns about freezing things.

I'd watch it.

Then after each episode I'd post rants on this forum on about how annoying DAVID was in this weeks episode.

Marisa and Alice are next door neighbors in a suburban American street. Alice is the brainy, nerdy, shy type and Marisa is a fun-loving tomboy. Together, they get into all sorts of zany misadventures, and learn a little something about life along the way - yes, EVERY episode ends with a moral.

SAMPLE EPISODE: Marisa drags Alice along to break into the house of the crazy lady down the street, Kaguya, just to see what it looks like. Alice says, "Marisa, this is wrong! It violates privacy!" but Marisa smirks and says, "Ah, don't be so stuck up. C'mon, it'll be fun, ze~". But just when they're playing dress-up with Kaguya's clothes, she comes home! Oh no! They hide in the closet, but Kaguya soon discovers them. So she makes the girls do chores around her house - dusting, washing windows and such, while a song by the Jonas Brothers plays. Then they find an old photo album. "Huh?" says Marisa "That old lady used to be really pretty." Kaguya comes in, smiling. "Ah, memories. That's me holding up the American flag that was planted on the moon." Alice and Marisa gasp with wonder, and listen with rapt attention to all of Kaguya's amazing stories. At the end of the day, they're great friends. Marisa and Alice walk home. "You know, that ol' lady isn't so bad after all, ze~" says Marisa. Alice agrees: "Yes. We were wrong to mock her. It just goes to show - you can't judge a book by it's cover." And they skip and hold hands as they laugh all the way home.

"Human history and growth are both linked closely to strife. Without conflict, humanity would have no impetus for growth. When humans are satisfied with their present condition, they may as well give up on life."

I bet ZUN would hang himself if that ever was to happen,

I'm going to use this thread for the Touhou anime series I created:

Episode 1:
"Yukari accidentally opens up a border to America, and Marisa tries to steal the Declaration of Independance! But not even a Master Spark can beat the FBI Sign 「National Security」! Now, Marisa's doing time, and it's up to Reimu and crew to save the day before Marisa's new cellmate steals her precious thing!"

Episode 2:
"Reimu's gotten herself in an interesting predicament: The festival is coming up, and she's turned herself into a tree! Will she be able to free herself from her wooden prison, or will she become the festival's main attraction and the laughing stock of Gensokyo? But what's this? It's Suika to the rescue! ...Or is it?"

Episode 3:
"Cirno's at it again! While on her daily freezing run, she comes across a very strange looking frog. Little does she know that it's actually poor Reisen, who drank one of Eirin's experimental potions by mistake! Now, Tewi's on the trail, and she's got to find her rabbit companion before little Reisen gets the cold shoulder!"

Episode 4:
"Looks like not even the Ghost Team can be spared from the crazy hijinks! While on a flower-viewing tour that brought them past the Scarlet Devil Mansion, Yuyuko's hunger catches up with her, and she sneaks her way into the mansion for a secret snacking session! Unfortunately, she caught Sakuya and her maid squad right in the middle of spring cleaning! Now, Yuyuko's been sucked into a vacuum cleaner! With this ghost busted, who's she gonna call?! Hopefully, for her sake, Sakuya and her team of maids will ROOM CLEANING STOP!"

Episode 5:
"Shikieki's on vacation this week, and while the judge is away, the boatgirl will play! Komachi decides to be extra-lazy while her master's away, and in a freak accident, she wrecks her boat! Now, the souls of the dead are growing restless, and unfortunately for Komachi, Aya's about to report it to all of Gensokyo! It's up to Komachi to put her lazy ways aside and work at 110% to fix everything before her master comes home!"

Episode 6:
"As the sun sets on the Forest of Magic, Alice has her hands tied with all her work... literally! Shanghai and Hourai have played a terrible trick on her, and now, she's bound with marionette string, and it looks like the dual doll deviants have invited an unwelcome guest! Looks like Alice is in trouble, and if she doesn't think fast, she's bound to run into even more trouble!"

Episode 7:
"The festival has arrived, and there's a Gensokyo-wide contest that might just put one of the girls in danger! A bug-catching contest has been announced, and Chen knows exactly where to go! Rather than following the proper list, she decides there are bigger fish to fry! Uh-oh! Can our nightbug friend wriggle her way out of this one?"

Episode 8:
"It's time for the annual Gensokyo Karaoke Contest! Everyone's lined up for the big event, ready to sing their hearts out to win the grand prize: one wish that will be granted no matter what! And no one wants to win that prize more than Mystia, who sadly has placed dead last every year! But she's got a trick up her sleeve this time! Will Mystia woo the crowd with her musical lore or lie in rhapsodical defeat as her dreams flutter away?"

Episode 9:
"While thumbing through a pile of books, Patchouli stumbles upon a cookbook! Bored with her current routine, Patchouli decides to try her hand at baking! With the help of her assistant Koakuma, Patchy sets out to show that it truly is a piece of cake to bake a pretty cake! However, she's never done this before... so disaster is just around the corner! No matter! She's out to prove that Knowledge really is power!"

Episode 10:
"It's the obligatory hot springs episode! Romance and fanservice collide as Alice and Marisa have a chance encounter at the Eientei Onsen! Will Alice be able to overcome her fears and finally take Marisa for her own, or will the wicked witch Marisa have a blonde moment and be totally clueless?"

Episode 11:
"An ominous cloud of despair begins to hover high above Gensokyo as an old enemy returns to bring chaos to the 'peaceful' land. Reimu senses the evil presence and knows that it can only be one person: Mima! Now, Reimu and her friends must team up to do battle with the dark ghost of the Hakurei Shrine, who now has a powerful and unlikely ally! The time for extermination is at hand, and it's up to the golden girls of Gensokyo to fight this flagitious foe and finish this phantom forever!"

Episode 12:
"Yukari has just made a global announcement: The first-ever Gensokyo World Fighting Championship Tournament is here, and the announcement has the girls training hard to be number one! Rivalry is at an all-time high as each girl aims for the top spot and the grand prize: one billion yen! That's a heck of a donation, and Reimu wants it all for *her* donation box! She'd even go as far as a little sabotage! Will Reimu get away with her cheating ways? Not if Marisa has anything to say about it!"

Episode 13:
"Mokou has just become the host of the popular game show 'The Gensokyo Apprentice', and eight of Gensokyo's most qualified girls are on the cast! One of those girls, however, is going to have it the hardest, as not only will she have to fight against her seven opponents but against Mokou herself! Can the moon princess Kaguya overcome her trials and best Mokou at her own game? Mokou has plans for Kaguya, though, and if all goes just as planned, she'll get to say those two burning words: you're fired. Good luck, Kaguya! Don't lose hope!"

Episode 14:
"It's the season finale of the Touhou anime series! Flandre has awoken from her deep slumber and wants a big breakfast, only to find out that all of Gensokyo is mysteriously out of cereal! Now, it's a race against time to provide Flandre with a hearty, balanced breakfast before she loses her temper and takes it out on the world! Sakuya's doing her best to buy enough time, but her energy is wearing thin! Can the girls of Gensokyo make Flandre the breakfast that she so desires, or will their attempts bear no fruit and doom the world to the anger of a cranky, all-powerful vampire? There is but one last thread of hope, and the girls are holding on tight!"

Someone needs to write a script for one of these episodes. Then send it to 4Kids and see if it snowballs from there.
Admit it, this would end up being the sort of show you'd like but would never tell anyone about for shame.

Yeah I think it would end up falling under the category of being so horribly bad that you couldn't help but watch it thanks to 4kids.

But seriously, I feel sorry for kids today. Back when I was a kid I got to watch awesome shows like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers.

- the animated series must have duality, so it's humans vs. youkai. Yukari being one of their leaders and among the main villains.
- Marisa's Master Spark equals Ryu's Hadouken (see 4:21 till the end of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZEKYEe09NQ )
- Reimu will use her PC-98 outfit (and Sanae will also use similar clothes, should she appear as an ally; normal clothes if she's to appear as an enemy), because armpits.
- even if lots of houses in the human village are destroyed, by the next episode, they won't remain like that (except in the case of multi-episodes).

Don't forget the season special where Tenshi, Iku,
and Suika come down from the sky in a giant Robot Suika
that runs on magic elixir to capture all the yukkuri of Gensokyo
to Give to their "Boss," but find their plan ruined and flying into
the air by a single Spark based yukkuri.
