You're welcome! Any thoughts on any beer in particular?
I have not! I have not had a lot of time to play around with the lock, but I learned a lot about how a lock works because of the clear lock.
If you're further interested in a good yt channel which also discusses some things, check out bosnianbill. Lots of videos and things.

Cheers~

Really glad that you enjoyed it. I was initially panicked because of your geographical location, as you may have gotten your hands on the majority of artbooks already.

So I sent books that can only be specifically bought/found outside Japan* , to hopefully reduce chances of double gifting.

I'm happy that it all worked out in the end~

*I may have forgotten that most of the books were in Chinese. Woopsies.

ababABABAH had to settle comiket stuff sorry sorry

so i got my package sent early to vyrien's house and couldn't actually open it on christmas lol
but

watercolour like i asked for SWEET
also some brushes...how did my SS know almost all my brushes are dead
i recently started dabbling into traditional drawing and its great to use something better than
those cheap $10 dry palettes

hold on do those brushes say Van Gogh on them
Does that mean I'll be able to draw a The Starry Night with th-
here goes noth--

....okay so the mona lisa didn't come out but the colours were pretty good!
There was a very convenient skin tone colour in the selection that fixed my issue of having to manually mix yellow/white/orange with my old set...

I don't know who my Secret Santa is (vyrien says she knows psh) but thanks a lot for the equipment upgrade!!

I finished Kidou Tenshi Angelic Layer (correction: it was 5 discs)!

It felt force-fed at the start but heartstrings were pulled. You don't often come across a show like this anymore.

My international shipping story: I was shipping to Japan so I just bought on Amazon Japan and it arrived like 12 hours later and shipping was free. :V

(I mean I already shop on Amazon Japan somewhat regularly they just only ship internationally, i.e. to me, for media mail type stuff and shipping is... rather more. :V)

I was brutally murdered by shipping costs because I missed Santa's note about just the customs number being enough.

Also Drake managed to guess it was me despite not actually seeing that poster at my booth, it was a commission.  Maybe it's the style of artists I hire?  Or maybe that it's the same dimensions as a Danmaku!! poster because I had the template lying around?

I typo'ed y own address; so my package went to #1 not #2.

When I realised this it was back at the werehouse. They fixed the address and put it for re-sending.

Except it fell off the elevator and wasn't noticed until I rung to query it again and the same phoneperson went and checked remembering saying to me when it was due

I spend about an hour at the post office waiting to send my gift, because a couple in front of the queue decided now was a great time to go totally beserk and scream abuse at the post office staff, and then the staff got fed up with it and started yelling at them back, then the crowd joined in because they were fed up with waiting, then eventually security showed up and tried to drag the couple away, but they came back to do more yelling.

I was pretty shaken up by this so when I finally got to the counter and filled in the form, I forgot to tick 'gift' and then spent the rest of the day worrying my SS would have to pay import tax. Luckily I *cough* undervalued the items *cough* so it wasn't a problem.

The post office manager looked like he wanted to die.

Paying for tracking cost more than the postage itself.

Cost were okish, for 2kg of packet, I didn't expect less. Wasn't as expensive as last years delivery to JP, though.
(also I choose to deliver via ship instead of air cargo  :derp:, saved me 30? extra, and still arrived on 23th :V)

Wasn't any different from my usual routine, except instead of being paid in cash, I was paid in cheer and goodwill.

I decided to muddle through Amazon.fr to send my package (fun trying to figure out how to send packages in a language you don't know) so I'd save a ton of money on postage, which was why I was confused when the package came from California.

Glad you liked it. I like to try and find anime others haven't seen but were pretty good. I was torn between what would have been the best match based on your MAL; Angelic Layer, A Little Snow Fairy Sugar or maybe Slayers. Angelic Layer felt the closest of the three. :)

I had to deal with the post office lady deciding I couldn't speak Japanese (GAIJIN RIGHT) then trying to ask me about the contents in broken English (English EMS form so I wrote the contents in English) whilst I continued to speak Japanese because she couldn't understand my English explanation. She wasn't listening and was panicking then got her 'Hi my name is xxxxxx i can speak English' colleague with whom I had a pleasant conversation in Japanese (including but not limited to the contents of the package) with the original colleague listening in and looking very embarrassed. By the time I'd finished it had taken about an hour and the post office was past closing time, luckily they still took the parcels.

This is a recurring thing I've found, people just do not want to believe I can speak Japanese here lol

apart from one lady in melonbooks who gave me a bunch of free stickers because EEEEEEEEEEH? NIHONGO DEKIRU??? BIKKURISHIMASHITAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA

My shipping story: Costed me money. I found the recording of movies quite fun to be honest.

Also highly suspicious of Vic Viper rigging the pairing system to roll me as SS. I am not quite sure what he did to Reimu in order to make her HAXOR the list. Probably was one hell of a donation.

Wait, so while you actually were speaking in Japanese, she refused to speak back in Japanese and kept putting up English!? Why?

apart from one lady in melonbooks who gave me a bunch of free stickers because EEEEEEEEEEH? NIHONGO DEKIRU??? BIKKURISHIMASHITAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA
Confirming reactions/startle from natives is funny when you're obvious-gaijin-as-***** and respond to them in Japanese.
  • Enter elevator with a couple > ask what floor they desire > BIKKURIIIIIII
  • Hold the door open at some mountain cafe for pair of ladies, receive 'arigatou' as default answer > respond back with JP 'you're welcome' > BIKKURIIIIIII
  • Walk around in Kamakura watching the statue, quad of female students suddenly say 'Herro *wave' > respond with JP 'Domo' > BIKKURIIIIII

The responses always take a certain pattern. First they are logically surprised. Followed by usually the phrase: "You speak Japanese!?" Eventually asking: "Where / why did you learn Japanese"

Edit:
in melonbooks
I bet you were in the Adult version of Melong Books on the main street :V
