>How good's our throwing arm? We still have all of our school stuff, right?

>No better or worse than other human girls your age. You might be able to bean the stranger from here, given what you have on hand, which does still include all your school pariphenalia.

>Have we ever been in a fight?

>You have never been in a physical altercation in your life, unless you count a pillow fight with your fellow Moonsiders.

>Whip out a book, lob it upward a bit so it sails over Kyouko. In particular, try to bonk the stranger on the head.
>Don't wait to see if it connects, charge right in after it and go around Kyouko. Give her two things to worry about at once.
>Has Principal Unzan made wrestling a mandatory class? =D?

>Has Principal Unzan made wrestling a mandatory class? =D?
>If not, should we give him this idea?

>Mandatory, no. Strongly encouraged, yes. That was the best he could do without Mima dragon suplexing him repeatedly.

>Whip out a book, lob it upward a bit so it sails over Kyouko. In particular, try to bonk the stranger on the head.
>Don't wait to see if it connects, charge right in after it and go around Kyouko. Give her two things to worry about at once.

>You produce one of your textbooks and huck it in the direction of the stranger, over poor Kyouko's head. You also notice that her yelling has ceased, and she seems fairly limp. You hear Rin draw in a sharp breath, but she says nothing. She does however charge forward as well, going around Kyouko on the other side you're going. Your aim is very good, and the book is angling in for a shoulder shot, before the thing reaches up with her free hand and plucks it from the air. She looks at it curiously, seemingly taking no notice of either you or Rin.

>Would he enjoy this

>Knowing him, you wouldn't rule it out.

>Do we know how much fighting Rin's seen?

>It hasn't come up directly. Given that she was owned by an Oni family for years, you suspect she's had a few fights, at least, but she's never discussed them with you.

>Close in, and swing our bag at her chest. Hopefully knocking the wind out of her will prevent further castings.

>You close the gap between you and the yellow-skinned woman, avoiding touching the greenish cloud linking her to Kyouko, and swing your back at her chest with all your might. The improvised weapon strikes home, but the woman doesn't even flinch. She merely turns her eyes upon you, and looking at those yellow pinpricks is a frightening moment. "Why?" she rasps, her voice somehow seeming to echo upon itself.

>Does it feel like hitting flesh?

>She had about as much give to her as the side of a building, which is about what hitting her felt like as well.

>"Leave her alone!"

>The woman drops your book, then narrows her eyes at you. She seems to be considering something, then her pupils dissapear and reappear in the blink of an eye. The greenish mist tethering her to Kyouko vanishes into her hand, and the young youkai collapses in a heap. The ring around her chest dissolves into thin air. Rin, you notice, has circled around behing the stranger, seemingly ready to pounce.

>In a calm, but firm tone. "What were you doing to her?"
>If she does something weird with her hands that gives up a bad feeling, swat them with our bag.

>"Only what she- what she- what she-" The stranger stammers like a broken record, then her head snaps suddenly to one side, with an audible sound of crackling muscle. It's a sickening scene. When her head rightens, she pulls her lips back in a sneering expression, her mouth full of misshapen teeth, yellowed serrated things. "What I must...." she rasps, raising her left hand slowly. Given everything else that's happened, this gives you a very bad feeling, so you take another swing at that arm. Again you connect, but this has no more obvious effect than the first one did. A small ring of gold materializes around her hand, but she doesn't get a chance to do anything with it before you hear Rin scream, "Don't you touch her!" and launch herself at the stranger. She crashes into the back of the stranger, grabging her about the head, which draws a startled cry from her and makes the ring vanish.

>"Stop it now!"

>You grab ahold of the yellow-skinned woman's right arm as she flails about, trying to dislodge the feline youkai on her back. Her 'skin' is cold to the touch, and feels metallic, somehow, like somebody coated flesh with a metal sheet and let it cool. You Rin calling to you, "You get out of here, Byakuren! I can hold her, you run!"

>Would we be able to carry Kyouko at any useful speed?

>Kyouko is rather light, and wouldn't encumber you too much if you were to carry her. That said, however, you have no way of knowing how fast the stranger herself can move, so determing what is a 'useful' speed in this situation would be problematic.

>You can, and do so. When the woman hears your question, her eyes seem to change color, to a light yellow, but only for a moment. She ceases her efforts to dislodge Rin, and lowers both her arms. Her face doesn't change, but you swear you can hear something approaching sadness in her voice when she answers, "Nothing. Nobody. Anymore. Wouldn't have me- Had no use..."

>Keep a firm hold, but don't apply any more force than needs be.
>"Had no use for what?"

>Maintaining your grip on the metal-feeling arm, you inquire about her odd statements. "Byakuren, I don't think that's-" Rin starts to say, but the stranger snaps her neck again, twice as loud as the last time. You think this must be what it's like when steel girders snap. "Can't stop-Mustn't stop.... WON'T BE FORGOTTEN AGAIN!" She roars, the sound stunning you for a second, and she swings the arm you're attached to in a violent arc. Your grip isn't strong enough to overcome the massive force exerted upon you, and you find yourself flying backwards towards the side of the school at an amazing speed.
>The next thing you know, you find your backside on the ground, your back against something solid. There's a dull ringing in your ears, your vision is blurred, and you have what feels like a terrible headache in your entire body.

>If we can think straight and speak straight, cry out, "I remember you!"

>Your head is swimming in a way you've never felt before. You try to yell something to the stranger, but your voice sounds strange to your own ears. Your vision is dancing with stars, but you think you see that greenish glow again, away in the distance. You think you can hear someone calling to you, but they sound so very far away.

>Breath, try to set aside any pain for now. Then call out again. More loudly this time.

>You take a deep breath to try and steady yourself. This is not an easy task, given the force of the impact you sustained, but you manage to clear at least some of the cobwebs from your head, and a handful of stars vanish from your vision. You think you can see the yellow-skinned stranger some distance away, and there is definately another one of those green clouds present, much closer to her this time. You call out to her again, in as loud a voice as you can manage. A pair of voices answer you, one bizzare and grating, the other strained and weak.

>The answer that comes to you is neither one of the two voices you heard previously, but a third. This one light, and friendly. Strangely, it seems to almost speak into your mind, rather than your ears, which might actually be better, until your ears stop ringing.
