Freeze something in GFW close to the boss... The shadow is larger.(probably because of the field of distortion around the boss) This kinda got me thinking, what if what we're seeing in the games isn't a birds-eye view, but angled upwards into the sky?

I think it's quite intentional that Zun chose "Bell of Avici ~Infinite Hell~" and "Tomorrow will be Special, Yesterday was not" for his latest music album. The album seems show support for the recovery of Japan and "Infinite Hell" might refer to the hell that Japan went through during the earthquake and "Tomorrow will be Special, Yesterday was not" represents the bright tomorrow Japan will be looking forward to. What do you think? :V

How about Yuyuko and her Resurrection Butterfly?
But Meiling is still the only one who actually gives point items (sort of indirectly) in a nonspell.

First of all, it's "Infinite Nightmare". Avici is the deepest level of Buddhist hell though.
Second, the original title of Tomorrow will be Special is "明日ハレの日、ケの昨日". Here "special" is ハレ(hare) and "not" is ケ(ke). These two descriptors are Shinto (and ultimately religious) concepts; hare signifying a out-of-the-ordinary thing (or day), one that something sacred or festive happens. Ke is a thing/day that is ordinary, mundane or profane/unreligious; though not necessarily bad. The translation is accurate enough, but in english it lacks the same religious connotation it contains in japanese.

We all know of Kaguya and Mokou's fighting by now, there should at least be a winner by now. Mokou is an EX boss, Kaguya is a Stage 6 boss. Mokou should of at least have made Kaguya give up by now or SOMETHING. :flamingv:

When fighting against Satori in SA, the lifebars of the Recollection spells are all shades of blue for every character but ReimuA, which has purple lifebars.

I just noticed that all of the windows extra bosses have at least one spellcard in which they follow you in some way.
Flan, Suwako and Mokou have their survivals.
Ran and Yukari have Princess Tenko/Yukari's Spriting Away respectively.
Nue has Undefined Darkness.
And Koishi has part of her second survival card.

While we're on the subject of certain stage bosses carrying a theme, most stage 4 bosses have a gimmick changing their attack pattern, usually based on the player character.

You fight the character you aren't playing as in LLS
Yuki/Mai in MS
Patchy changes spellcards based on your shot type and character in EoSD
You fight a different Prismriver at the start of the fight depending on your player character in PCB
Reimu/Marisa again in IN
Satori changes spellcards based on shot type and character in SA

Aya and Murasa are boring.

I realized Cirno was only a child in Youkai terms recently. You can't expect a young child to know much, so why call her an idiot?

Also, Cirno is Far-Sighted, hence the blind spot on Icicle Fall Easy.

The only form of gimmick I can think of with Aya is that she is a returning character from the previous game. Yeah, if you consider that a gimmick...

You can also say that the original Touhou has a form of gimmick for the fourth boss. The fourth boss, which is the final boss, depends on which path you took, the Makai Route or the Hell Route.

Don't know much about Aya, but Murasa is (I think) the only stage four boss to have a proper survival card. Not sure if that counts.

The red moon behind Remilia gets bigger as the fight progresses

Yuyuko has her fan

Kanako has her Onbashira

Utsuho makes a sun

Byakuren has her aura thing (I don't know what to call it)
