Well, that ends it. 100% completion of Etrian Odyssey 3. This was...a very long and rewarding journey. It's a rare game that both offers so much and yet compels you to find it all. Playing it daily since Christmas, that makes this nearly a month and a half I've experienced this game. There were good times and bad, but when all is said and done, I am glad I went through with it all. As with EO2, I feel the need to thank those imaginary characters who made this possible. Feel free to ignore.
Gengetsu, my princess/gladiator-turned shogun/ninja, thank you. You were a kickass leader all through the game. Though you never dealt the most damage or had the best offense, your support and later versatality in attack made you an asset to the end. Plus, your ridiculously over-enthusiastic expression always made me laugh. :3
Sora, my monk/farmer-turned monk/buccaneer, thank you. Though you never were a lot of help in damaging enemies, your healing abilities were what kept everyone alive. You will never be as helpful as Rebecca was in EO2, but you were tons of help. So, thank you.
Erica, my arbalist/zodiac, thank you. Your boisterous attitude and shots are what propelled my team to victory, like they were shot from a ballista. :O In a decidedly defensive team, you were what made the health points actually drop. So, thanks for that.
Flandre, my zodiac/monk, thank you. Whenever there was a weakness to be exploited, you were there. Whenever there was a pie that needed devouring, you were there. Whenever there was a meteor shower, you were coincidentally there to see them fall out of orbit and onto the enemy. You are my everything. Expensive magnifying glass.
Aya, my wildling/hoplite, thank you. Though I was told you would be useless early on, I believed in you and you proved everyone wrong. Your binds crippled enemies in ways nobody else on the team was capable of, and your status ailments gave me the edge I needed, particularly confusion. Nothing quite beats watching the final boss smack himself for 230 damage per turn. 8D I was sad to see you go come post-game, but you will always be in my heart.
Onigiri, my post-game monk/buccaneer, thank you. For an old buzzard, you certainly packed a punch for those sixth stratum enemies. You certainly took advantage of the fact that most of the enemies had their skills bound to their head. :3 As with your pupil Sora, your faithful healing kept everyone alive. Thank you.
Cid, my post-game arbalist/zodiac, thank you. If it weren't for your amazing damage output, I would probably still be fighting the dragons. Dealing 2000-3000 damage per hit certainly made things go my way.
You were also the only person who could target all enemies in my post-game team, which helped greatly against massive hoards. Thank you.
Desmond, my hoplite/prince, thank you. When my team switched to become more offensive, you handled all the defense. Your dedication to taking all the damage saved everyone else. You were also necessary to defeat the dragons, as without your anti skills everyone would be wiped from turn 1. Thank you.
Alice, my farmer, thank you. Obviously you never did much but gather, but you gathered very well. You always helped my team get a bit of extra cash when needed. And for that, you are possibly -the- most important member of the entire guild. Because what is fame without fortune? :capitalism:
Purvis, my farmer/wildling, thank you. I admit, I was shocked. When I recruited you to help with harvesting, I thought you were just a hick who picked things good. Little did I know you had THE POWER. When the elder dragon threatened all of humanity, I doubted my ability to defeat the fiend. Nobody would step forward, except you. Casually you entered into mortal combat with the fiend, and I couldn't believe what happened next - you one-shotted a fucking dragon god by summoning a tiger. THAT'S AWESOME. *kowtow*
Sakura, my shogun/farmer, thank you for the paradox. And the extra help with gathering. But mostly the paradox.
Simon, my gladiator/ninja, thank you. Despite the fact me only met today, I have much to thank you for. When faced with the overhwhelming might of the
, I despaired it would take weeks yet to finish it off. But I was told there was a gladiator with a plan, and the plan was good, and you were the plan. When I saw you fell the ultimate evil with one blow, I was amazed. Thank you, over and over again.
And with that, the saga of guild Gensokyo (imaginative, I know) draws to a close. Until we meet again Etrian Odyssey~
