Well, see, usually the gods don't give items. Usually they heal you, make you full again, uncurse your stuff, things like that. Or smite you if you piss them off, of course.

This is a nice overview

Huh, interesting. Not a lot of that sounds terribly helpful for this situation, though.

I would presume there are quest relevant equivalents.

EDIT: Have you all asked if The Dragon has done something specific to Iku's situation when she's prayed in the past?

I figured my previous question would cover that, but if you want to be sure, go ahead and ask. These last 24 hours have actually been our first foray into the prayer mechanics, I believe.

Oh, right, I CAN do that :V

>Have we prayed while having immediate needs?
>Has The Dragon ever helped us immediately in response to a prayer?

Ok, here's my off-the-wall idea. I had something specific in mind to ask The Dragon. I was going to ask it to essentially speak with her, and touch her as it touches us.

We can use only words to tell her the value of openness, and the error of her ways. Words are easy to ignore, if you're fixated on a particular perspective. But The Dragon can show her. It can share this feeling and mindset with her in a more direct and fundamentally intimate way than anything we can say. We've certainly tried.

Of course, there is a flipside to this: if The Dragon is with her, it will know her in a way that nearly no one else could. She will be exposed to it utterly, on a deep and fundamental level she may not even have imagined is possible. If this doesn't risk literally traumatizing her, I don't know what would. If the experience does not open her mind, I cannot even imagine the depth of her loathing for it having happened. That may end everything, right then and there.

I'm essentially hoping for the 'divine revelation' angle. There's certainly precedent for people's eyes having been open when touched by a god. Maybe it could even work with her?

Of course, this is all assuming The Dragon would do so in the first place, if we asked it of it.

I'm feeling pretty okay with this plan. The fundamental level of disagreement makes telling impossible (and her hatred and revulsion likely don't help matters), so showing is really the only thing left.

> How old are we, anyway?
> When we pray, do we pray for something specific, or merely for guidance?

>You are well into the triple digits, but not too close to the quadruple digits.
>You can pray for specific interventions, but whether you get it is based on need, how much you've bothered The Dragon lately versus how exemplary you've been in your duties and faith, and whether or not The Dragon itself  thinks it's a good idea.

>Have we ever prayed to the Dragon before?
>Have we prayed while having immediate needs?
>Has The Dragon ever helped us immediately in response to a prayer?

>You do so pretty frequently, but it's not generally to harass for favors so much as to give thanks.
>Yes.
>It has, though the results do not always turn up immediately.

>"Oh yeah well I reject your face! Fatty."

> What is standard form for praying?
> Did you expect to see this many inputs on the table when you woke up?

>There isn't really a standard, but you have to make some outward form of devotion as well; you can't just hide it among normal activities. Well, you can, but not when asking for intervention.

>You pray for guidance. As you do, you can feel The Dragon's gave upon you. It is distant, nothing like being in its presences properly. Then you feel a single impulse within you; not quite a word, not quite an emotion. It settles on you like a a shawl coming into place, emanating into your heart. It is a solitary  concept, and you feel that you can understand well what is being expressed.

Satisfied? Oh dear, that could have gone better.

So, need. Off the top of my head, this sounds like we need to delve into life's requirements and show that they could not have come about without social interaction. I can't think about it much deeper than that, though, since we're getting packed up to take off.
