>"Sounds like a plan!" Suika says, nodding sagely. Without further comment, she marches off into the indicated tunnel.

>Follow along. Keep an eye on the compass.

>You catch up to Suika, and keep an eye on the compass's direction as you walk. It's pointing about 35 degrees to the right at the moment, but you notice it slowly turning further right as you move forward.
>After a little while, you emerge into a medium sized elongated chamber. The is a steep drop along the right of the path, and an underground river of sorts flows there, maybe 50 feet down. A couple smaller streams emerge from the rock face to your left and flow down into the river; you have to cross one of them to continue on your way, but fortunately it doesn't rise above your ankles.
>As you continue down this chamber, the compass passes 90 degrees to your right, and starts to point behind you. The path ahead of you appars to continue a fair bit forward, and eventually turn left.

>If we're holding the seeking stone now, fly a bit around the chamber, and see how much it varies.
>If not, ask Suika to do this.

>If we're holding the seeking stone now, fly a bit around the chamber, and see how much it varies.
>If not, ask Suika to do this.

>You ask Suika to fly around the chamber with the seeking stone and see if she can tell the extent of the variation. Rather than do this, she hands it back to you and you take a look around, yourself.
>The chamber is several hundred feet long, and vaguely c-shaped. At one end of the chamber, the stone is pointing about 20 degrees to your right. By the other end, it is pointing approximately 100 degrees to your right.

>Move as close as we can to the rightward wall from our current position without getting into the streams and such.
>Repeat the test. See if there is an appreciable difference.

>Suika nods.
>You were pretty close to the rightward wall on the first pass. The actual walkable path is no more than 10 or so feet wide, and much of the open space in the chamber is beyond the ledge and below, to your left.

>Fly then, and test again.

>You try running the same route at a higher altitude. The vertical aim of the seeking stone doesn't change very much compared to the first pass. Of course, the point that was marked was also significantly high above the ground, so you don't think you can tell how deep you are just from this.

>Other than a few small cracks in the rock face from which water issues, the wall seems quite solid to you.

>Head back toward the tunnel that brought us here. Usher the others that way.
> Have a peek at what Suika's doing

>You quickly head back towards the way you came, making sure that Mokou, and particularly Rumia follow along.
>Once you're a reasonable distance away, Suika takes a deep breath, pulls one fist back, and then slams it into the wall. There is an thunderous crack, and you can feel the floor beneath you shake. Fragments of rock explode away from the point of impact. Once the debris clears, you see that there is a crater in the wall around Suika's fist at least 5 feet across and several feet deep. She pulls that arm back and then punches in with the other arm. A similar crash ensues.

>"See, Mokou?"

>If a Deva can muster that much power to do excavation work, you think you're probably quite glad to never have witnessed a battle where she really didn't hold back.
>Mokou is staring rather slack-jawed at the moment. "Don't you think that could bring the whole place down on her?" she eventually asks.
>Suika punches a couple more times, and eventually disappears out of sight into the tunnel she's pummeling.

> Do we think it's safe to follow behind her or should we wait for her to finish the tunnel?

>Are the moment, you really don't want to be anywhere near her. You're not even certain being in the same chamber is entirely safe, given how the floor keeps shaking.

> Wait until everything stops shaking, then wait some more and then check on Suika

>You decide to keep at a safe(?) distance until Suika's clearly finished what she's doing.
>Suika appears to speed up the pace, as the ground starts shaking almost continuously. The noise is really quite deafening. Rumia covers her head in her hands and starts whimpering. Even Mokou looks somewhat disquieted.
>Suddenly, a new sound joins the general chaos. You have just long enough to wonder what it is when a torrent of water bursts out of the new tunnel. You see a skinny arm flailing out of it. It washes over the pathway and quickly falls over the edge below.

>"Ah hell!"
>Fly out there to try and save her.

>As soon as what's happening registers, you dive over the edge and try to see if you can catch her. Looking towards the new waterfall, you don't see any form at all in it now. Then you see one arm thrust out from the water and grab onto a handhold in the cliff face. Wait, correction: make a new handhold in the cliff face. With a little effort, she extricates the rest of herself from the torrent and lands back on the upper path.

>Suika grins sheepishly and then shivers. She seems to be soaked to the skin. "Maybe that wasn't that best idea...." she says, belatedly.

>Does the water's flow seem to be slowing?

>The water's flow is slower than smaller than the initial surge, but is still flowing out at a brisk rate. You wouldn't want to try standing in it.
