>Do we get any especial bad feelings from it, aside from there being a huge fissure where one of the big important parts of Gensokyo should be?

>Other than the obvious issue of where it's located, the fissure doesn't seem more threatening than any other hole in the ground at the moment.

> Ready a spell card just in case

Still, it can't hurt to be prepared for something lurking down there. You pull Origin Sign "Ephemerality 137" from your pocket.

>If not, take a closer but cautious, look at that motion.

>You cautiously descend towards the fissure. Walls of earth rise up around you as you pass ground level. It's still too dark to see the bottom easily, although the walls seem to be growing closer together as you go down.
>You're starting to get a strange feeling while you float here. There is something different about this place than the rest of Gensokyo. You're not quite sure what it is.
>Another glimmer of motion catches your eyes. You think you almost see part of the air glisten for a moment. And there is it again, elsewhere. It's sort of a subtle violet shimmer.

>You get no response.

>Approach the shimmering. Or if it's too elusive, a spot that did shimmer.

>You move towards where you saw the first shimmer, but as you do, you see patches of it elsewhere. In fact, as your eyes get used to it, to can see that much of this area seems to shimmer similarly. It's very subtle and interment. Only occasionally does a patch catch the moonlight in such a way that it becomes obvious for a moment. It's almost like the light is refracting though the air, somehow.

>Check the wall, to make sure it is the air refracting, and not some trick of the earth.

>You put your hand to the wall of the crevice nearest you. Looks and feel just like ordinary rock to you. The face does seem surprisingly smooth, though. Whatever sheared it did so quite cleanly.

> Observe refractions closely

>You try to look more closely at the strange phenomenon. It's still kinda hard to see. It seems like very tiny slivers of nearly translucent violet that seem to appear and disappear, almost like dust swirling before a very bright beam of light. The whole crevice seems to contain them, although it's hard to see very far away from yourself. The light down here is quite poor.
>You're definitely getting a strange feeling being down here. ....disconnected, almost seems to be the right word for it. Like this space and the space above it do not belong to entirely the same place. There's definitely magic in the air, or a power of some sort. Or maybe just an echo of that power....?

> Head deeper into the fissure, stay alert for anything, and keep that spell card prepped

>Keeping your spellcard at the ready, you descend further into the fissure. The walls continue to narrow until the fissure bottoms out. Nothing seems especially different down here. Looking back up at the sky, you figure you're at least 100 meters down. The shrine would have been another couple hundred meters to your east, from here.

> Keeping to the ground, head towards the location of the shrine

>You try to land, but the ground is very uneven down here, and walking becomes an exercise in balance and night vision. You decide to float up a little, again, rather than risk spraining your ankle.
>You continue towards the shrine's location, but don't notice any appreciable changes in terrain. Just the same smooth walls, and faintly shimmering air.
>You arrive at where you THINK the shrine would have been, approximately. You can't see any sign of it down here, though. No debris, no rubble, no trace of it at all.

( I actually meant hovering bit above the ground , but whatever, hmmm was the saying 'keeping to the ground'......no, 'keeping low'......wait it was 'keeping close to the ground', yeah that was it, maybe)

>It doesn't really look the same. The border is somewhat prismatic and more consistent looking.

> Ponder possibility of going to the Scarlet Devil's Mansion

Well, you know how to get there, at least. You haven't had a lot of contact with the people who live there, since they mostly keep to themselves. Aside from random acts of selfishness like the Scarlet Mist Incident. You did have a somewhat unpleasant encounter with Remilia and Sakuya during the Fake Moon Incident. You can't say you necessarily like them very much, but if you could convince them to let you in, Patchouli might know more about what's happened here. She doesn't get called the Great Unmoving Library for nothing.

>Ponder if all the human types are gone now.

>Well, Rumia did say she'd seen a human wandering around the village recently. You don't know who it was, but it seems that there may at least be some humans left somewhere.

>Back to the village. Maybe Rumia knows where to find Alice.

>You decide to head back towards the village, in the hope that Rumia may be able to give you some better directions. You can't quite believe it's come to asking HER for directions, but at least she can speak, which is more than you can say for anything else you've bumped into tonight.

>You fly out of the crevice and land back on the path to the village. After some time, you can see it come into sight in the west, again.

>You head further into the village, keeping an eye out for movement or any other signs of life. You don't notice anything at the moment
>You are in the eastern section of the village, near the Heida household. Your school is to the south. The market area is west, and your home is further northwest. The graveyard and outlying farms are to some distance to the north, past the main body of the village.
