I will cheer for Germany because that's what I did for the last six world and european champioships. Loew's Germany is really pleasant to watch, but it's about time for them to actually win a major tournament.

Ronaldo is a great player, but he is also arrogant.
His problem is, that he needs a good team to bring the ball to him, or the defences will concentrate everything on him. Real Madrid has these people, Portugal not so much.

I guess the problem with Germany is, as always, their defence. I'm thankful that we have someone like Neuer as Keeper.

I would tip for a 1:1

That is pretty much what Messi is, minus the arrogance and stylish looks.

History moment: In WC2010, all eyes were on Messi but he was simply not present on the field. Argentina didn't really got far, because lolMaradonna had "awesome tactics"  >> Everybody play for Messi. Doesn't works that way man. Key players are often supported by their teammembers thanks to synergy and training. A national team is different, so you can quickly see which country has practised and which one didn't.

Same thing about Ozil Dora, good chap, tat arrogant but semi-finals in 2010 he was not performing. Shame, because I really hoped Germany would've beaten Spain to face Netherlands that year. :V

I'm siding with the Germans for this match; team has been pleasant to watch for the most part, plus humiliating Ronaldo is always an extra plus! :V

Of course, the broadcasters here in US are also rallying hype for their match versus Ghana. At least they're not as ultra-nationalist and exclusionary in their reporting compared to that of the Olympics.

Do they have Broadcasters for *US English and *UK English?

International football broadcasts here tend to use British announcers! :P American commentators usually dominate domestic games, however.

Yeah that and Messi was known mostly as a playmaker as well. So Maradona focusing on playing around Messi was completely counter intuitive to how Messi usually plays.

Ronaldo is good and all but he's mostly known as a scorer and not so much the playmaking part.

Caught up on the events of yesterday...

That Switz match, huh. 30 seconds before the end of the game... always something special seeing a winning goal clenched so close to the final whistle...

Doesn't beat Turkey's shenanigans from Euro 2008 though~ :V

2008 EC was a silly moment. I remember well that I sat defeated on the cough and my father, cousin, uncle retreated to the balcony to get some fresh air when the shot flew into the goal and everybody went nuts.

{Apologies for side-tracking the actual topic, but I wanted to reply to this.}

I was living with my Dad at the time, and my Dad and the rest of the family went to Turkey on holiday every year. (I never went... had to stay and look after the house~ :V ) They wanted them to do well, but Dad was certain they wouldn't do that well. He couldn't believe it when Turkey got to the Quarter-Finals, so he tuned in for it.

So when Turkey went down a goal to Croatia, they turned off the TV downstairs. I was upstairs watching it on my own TV, but kept on. When Turkey equalised (last kick of the game), I literally jumped from where I was sitting, screaming in joy and disbelief. Dad, of course, quickly turned the TV back on downstairs; and didn't tell me off for the sudden noise as he admitted he thought it was over. (And didn't believe me when he heard me screaming initially~ :V ) That was a beautiful moment; especially the scenes after it.

{Back on actual topic.}

Not really sure who to root for in today's matches... Would be amusing if the States won their match; just to spite England yet again~  :derp: {Remembers America's headline of USA WINS when they tied England 1-1 last cup.}

Not a good performance if he tried to. What a dumbass for pulling such an act. Deserved red card.

Germany rules and all is well with the world. Also this makes the USA - Ghana match all the more interesting. I'm very curious about Klinsmann's team and the impact of his decision to leave Donovan home.

I stopped watching Nigeria vs Iran. I expected Nigeria to action it up but it seems nothing is happening.

Going to bed. USA vs Ghana is going to be difficult game for USA. Not siding with any team :V but I think USA will have a hard time. Gl hf to both and the people watching.
