The button was not to destroy the barrier as to expose Gensokyo, but rather to destroy Gensokyo in the explosion...

I could imagine Iku going off at "i-ku" for causing a tsunami (it's caused by an earthquake, right?) while out ship-sinking Murasa with her oxygen torpedos.
...though I think she would get excited (for some reason) the moment she learns that Iku's name is, well, Iku

Marisa somehow become able to use the Hakurei orb and spend a day using it to search for Ms. Shrine Maiden. After defeating three bosses, the third would then inform Marisa that her old friend had left for the land of the departed. Marisa would then go beat up Yukari (telling her to manipulate the border of life and death) Yuyuko (telling her to give up Reimu) and finally Reimu herself, who reveals that Gensokyo is just a dream and the death of the shrine maiden will result in the dream's end. Fortunately, Marisa escapes before Gensokyo's collapse and returns to find Reimu and Suika building a new Gensokyo.

We all know she died from starvation.
